We focus on playing and writing music immediately, the theory is second, music playing and having fun is first!

I'm 30 years old and I have been playing music of all kinds since I was 15. I practiced 3 years before I actually played with anyone and once I did I learned so much more. I don't want you to make the same mistake, try out my 30 minute discount rate and we can make sure you are having fun and playing music in no time, if you want to expand into harder lessons then we can worry about that later.

About Joshua

Guitar is the most amazing instrument to me. I got really lucky because someone gave me an electric when i was 12 and I just played it. I didn't even know they had to be tuned at first! Once I started playing with people I learned so much so fast. I also went to school for recording and am able

About Jason

I've always been attracted to music since I was a little kid. However, I started formally taking trumpet lessons around the age of 10. I would go on to be in a plethora of concert and marching bands all throughout grade school. When I was 14, I acquired my first electric guitar. I immediately fell

Students can expect a teacher that addresses every single aspect of learning orchestral upright bass: from honing bow technique, to left-hand formation and fingering choices, to reading musical notation, interpreting music and learning rhythm.

My goal is to help students develop a technical foundation on the bass for playing just about any kind of music that they are interested in, and to support students with practicing tips for areas in their playing where they want to improve. My specialty is symphony orchestra training, so I primarily use the Essential Elements for Strings books at the beginning, and then later as students make progress, I begin to introduce standard orchestral repertoire, sonatas, and concertos written for the bass. I have been teaching since August 2016 and so far I have helped students get into All-States, ensembles at the New England Conservatory Preparatory Division, Districts/Regional festivals, youth orchestra programs, and music degree programs at ...

My son does hybrid in person and online lessons with Darren. Darren is very enthusiastic, encouraging and articulate. After every lesson, my son is energized. For the first time, he advanced to state level after intensive lessons with Darren. Darren also teaches HOW to practice and clearly points out what he needs to do so my son can focus his practice. Highly recommend him.

"Kay has been teaching me for about a year now and it has been a wonderful experience. She is always polite and kind when we meet, she is flexible with scheduling when the issues of life come up. Of course she is incredibly knowledgeable with vocal technique and the world of Professional Singing which is very helpful for someone like me who has little experience."

"I have to admit, starting violin lessons as an adult is really weird, but it's something I've always wanted to try. I tried another teacher on here and she was a bit impatient and short with me (how does she teach children??!), so I tried Nick due to his location from my home. He's been fantastic! He's a great combo of being patient, caring, and encouraging, but also stern enough to get me to do what I need to get better. I'm sure it's not easy working with an adult that can "talk back" haha. He clearly knows what he's doing and he helps motivate me to keep learning. And he's very understanding when I run a tad late sometimes. I imagine he'd be great with kids too if he's great with a difficult adult like me."

"It has been a joy and a blessing to have Nancy as a piano teacher for my two children over the past 6 years! She has given them not only a sound, well-rounded piano education, but she has also gone above and beyond by truly caring about each of them and giving of her very self for their benefit. She has taken the time to listen, to investigate, and to find ways to encourage each of them to overcome challenges and to grow in their unique styles and talents. She has used a multi-faceted approach with my children, simultaneously building their knowledge of music theory, ability to sight-read, and understanding of varying kinds of music (including but not limited to: classical, jazz, show tunes, popular music, hymns, praise/worship)... all the while fanning the flames of each child's God-given passions and talents. (For example, she has helped them develop their compositional and improvisational skills as well.) I am very thankful for the role Nancy has played in my children's lives! I know absolutely that having her as a piano teacher has had a profound positive impact on their musical journeys."

Tips for Singing: Why Practicing Scales Matters

It's a common misconception that singers and instrumentalists are two completely different types of musicians. They're actually much more alike than you might think! The difference is that, as singers, your instrument is your body! Because of this, as you learn how to sing, you'll likely come across some specific issues of technique. One of the most important things for singers to work on is singing notes that are perfectly in tune. Generally, producing the correct notes for an instrumentalist …
