Jonathan has a demonstrable amount of knowledge about the violin including different playing styles, music theory, and its practical application. His approach is incremental and measured that adapts to my specific strengths and weaknesses intermixed with an appropriate amount of patience. He is also very personable. I always look forward to our lessons together.

I am a native German and able to teach in every level and in dialects and accents as well.

Teaching is more a hobby and pleasure for me than a side job. My students mostly have to remind me that the time is over and I have to let them go. ;)

About Marcel
I work as a tutor and mentor in many of those fields for years. It was and is a side business, but I always enjoyed teaching.
I am looking forward to move on with you and / or your kids.
Have a great day,
Marcel

Update 02/10/15: Takelessons is a great way to teach and a fantastic and easy way to learn for students. I currently have 3 students per week, with several hours. I really enjoy it, either online via Skype or Facetime or Live at the students place. Hit me up and let's move something together.

I need to improve my spoken German for business and Marcel has been invaluable in helping me improve at a good pace while being incredibly flexible on lesson planning.

I've been working with him for about a month now and I've grown to feel more comfortable speaking with my colleagues who are native German speakers.

If you want a native, professional teacher who can be fun...Marcel is your guy.

Verena was great! I really enjoyed my lessons with her. I thought it was going to be really difficult to pick up the language but she made it easy and fun! I’m traveling to Germany for work a lot and wanted to improve my basic conversational skills. I’ve already put my new skills to work with my German collogues over the phone. Not only was I able to understand a lot more of what they were saying but I could actually respond in full sentences. And I’m using my translation app much less now. One of my German collogues actually complemented me on my German pronunciation ! The German lessons were well worth the investment.

I have taken lessons with Ronald since I was 6, I am now 23. In my 17 years of taking lessons I have learned to play piano, sing and am proficient in music theory. In the more recent years I have even had the opportunity to teach music through Ronald. Throughout the years, I have experienced and witnessed the patience and kindness Ronald consistently shows his students. He encourages his students to become better and shares in their enthusiasm due to their accomplishments. Ronald genuinely cares about his students and is dedicated to making sure his students improve. I fully recommend Ronald for students who have parents who want to be involved in the learning process and especially for young children who are just starting out. Ronald works well with families, includes parents every step of the way and is very patient with young students helping them learn in an open and encouraging environment.

Mr.Chaz is really dedicated to his profession. He started to teach my seven year old son over one year ago and he has motivated him to sing his best and he started piano with him last year which has been a phenomenal experience for my son. Chaz really focuses on the detail, theory and groundwork necessary to excel in music. If you are lucky enough to get your child started with him you will never regret the experience. He is simply the best! My son sings all the time now and loves to play piano. I am so happy for my son to have found someone to expand on his talents!

German was the first language I learned in high school, and I am very attached to the beautiful sound of it. While others think of German as harsh, I know it as the musical speech of a friendly and wonderful people. I very much enjoy sharing it with anyone who is interested in the challenge and the reward!

About Luke
I am deeply passionate about sharing knowledge with others and have been lucky to be teaching my entire adult life. There are so many enriching experiences available to us when we learn more about the world.

Foreign languages are among my favorites, and I have specialized in teaching Latin, Italian, and Japanese. As a geologist, I am also profoundly interested in the sciences. When I teach I like to understand where my students are coming from, what really inspires them, and help them to enjoy and love what they want to learn. For me, learning is always fun, so whether you like to study or you are having trouble motivating yourself to concentrate, together we will discover the joy and fun in what you are studying.

Many people speak German - but teaching German is a talent . I was born in Germany, lived there for 35 years and then I came to America.  I was always fascinated with languages. I went to the Gymnasium and at the tender age of 10 started learning Latin, English and French. While you are learning all these languages the German language is taught the same way. The emphasis is on grammar, conjugation, declension and especially positioning etc etc. I realized a few years back my talent for teaching a language. I teach the way I learned it . The grammar has to make sense, then one can construct sentences. There are so many rules and then so many exceptions to the rules. The student learns about culture, politics, entertainment.
My students come from all walks of life, I can prepare the student for the Goethe Institute requirements to get a work visa.   Some students realize that they have a real language talent, then we work through all kinds of different books, newspapers and internet. ...

About Jutta
Native German Lady, I was told that I speak a nice pleasant German, It is not totally "Hochdeutsch" but a bit softer with no defined dialect. So, you then can go anywhere and be understood. My goal is to teach correct pronunciation, grammar and positioning. I am a logical, analytical teacher with the patience of a saint. We will have fun together. There are always surprises in the lessons because one word can spark interest into a different direction and suddenly we are somewhere else together. It is never ever boring or hard work. Let's have fun!

I've had Jutta as my tutor for months now and she's been one of the best German tutors I've ever had. She made me realize the importance of verb conjugation and recognizing strong, weak, and mixed verbs and their infinitive forms. I really learned a lot from her and highly recommend her to everyone.

I studied German at the University of Michigan and have spent a combined time of 18 months living in Germany. I know what it takes to learn a this language from scratch and can help you improve your skills and grades in your high school or college German class.

Ich freue mich drauf!!!

About Ryan
Why do you want to learn English? Answer that question and I will help you achieve it. I'm a native English speaker from Detroit, Michigan and have taught English abroad in both Germany and Peru. I now work in marketing and do freelance proofreading and writing.

I love English and I love language. I studied German at the University of Michigan and understand the difficulties that can come with learning or improving language skills. I lived in Germany two times, once for six months and again for a year, and spent a couple months living in Peru. These experiences taught me that learning a language is best done in two ways: with native speakers, and with full immersion. This is the philosophy I bring to my lessons.

I understand that you are learning English for your own purposes and to better yourself and your career. With me you will le
arn the practical and useful (and fun!) elements of English that will help your conversation and writing skills get to the next level. I know what you need to learn to improve your English for business and university. Conversation is key. We will work hard and we will get there.

Beginner? No worries! I've worked with English learners of all abilities. No matter what your skill level, all you need is to set goals for yourself, and I will help you get there.

I am very excited to go on this journey with you!!
