Great first lesson. Learned new methods to improve bowing. Looking forward to the next lesson

I am coming to the cello as a brand new beginner. I have play around with some fretted instruments, ukulele, banjo, etc. But Irina was super at getting me relaxed, focused on basics and encouraging me with small, but important mechanics and technical details. I have taken other music lessons like sax, so could compare. I totally enjoyed the start of my cello training.
Oh, btw, I'm retired and over 65!!!

Philippe is an extremely engaging and patient instructor. I had the pleasure of taking two of his virtual courses, one with about 12 students and one with 5. He was able to teach to everyone's level without leaving anyone behind or boring those with a little more experience. He also made himself available outside of class to answer questions. I believe I made great strides with my French speaking skills because of him.

I have taught both privately and have also done various workshops at festivals. I have taught guitar multiple years for instance at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival in PA.
My students learn to have fun with music. Students can work on rhythms, melodies, improvisation, song writing, getting into and/or hanging on in a jam session, etc.

She corrects with kindness when needed, and maintains a delightfully positive attitude throughout the lesson. Coming back to ballet in adulthood, as a former professional dancer— I had a lot of anxiety and trepidation about returning. Kristen has been incredibly supportive, understanding, enthusiastic, and compassionate; she guides with joy, intelligence and empathy, in a highly articulate and informative manner.
