I started playing acoustic guitar when I was seven years old. I have been playing and teaching mostly bluegrass, old time, Irish, blues, and swing jazz styles for many years. I have taught both privately and have also done various workshops at festivals. I have taught guitar multiple years for instance at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival in PA.
My students learn to have fun with music. Students can work on rhythms, melodies, improvisation, song writing, getting into and/or hanging on in a jam session, etc.
About Tara

David enjoys teaching students from all different backgrounds and levels of proficiency. Whether you are just starting out or a virtuoso shredder in the making, he is happy to teach you! Over all, he is fairly laid back, as long as you practice. He usually combines work with reading off of the treble clef (what he likens to "eating your vegetables." You may not want to do it, but it will make you a healthier musician!) with learning more popular songs (or songs the student says they would like to learn) through tablature and chord charts, depending on the style of the song.
David is also very pro music theory. He usually incorporates music theory into the curriculum in conjunction with the material already being discussed. He is also very knowledgeable about composition/songwriting, and if the student is interested in learning more about this area, he is happy to share what he knows!
About David
David is a successful singer/songwriter/guitarist out of Fairfax, VA. He has a bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in composition from Salisbury University, where he also studied jazz and classical guitar . In the 25 years he has been performing (20 of those professionally) and playin

I specialize in beginner/intermediate level basics, with rock and blues genres specifically. I focus extensively on the topics of improvisation and on developing your personal voice on the instrument, along with solid, natural technique.
I believe in growing as a guitarist not just through technical proficiency, but also in overall musicianship. My approach to learning songs is not just being able to play a song, but to understand why it works, and how you can translate the things you hear into techniques and ideas you can utilize in your own songwriting.
About Rachel
I'm a guitarist based out of the Atlanta, GA area with 9+ years experience playing, teaching and performing music. My influences cover a wide spectrum, and I'm most at home playing in a blues, rock or indie style. I am currently working on a certificate in jazz guitar from Berklee College of Mu

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

Having studied music very seriously, I helped him a little but knew that a real guitar teacher is what he needed. Neil is just what I was looking for! He has a very laid back "attitude" but he's laser focused on keeping things moving, keeping things light, and being totally encouraging. He also is very open to teaching rock and jazz and I can tell he just wants to teach a student whatever style/music type that will keep the student engaged. After every class my son has been satisfied and excited with what he's learning (and I stay and listen and get a kick out of it too). We drive quite a ways to get to his place, but it has been totally worth it. Thanks Neil! You RAWK!!"
