I can help beginning students on cello learn the basics.

I have taught cello for many years to different ages, needs, and goals in music, from enjoying music to prepare auditions and a professional career. I enjoy sharing my passion for cello playing. In addition to my teaching in private studio, public and private schools, colleges and universities, I’m a concert cellist with experience performing as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, I empathize with students problems to solve and the art of interpretation, living music to the highest levels , I was taught by great artists.

Everyone comes to the cello for something different. It is my biggest goal as a teacher to shape a course of study that fits each student's interests and aspirations with the instrument. I have experience in a broad variety of teaching: beginner students of all ages, students exploring a hobby, and young advanced students aspiring to careers in music.

I love playing and teaching the cello, and I'm so excited to share that with you as you learn to play the music you've been hearing in your head. I'll work with you to create a personalized study plan that is engaging, positive, and progress-oriented. My teaching style is as slow as you need, as fast as you can go. Technique should always serve the music, so we'll focus on creating art and telling the story that you want to tell.

Lessons are open to anyone; even if you don’t have a cello yet! I have worked with beginning students learning the basics of reading music, to advanced players & colleagues looking for a careful ear. For learners under 10, I recommend 30-45 minutes. For all other players, there's no time limit; I love to go into details and can work as long as you want! Hello, my name is Bailey and I love teaching cello! I am a professional pianist and public school orchestra teacher. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Fredonia School of Music. I am a certified K-12 music teacher in New York State. I have been giving private lessons for 10 years to a variety of learners ranging in age and skill level.
My students walk away each week feeling empowered and confident in their abilities. I am able to push you while making you feel excited about new challenges. I am able to assess what you need, and offer you meaningful feedback in small, digestible chunks. Along with all of this, I make lessons fun!
