Really great experience that was fun. Serg explained everything in a way that a nine year old could understand. For preparation for next week Serg made a video so Ashton could practice everything just like he taught him while in class.

I teach using a combination of modern, traditional and personal books, and Popular music charts.

"œWhen the student combines his/her playing with a strong practice, playing, and performance regimen, they are bound to get better and improve to continue making music a concrete hobby in their life."

About Sandra
I studied under Mr. Willis Ley at Ley Studio for eighteen years. She was an accompanist for the Heritage School of Dance for twelve years and also played for the School for the Richmond Ballet for One Year. Sandra was trained in contemporary, patriotic and classical music as well as music theory. She has taught children and adults piano both in their homes as well as in her home. She is an accomplished pianist who will give the student a rewarding and fulfilling experience in mastering the keyboard to their fullest potential and play any song for there own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of others.

*** Lesson Details ***
As a teacher, I would work with the student on learning there favorite song. This would be a goal to set for the student for the first three months. They would be taught to do the scale with their right hand. The
y would learn there sharps and flats and the difference between the two key signatures. They would also learn during the first six months some of the basic terms in music theory. I would set goals, but never overwhelm the student, but work with them according to how much they could take in. They would have weekly assignments. If an assignment is not mastered during that time, then we would review it and carry it to the next week. When one assignment is mastered, then the student would work on the next. This would be a step by step processed. My goal for the student the first six months is to get that child or adult to be able to play their chords in their left hand, octaves and fillings in their right hand and know how to work the pedals. They would understand and know the key signatures and what timing they are playing in. The student would also know some of the basic music terms. Please keep in mind that this depends on how much information that the student can process. With some it could take a little bit longer. With others it would take less time.

*** Studio Equipment ***
f/w keyboard ("It's heavy, it was metal inside it!") w/ seating for parents

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect payment on any music material that I purchase at the Music Store.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in Rock, Classical, Patriotic, Standard and Spiritual and also children's music for beginners. I do a wide range of music from the fifties up to today.

About Michelle
I am Certified Beginning Piano teacher as well as an intermediate level teacher. I studied piano at Cerritos College of Norwalk, CA with an emphasis in piano and completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a focus in percussion from CSU Long Beach. I currently teach private and classroom lessons for piano. I have consistently taught piano since 2002 to students ages 5 and above.

I have traveled the world to perform and teach music. I have been to Brazil to study samba and its many different styles through the World Percussion Program of CSU Long Beach in 2006 and 2007. In 2012, I traveled to Colombia and Venezuela to perform with the band of Terratour- a humanitarian group. My close friend and I performed his inspirational and encouraging music- he on guitar and lead vocals and I on piano. We collaborated with local musici
ans in local venues throughout both countries. I have always admired traveling and performing live, and Terratour was the best opportunity to do so.

From my profile pictures and videos, you may have notice I'm a Carpenters fan. Yes, I am! I sing, play piano and drums. The Carpenters are my musical inspirations and that's exactly how I perform- with passion and tender, love, and care. I was once the other musical half of a Carpenters tribute band, Close To You. My friend and I learned many of the Carpenters tunes and collaborated with vocals, piano, steel drums, drums and other percussion. We have disbanded, but even before forming the band, I was always singing and playing drums/piano simultaneously on my own and still continue to.

I am available for online, in-home, or in-studio lessons. If you want to develop your talent, I can do that with you. You have all the ability and power to learn and be great- I'm just going to guide you all the way to your goal.

Please notify me of the special need prior to booking lessons so I can accommodate.

About Brian
Biography- Growing up in Chicago, I was immersed in and entranced by the Blues from the day I was born. We had family from Louisiana (as did half of Chicago, there's a train that has run from Louisiana to Chicago for one hundred and thirty five years), and so I spent summers taking canoes out on the Bayou and eating alligator on a stick at the local fairs, and listening to Zydeco and no lie, I had to square dance. Back home I was an honors student and athlete, but my first love was guitar and drums, and having a brother who played both allowed us to develop our abilities quickly. I was teaching drums at The Village School of Folk Music in Libertyville, Illinois by the time I was thirteen years old.
The guy who owned the store also owned a modern music equipment store, and after attending Eastern Illinois University , I was one of the
first on the scene when MIDI and digital recording systems for home computers became available, selling and installing early systems while managing the guitar department. I soon had produced enough original material that led to moving to Los Angeles, where I started Orange County's first electronic label, and was soon signed to Astralwerks/Virgin as a solo artist. This is where I learned about publishing, licensing, and the way the business works. I was soon licensing and producing soundtrack music, as well as touring and playing on records with Sugar Blue (the harmonica player for the Stones) Carl Zephyr (Rick James' bass player) H.R. from Bad Brains, Al Jourgenson from Ministry, Jello from the Dead Kennedys, and sold music to major companies like Microsoft ( millions of kids got that first X-box console with 'Gotham Racing', featuring one of my songs!) and New Line Cinema, Sony, Warner, etc. When internet piracy came around, the entire music business took a dive. I returned to another love of mine, computers, and finished my degree last July. I think it's time to share what I have learned with some very special people who want to know not only how Blues music is played, but also how those emotions are transmuted through your fingers, through the guitar and out to the crowd, where the slightest nuance can tell a story, or express a feeling that can't be said in words. This is how I approach the guitar. If you are interested in learning the music of John Lee Hooker, Elmore James, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Lightnin' Hopkins, Robert Johnson, and other great Blues artists, then I'd be honored. Thanks for your time.
