Upright is my main instrument and I love to teach jazz. Focusing on walking bass lines, and outlining the harmony. We can learn the modes, patterns for walking bass lines, and improvisation.

About Max

I like working with all different age groups teaching them in a way where they can go and learn to play their favorite songs. I can also teach music theory but I find that with kids it is more exciting for them to learn how to play the type of music they are into. Once we have established that we

Fantastic instruction. Patient, clear, and ensured she was meeting my daughter where she is at. Significantly more productive class times compared with our last in person teacher.

I have been learning from Jonathan for the past two months. She is a very supportive and patient teacher. I was a complete beginner when I first started, but after one to two weeks, I can play easy tunes like Twinkle Twinkle. Whenever I have any questions regarding the violin, she can give me helpful solutions. When I have lessons with her, I can immediately know where I need to improve and gain a few extra tips on my playing.

I would highly recommend Jonathan to you (people who are browsing on Takelessons)!

Dj zen is an excellent teacher for someone like me.. He was patient and understanding when it came to the speed at which I pick up things. (Slowly) He was extremely versatile when it came to the types of music i wanted to mix and very knowledgeable about the equipment i had in front of me. I would recommend him to extreme beginners to people looking to polish their skill sets and add even more. Im very happy with what I am learning!

"My 7 year old son has been taking recorder lessons from Dimitry for almost 1 year now. Dimitry is very patient, encouraging, and enganging - considering that my son is on the younger side. Dimitry provides music instruction that is appropriate age and level wise, so my son feels accomplished and challenged at the same time.
We plan to continue with Dimitry and hopefully advance to the clarinet once his fingers can cover the clarinet holes and he has learned more music theory. My son looks forward to his music lessons. We are very pleased with his musical instruction."

"I've had several vocal teachers before but I can honestly say Valyncia is the best I've ever worked with. She's the sweetest, most caring person, and more than capable of pushing you to your next level even if you don't think you can do it. I didn't have or even know how to find my head voice before taking lessons with Valyncia. She has a knack for pulling talent out that you didn't even know existed. From vocal lessons, to songwriting, and recording she's a jack of all trades. I would highly recommend that you allow her the chance to share her gifts with you."

"It was our first lesson with Charles for my 9 year old son. We finally found the right instructor! Without being condescending, he taught my son some basics about holding the instrument correctly, how to bring it up for play.... essentially proper playing etiquette that he is not getting at school from a teacher who is far too stretched with a large class of multiple instruments and only ONE teacher. (She really needs an assistant) I think he is going to learn a LOT and I love that he corrects him without being rude nor condescending. I would give him 5 stars but it's our first lesson. Will review again after a month and hopefully gloat some more about him! :) ~ Very pleased!"

"I have been fortunate enough to take lessons with Dan for over a year now. Taking lessons with him has been an absolute game changer. He is very focused during class and is incredibly patient. He takes notes during each class so he knows exactly what songs I'm working on, which parts of my range need work, how my range has changed, etc. I highly recommend his vocal coaching."

What Does it Take to Become a Professional Cello Player?

Pursuing a career in music is a risky decision, because by the nature of the industry few artists can “make it big.” Most artists aren’t pop stars, or even full-time career musicians, and all musicians also teach to remedy this. There are many paths to becoming a professional cello player, and depending on where you start it might be easy or hard to earn a reputation and start making money. I followed an academic path, studying classical music at university and then continuing my research …

Learning Classical Guitar: Can I Use Tabs or Should I Read Music?
