Everyone's journey with music is unique and their own! I do not want to make cookie-cutter students; I want to inspire each student to embrace their own voice. In my lessons I encourage, I give technique that will allow them to safely experiment, and we will have fun with each other! I specialize in Musical Theater, Opera, and Commercial music, but can help with whatever style you choose! Sing whatever you want and we will work together so you can sing it to the best of your ability!

Darren has sung with over 10 legendary music acts and in 2010 won International Vocalist of the Year. He has one of the broadest ranges in the music business. He specializes in modern music formats, Pop, Rock, Country and Theater. He believes in teaching by singing songs accompanied by developmental exercises for breathing, power, range and endurance. I'm a 'classically trained' voice teacher with extensive training in dance and drama;
a liberal arts degree from Columbia University/Master of Arts Education from City College of NY.
Before settling into a music career, worked as a dance instructor, for the City of NY and received congrats from John Lindsey, then mayor, for outstanding achievement.
As an actor, performed in several off-Broadway plays and was a principal in the “Broadway tour”, ”Pulitzer prize ” winning play, “No Place to be Somebody.” I've performed through the years as a vocalist with a trio and as a ONE WOMAN SHOW at various night spots, concert halls and social events. As a voice coach I've had the good fortune to teach the skills and techniques of the art of singing.
Singing is the joy I share as a performer and as a teacher. Anyone can learn to sing; and do it on a superior level. It takes desire and the willingness to practice the skills necessary until the goal is achieved.
The journey is worth it!

Singing is my specialty. As the vocalist for Sony Records band Atom Smash I toured for over 1000 shows and have found tricks to keep your voice up to par while singing aggressively. Most coaches focus on classical methods that would'nt stand up to the modern market of music. Using my methods and coaching your voice will be healthier, more stylized, and you will have the stamina to play 200 shows per year like I have. Im a passionate coach that takes my students under my wing.

The goal of training the voice is to create a strong, unified sound through the entire range of the voice. With regular practice and training, the quality of the voice will improve, the range will expand and you will become a more confident performer.
