I have been teaching 18 years. I started at 17 in Ohio to help out the studio I was taking lessons from.
I am a disabled veteran who taught music in Japan for years and have settled back in the US. I am also married to a military member!

I am fun, empathetic and straight forward. I pride myself on being able to solve problems with bowing, sound production, tone and intonation quickly and efficiently.

William Rose is a free-lance percussionist who has participated in a variety of music programs. He has been drumming for the last 6 years, and has a variety of experience drumming in concert settings, jazz ensembles, and marching. He is currently finishing his Senior Year at Tabb High School, and is hoping to join the CNU Marching Captains while in college. In addition to his percussion experience, he has dabbled in music and sound production.

Really good music teachers who work well with students of various temperaments and abilities are difficult to come by. My goal is to instill a sense of music appreciation, while at the same time teaching students about the technical aspects of music. I feel qualified to teach music and to do so in a way that each student feels special, valued and encouraged. With my real world experience and unique style of teaching I believe I am an ideal musician to study with.

Cello is famous for its deep and warm sound, probably the widest range from low to high register. It is used for solo, chamber music, ensembles, chamber and symphony orchestras.
But the most important cello can change your mind and fulfill your soul like no other instruments !

It is my goal as a teacher to give you the tools to play music but more importantly to create music.

My Teaching Philosophy

Left Hand-
Scales and arpeggios our the bedrock of music. They are the foundation of everything harmonically and melodically. We will begin with learning our major, minor and pentatonic scales and corresponding arpeggios. Once we have an understanding of those we will delve into our modes and more “exotic” scales.

Right Hand-
The right hand is our time machine. It gives us the ability to play in time and with groove and feel. We will work on rhythmic studies string crossings and practicing with a metronome. Remembering music is harmony, Melody and rhythm working as one.

For those who are new to playing music the hardest thing for some to master is rhythm/time keeping. It is the black and white right or wrong of the music world. Often times our want to progress quickly is hampered by skipping over the basic building blocks of rhythm and ...
