I have been teaching 18 years. I started at 17 in Ohio to help out the studio I was taking lessons from.
I am a disabled veteran who taught music in Japan for years and have settled back in the US. I am also married to a military member!
I am fun, empathetic and straight forward. I pride myself on being able to solve problems with bowing, sound production, tone and intonation quickly and efficiently.

As a colleague of Chris' I can heartily recommend his teaching to any trombonists wishing to hone their skills as musicians. Chris focuses on the individual needs of each student, working to tailor his lessons to meet their specific needs and face their unique challenges. His attention to detail and patience helps each student build a strong foundation in musicality and fantastic brass playing. I recommend him highly as both a superb educator and performer!

My son is 12 years old, has been playing Trumpet and Flugelhorn for about 5 years, and he needed a private instruction to take his music to the next level. He has made great progress under Chris' guidance, and his easy going manner has made our son feel very comfortable with the lesson environment. He is very talented, and would highly recommend Chris for anyone looking to further their capabilities.

Really good music teachers who work well with students of various temperaments and abilities are difficult to come by. My goal is to instill a sense of music appreciation, while at the same time teaching students about the technical aspects of music. I feel qualified to teach music and to do so in a way that each student feels special, valued and encouraged. With my real world experience and unique style of teaching I believe I am an ideal musician to study with.
About Conrad
I was introduced to music early on by my parents, particularly my father who is a respectful painter. Being classically trained on the piano I started playing and writing songs at the tender age of seven. My early piano influences are Mozart, Beethoven and Gershwin amongst others. Growing up, I bec

But the most important cello can change your mind and fulfill your soul like no other instruments !

It is my goal as a teacher to give you the tools to play music but more importantly to create music.
My Teaching Philosophy
Left Hand-
Scales and arpeggios our the bedrock of music. They are the foundation of everything harmonically and melodically. We will begin with learning our major, minor and pentatonic scales and corresponding arpeggios. Once we have an understanding of those we will delve into our modes and more “exotic” scales.
Right Hand-
The right hand is our time machine. It gives us the ability to play in time and with groove and feel. We will work on rhythmic studies string crossings and practicing with a metronome. Remembering music is harmony, Melody and rhythm working as one.
For those who are new to playing music the hardest thing for some to master is rhythm/time keeping. It is the black and white right or wrong of the music world. Often times our want to progress quickly is hampered by skipping over the basic building blocks of rhythm and ...

Henri is great!! He is a super experienced and knowledgable drummer (musician) and teacher. He is extremely patient, has taught me my basics, technique, and is very open to teaching what you want to learn, willing to teach you what you are really interested in musically. At the end of every lesson, he reviews what we learned, writes it and lets me video it so I can practice at home. He has been really flexible, patient, laid back and always down to work on whatever you want but great at coming up with lessons that challenge and excite you as well. I could'nt be more pleased with Henri as a teacher. I always look forward to my lessons."

Do you love to sing? We'll take a wild guess and say it wasn't chord progressions and minor scales that caught your interest. But did you know reading music and understanding the theory behind it can actually help you as you learn how to sing? Find out more in this guest post by St. Augustine, FL voice teacher Heather L. Music theory may not be the most glamorous part of being a singer -- after all, no one's analyzing Brahms's first symphony at that summer music festival in town, and …
