I'm 31 years old and I have been playing music in bands of all kinds since I was 15. I practiced 3 years before I actually played with anyone and once I did I learned so much more. I don't want you to make the same mistake, try out my 30 minute discount rate and we can make sure you are having fun and playing music in no time, if you want to expand into harder lessons then we can!

My prices are so I can give each student my undivided attention, even the 30 minute may go on longer if the student is hungry. At these prices I can support as many students that really want to learn as possible no matter what level lessons they buy. I recommend the hour as it will allow for most growth.

I played guitar when I was a boy and now teach Acoustic Guitar plus Electric Guitar and Effects. I specialize in songs from the American Songbook (show tunes movie themes, etc) plus the blues and improvisation for working musicians.

During lessons with me, we will tailor what techniques we study based upon your goals. I will always explain why we are working on certain things and how they fit into your goals as a guitarist. Lessons can be structured with any level or style in mind, whether it be classical guitar performance or simply jamming on an acoustic with friends for fun!

Guitar is my main instrument, I've spent thousands of hours playing and teaching. I can show you how to do pretty much anything you want to do or learn on guitar.

I have always been something of a mathematician at heart, and I believe in teaching students to apply that sort of methodical critical thinking to all aspects of music. I believe that music education should be goal-oriented, but that there are certain aspects of music that are fundamental whether the student wants to play funk, modern extreme metal, or to write the next atonal masterpiece. To this end, I always meet my students where they are and focus on where they want to go, addressing these fundamentals in a way that will be engaging for all.

I encourage students to delve into theory and technique deeply enough that they shift from being sets of rules to being a framework and a tool that can be used (and abused) as needed, and I seek to help my students build the mental and physical roadmaps that they need to achieve this goal.

I also teach lessons specifically designed to help students build confidence and understanding on extended range guitars.

On guitar, my husband and I teach and work with both (CHILDREN AND ADULTS), ages 6 to to Adult of ALL Ages, NO AGE to old.

If you have a desire to learn to play, we can get you started and playing before you know it.

If children who are TOO young, (below 5 or 6) to they sometimes have problems getting their guitar strings to pressed down well enough to sound clear, so we like to at least start with a minimum age of 6 or 7 years old, to be sure they can press their strings down well.
