I have been a Substitute Teacher for the Charles County Public Schools since September 2018. I started working with Grade 1and 2. During the second half of the year, I began to substitute for the 3's, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Grade 1. It wasn't until the second half of the year, I started to enjoy helping children one on one in the Special Education Program. This is where I could concentrate on one or a small group of students who needed extra help with their classwork. I specialize in Reading, Reading Comprehensive, and Writing up to Grades 2. My students have told me that I am patience, I make learning fun, and I am very creative teaching the children at their learning pace.

He is experienced and works well in the current distance-only training environment. He's a very personable and engaging guy, which can be quite important when you're spending hours a day with someone. :)
But what I consider to be his best trait is his ability to assess the needs of the student and adapt his approach as needed, not just to work more on the areas where the student may need more practice, but to see what is working for a student and what is not and then to be willing to completely change his pedagogy to fit that student. This pedagogical flexibility is indeed rare to find in a teacher and, to me, this is what makes Philippe truly special.
I have been working with Phillipe for almost two months. I started with a good command of the langague but needed to improve my fluency for my job. Prior to Phillipe I was completely stressed out with learning French and feeling like I would not succeed. He immediately put all those thoughts to rest, made learning fun, and took the time to understand my goals and how I learn best. He adapted his style to meet them. He made everyday fun and interesting engaging in lively debates and raising my speaking and comprehension levels without me even realizing it. He as a vast library of on-line resources that were great supplements. In two months my fluency increased dramatically, he really took me to the level I need.
Phillipe deserves high praise.

Book NowI've used calculus in my career for 35 years, as a mechanical engineer and a computational physicist. I know how to solve problems from several different perspectives, so if a student is struggling with one method, I have a repertoire of other techniques to deploy. I find that students thrive when they are given solid examples of solutions and the content isn't hidden from them. I can help expand a student's advantage with computational tools such as Excel and Matlab to accelerate knowledge and deeper understanding.
About Thomas
I am a computational physicist and a business strategist with the navy, and an adjunct professor at NVCC in engineering and computer science. I've worked with some brilliant young scientists and engineers from all over the world and I'm a continuous learner. I have a Doctor of Science Degree in F

Book NowHello ! Are you looking for a tutor to guide your learning and answer your questions about your math homework? As a former math student, I earned top grades in all math subjects throughout my elementary, middle, and high school years, including the most difficult subjects such as Calculus and Trigonometry. Although I do not teach those high-level subjects, I have maintained my basic math skills in my everyday activities so I, am confident that I can assist those in remedial learning in the elementary and middle school levels.
Please note: I have had a successful background check recently in Canada. If you would like to take lessons but would like to verify or get an update of my background check status first before proceeding, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Thanks so much!

I AM ETERNALLY GRATEFUL !!!!!!"

You helped my son to understand his math lesson.
Bravo
Warmly"

Hiyab met us online through the Zoom portal and cut straight to the bigger challenge. My son doesn’t know how to organize his homework! Hiyab told him to write his numbers in a smaller size which changed everything -- now there is space on the page to organize his work. He showed my son how to number his homework problems 1), 2), 3). Hiyab gave him a trick to put “/” marks between the steps of his math problems. After my son saw HOW to organize “showing his work”, Hiyab started going through the examples in the workbook which actually teach you how to “show your work”.
I really like our school district. I appreciate our teachers, but they just do not have an hour to sit down with each and every kid to get them on track. It is totally worth it to me to get my son the help he needs from someone like Hiyab -- he is great!"
