I am a professional musician based out of the Washington D.C. area. I am currently a tuba player in The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own."

I believe that having fun, being able to clearly share your musical ideas with others, and being a well-rounded person are an integral to being a musician.

Every student has different goals and desires and I strive to create a specifically tailored course of study with each of my students.

Whether you are just starting out, or are an advanced player, I would be happy to work with you!

Every voice is a unique "living instrument", strongly influenced by so many physical, emotional and psychological factors. In my classes I love to help students exploring their own voice beyond the simple concept of learning a melody and repeating it, showing them how to use their instrument at its full potential of musical expression. I like to teach the technique together with the interpretation, going through every musical style, pop, rock, R&B, soul, country, you name it! I firmly believe that there is something to learn from every genre, and I think that the listening process is an essential step to find our own personal voice. Throughout my career I worked with students of all ages, from 5 to over 60 years old, with different levels of music preparation, from complete amateurs to professional singers.

About Marco

I'm a singer-songwriter, voice teacher and Berklee College of Music alumni. I started my career in Italy, winning national competitions like the Tour Music Fest, and participating to the first edition of the talent show “The X-Factor”. First of all, Marco is a tremendous singer and musical artist, as evidenced by his amazing vocals and songwriting in his original music. He has years of experience singing and performing professionally, and it shows.

Even more importantly, Marco is a spectacular teacher. He is a student of the voice and knows more about the anatomy of singing than anyone I've ever met. He can describe where you should place your sound, pinpoint how your body is affecting your voice, and immediately show you several exercises that target your specific challenge spots.

Marco has also helped me improve so much as a performer and musician; he has challenged me to sing songs that are slightly out of my comfort zone and given me countless tips on how to pay homage to an artist when covering them while still making the song my own. Finally, he has also helped me develop my own musical style as a cover artist and original artist.

I am a composer and have taught professionally for over 20 years. I taught at Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory, Musicians Institute, the Cornel School of Music and the California College of Music.

I worked in New York, Boston and later in Los Angeles with many songwriters, producers and vocalists.
With my songwriting students, I work on their melodic development, chord progressions, song forms and how to create music drawing from the best contemporary resources. As a pianist, composer and producer, I am able to assist in giving shape to the songs and ideas of songwriters.

My classes are always fun, stress free but with a strong curriculum, organized and dynamic.
Onsite, I teach music at my studio in Los Angeles. My studio is located in the historical Village Green.
Online, I teach music via Skype or Zoom using different cameras to enhance the music lesson experience.

I would love to work with you!

I have been looking for somebody to help write and notate my songs. I went to some producers and music teachers for help with my songs. I wish I would have to run into Carlos back then. Carlos is very knowledgeable about songwriting and just music in general. He takes his time to always listen to my ideas and then helps me organize my melodies and chords. He even helps me write my songs down. I am glad I am working with him and would like to recommend Carlos to any songwriter.

What do you offer for a beginner?

Assuming a student has never played a piano and is 10 years old or older, lessons will focus on fundamentals of technique and sight reading classically oriented material. I follow piano curriculum developed by John Thompson and Alfred.

For students under 10 years of age without any prior piano training, a preparatory book may be used.

After a minimum 6-12 months of continuous piano lessons (assuming a weekly schedule), music theory will be introduced, along with chord playing.

What do you offer for a non-beginner?

Assuming a student has had a minimum of one year of continuous piano training, depending on the lesson customization, lessons will be based around the Alfred and/or John Thompson curriculum, and music theory and chord playing will be introduced.

Should a student already know chord playing, I will fast forward the lesson to sight reading lead sheet/fake books and learning pop, rock or jazz piano playing styles (left and ...

Hadi has been a fantastic instructor for my 15 year old son, who was a complete beginner. Under Hadi's patient guidance and thoughtful plan, he is playing well and really enjoys the lessons. I would highly recommend Hadi to anyone regardless of experience level. He has expert knowledge but can talk to and work with novices to get them playing right away.

"What a great experience! I like Ray's approach and his willingness to share no nonsense remarks about his expectations. Yes, practice is key to becoming a good banjo player. Imagine that!
I appreciate the fact that Ray was so open in sharing the fact that many of his students underestimate the importance of regular practice. I whole-heartedly agree. Since we share the same philosophy and approach, this is the start of a great relationship. (Can't give it 5 stars though, solely because of the traffic. The lessons are worth the trip!)"

"I love working with Gabriel! He is so in tune, no pun intended, with me. Each lesson is tailored for me and his encouragement has been priceless. Gabe wants nothing more than for you to be your best self and encourages one to experiment and step out of their comfort zone. Because of this, I have seen such improvement, not only my singing, but in my attitude and confidence in my voice. His lessons are always exciting and I learn something new each time. I look forward to our lessons and his words of wisdom, honest critiques, and knowing I can try anything without judgement."

"Gabbi is an incredibly gifted musician and teaching artist. She was very accommodating with what I needed to accomplish in terms of my goals as a singer. She genuinely cared that I was not only to better myself technically and musically but gave me the mental tools necessary to continue my studies outside of our lessons and onward in my own solo career. Between teaching me proper warm-up exercises and how to physically carry myself while singing and even during day-to-day life, she is incredibly knowledgable on the human voice and all things related. I highly recommend her as a teacher and mentor to anyone who is considering doing so."
