Experienced Cello teacher available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of music knowledge. I specialize Suzuki Method and Traditional Method depending on the students needs. I push to evolve with each student and create a fun a positive environment in which to learn and I strive to help you meet your goals! I plan and offer yearly professional student shows and concerts to give each student a practical application to their studies.

A dedicated pedagogue, Miguel held teaching positions in Europe, North America, and South America.

He holds a doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a master's degree from The International Center for Music at Park University, and a bachelor's degree from the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco.

Learn to play the cello with excellent technique and intonation. You can learn any style, and teacher will work with you to help you learn to read music on the bass clef.

I love playing and teaching the cello, and I'm so excited to share that with you as you learn to play the music you've been hearing in your head. I'll work with you to create a personalized study plan that is engaging, positive, and progress-oriented. My teaching style is as slow as you need, as fast as you can go. Technique should always serve the music, so we'll focus on creating art and telling the story that you want to tell.

Lessons are open to anyone; even if you don’t have a cello yet! I have worked with beginning students learning the basics of reading music, to advanced players & colleagues looking for a careful ear. For learners under 10, I recommend 30-45 minutes. For all other players, there's no time limit; I love to go into details and can work as long as you want! As an educator, my philosophy is to teach my students how to become the best versions of themselves by creating a safe, healthy learning environment. My mission is to cultivate musicians to be the best they can be by receiving a well-rounded music education, developing mastery, and becoming life-long music appreciators. My goal as an educator is to inspire and encourage students to test their limits and strive for musical, personal, and professional growth.
