I've been a professional singer and actress for over twelve years, performing on Broadway in Lincoln Center's Tony-winning Revival of "South Pacific" and touring the county with Rob McClure and Anika Larson in the First National Tour of "Avenue Q." I have an MFA in Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design, graduated summa cum laude, and was the only female recipient of the Presidential Scholarship for Vocal Performance. My BA is in Arts and Education from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
I teach all levels of singing and am familiar with different styles, like contemporary musical theatre, legit, belting, and pop/ rock. As an actor who sings I think it's important to connect with the text and let the vocal technique support those choices for the most compelling performance. My passion is creating audition cuts and crafting them into bite-sized yet complete scenes. Audition technique is key if you want to be in shows because someone has to cast you first. Over 95% of ...

She was very patient with him as he could hardly sit still.
Highly recommended!"

After my first lesson, I left feeling more confident about my abilities. He was able to point out what has been holding me back from using my full voice potential and I have noticed a very significant improvement since day one. Taking lessons with Gabriel is something I look forward too every week. He is a very good instructor!!! I'm constantly learning new skills and many ways to improve in this area, what can I say... I love it!"

It is safe to say that Val is one of the best vocal teachers I have ever worked with. His teaching techniques are unique and modified to fit each students' specific needs. The improvement in my vocal performance is amazing! Additionally, he is fun, and makes you wish each lesson was longer as the time goes by so quickly. Greatly recommended!!!!!"

My favorite times are listening to them and I would love to join in but I am always self conscience and don't want to embarrass them.
When we recently retired I decided to take some classes for enjoyment and also to push myself to conquer some fears..I was going to go to a local music teacher to inquire about singing lesson, but somehow I happened on takelessons.com and was matched up with Mr. Farobag. Lucky me!! I have been taking lessons on Skype for over 6 months now! Farobag is the kindest and the most patient teacher in the world..really, really..he makes me feel like I can keep a tune and that I am capable of improving.
I actually pleasantly surprised my family by volunteering at a camp talent show over the summer. I might not have been the best but I was given a standing ovation for trying. (and probably the oldest up there!)
..and this is the best..I was taking lessons for more than 2 months when I decided to look up Mr. Farobag on the TakeLessons site..Oh My Goodness! I really lucked out - that is all I will say- as I could go on and on about his talents and cv!
Thank You Thank you Farobag for your encouragement."
