With all my students, I emphasize good technique. No matter what genre of music or age of student, singing in a healthful and fun way includes great posture, good breath management, and producing a free and easy sound.I believe that each student has their own unique way of learning, so I tailor my lessons to fit. Immediate feedback and specific practice instructions help my students gain a sense of confidence and assess their progress. Last but not least, singing should be fun!

About Michelle

Instilling and nurturing a love of music and developing musicianship are why I’m a voice teacher. I earned my Master of Music Education degree in 2012 from Boston University, which has furthered my love of teaching and given me even more resources to draw from. With all my students, I emphasize

I worked with Michelle for a little over 2 years. As an adult student, I was super nervous about singing in front of anyone - it took me this long to just sign up for lessons! She was patient with me and gave me lots of tools for dealing with my nerves and stage fright. Michelle helped me to choose songs that I not only wanted to sing but that matched my voice and range. I was hesitant about performing in a recital but Michelle pointed out that it was like training for a marathon - doing all the work but not performing just seemed silly. It wasn't perfect but it was definitely something I'm proud to have crossed off my bucket list.

As every student is unique my teaching style really depends on the student! Some want to learn for fun, others are studying for exams or college. As a result its really important for me to tailor my lessons towards each student and what they would like to work on. For some that could mean working on vocal technique, others working on music and repertoire. I’m adept at adapting to each student’s individual talents and vocal needs and therefore its important that for that each student progresses at a pace that they are comfortable with.

Rosdeli has studied the Voice for 5 years at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary music. Her high level of musicianship continues to lead her to successfully sing in a variety of settings, from an intimate duo to fronting Big Band. Using highly developed vocal instruction methods, Rosdeli specializes in the development and control of the voice, focusing on techniques such as breath control, resonance, and posture. Being that no two voices are the same, Rosdeli listens to each individual student's voice and chooses vocal instructions for their specific voice.

About Rosdeli

Rosdeli is a Vocalist and Songwriter from Queens, New York. Rosdeli found her craft when she was introduced to Jazz. She has shared stages with artists such as Tony Bennett, Lalah Hathaway, and Wynton Marsalis & the JALC Orchestra. In 2016, she received the Downbeat Student Award for Outstanding P

Rosdeli will help you open your throat chakra like a flower, in the way it is meant to blossom. Being around her as my teacher in this setting is more than comforting, it is soothing, it feels natural.

Her methods make SENSE. The student receives immediate feedback from their own vocal channel. With her embodied notions of what she can hear and feel, she intuitively guides you into the direction of what needs to change - so you can open up more.

She is the greatest listener and she has taught me a lot with her listening alone. She is the only person I will ever train with again. Every voice lesson I had before hers was nothing close in comparison.

my lesson with Rosdeli was one of the best experiences with the music teacher I have ever had. She blends a keen sense of intuition unique for every student with a strong foundation of a wide variety of musical training and background. She is thorough , patient, and dedicated to the success of every student. She taught me
warm ups, how to control my voice, different methods of singing, projection, music theory, and ear training.

I have taken private voice lessons for 8 semesters of college and completed a Bachelor's Degree in Music. I am also a Certified Montessori Teacher that knows how to inspire and motivate children to reach their full potential. If your child is a natural musician that has a desire to learn give these lessons a try. Depending on your child's goals, I think it's important to encourage children to improve their music reading skills, learn new songs and have some fun. Reading music takes time and effort, so it's important to have a patient teacher that knows how to inspire your child. With these lessons your child will learn about breath support, increase their range and learn healthy vocal warm-ups. Having a firm foundation can help with any style of singing.

About Lauren

I am a trained opera singer, pianist and performer. I sing for all kinds of audiences ranging from the collegiate level to weddings and even open mic nights. I was a part of auditioned ensembles from High School to College. I sang with the Winthrop Jazz Voices, Honors Choir and the South Carolina

This is not a singing lesson. These are lessons on how to express yourself through song. A lot of people can sing/carry a tune and we WILL fine tune those skills! But it takes a lot to be someone else while you are singing. Tiger Woods doesn't just hit one golf shot, Roger Federer doesn't always hit the drop shot over the net. Being an actor is liking being an athlete. You need a bag of tricks. So let's find what YOUR tricks are in a safe zone where you can fail. Because when you fail, you learn! My lessons will consist of acting and vocal training being taught coincided. I will never promise you a part/a role/acceptance into a large scale school. But I do promise that if you put all the work in, you WILL improve. Let's get started!

About Tristan

I'm a NYC based Actor fresh out of Graduate School. As auditions are closed for a while, I'm going to be teaching lessons to help keep my skills AND YOURS sharp for when that audition season rolls up! I graduated in 2018 with two BA's from the Crane School of Music and SUNY Potsdam; One in Music

I’m a very shy and timid person when I first meet people and it’s something I’ve always struggled with. From the moment Tristan became my teacher though his warm and friendly demeanor helped me get past this struggle almost immediately. He was always willing to teach at a pace that best suited me but also made sure to push me when I needed it. While the lessons with him only lasted for a short period, the experience was worth it. He helped me tune my singing practice to a higher standard and helped me better express the emotions that were being portrayed in each song. Beyond that, he also found moments of fun where we could goof off and relax, even for just a moment, to help calm my anxieties and get me out of my head when I started getting too frustrated or upset with myself for messing up. Despite being on the younger side, Tristan helped me with not only my singing and acting, but helped me better break out of my shell and have more confidence in myself.

Tristan was my voice student for 5 years. He has a extensive knowledge of voice technique. He has a very healthy approach to his own singing and he demands the same of his students!
Kim Marie Lesso
Tristan was employed by my Academy as an Assistant Summer Camp Director. His position required him to teach both acting and singing to our students. He also stepped up and took the Director's position staging and choreographing the skits/extrapolations from Musicals the students performed their last day before an audience.

Tristan has a real great intuition as the to style of learner he works with. He is very quick to taylor his lessons to the needs, performance level and learning style of the student.

I highly recommend Tristan Lesso for your Acting or Vocal lesson needs! He just finished Suma Cum Laude with a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance in Musical Theatre at the Number 1 University for his degree...NYU Steinhardt.

I enjoy the process she applies to keep it positive and fun yet learn the proper fundamentals required to perform well. I actually tried a few vocal teachers and Kim with her wisdom and experience made it simple who to go with!!"

"I Left My First Session SO EXCITED!!!

I didn't realize so much could be accomplished in an hour, but I left our first lesson with an understanding about where I'm at with my voice, what is special about my voice, and feeling really excited and encouraged with where my voice can go. Vanessa was VERY patient with me, as I'm very much out of practice, but it took her no time at all to pin point my trouble spots and she quickly had other suggestions if certain exercises didn't work for my voice. After our session, I drove away in my car just beaming and I couldn't stop singing. Can't wait for our next session!"

"Tina gives very clear, precise instruction with modeling and practice. She lets you know what your goals are and how you are going to work toward them, and follows up the lesson with a written recap of everything you went over. The only thing that I am sorry about is that I did not record everything we practiced. She was more than happy to let me record whatever I needed, but I only recorded one thing and I already forgot the other two things! Anyway, I am happy with the instruction. :)"

Teach Yourself to Sing on Key With These 5 Tools

If you're looking to teach yourself to sing on key, it's important to remember that it has as much - if not more - to do with training your ear as it does with training your voice.  And since we can't hear ourselves sing accurately, we need recording equipment or another trusted pair of ears to check our results. With the advent of smartphones and tablets, tools that will help you teach yourself to sing on key are now readily available alongside more traditional methods. Here are five methods y …
