Learning or perfecting skills can often feel intimidating and challenging at times. In each personalized lesson, it is my goal that you feel encouraged and appreciated for the unique singer or learner you are. I will give you the tools you need to become a confident and composed performer and to reach your goals as a student. I will provide fun and interactive exercises that help you master the basics of breath, posture, tone, diction, and the foundations of musicianship. Students will learn how to prepare a song and how to present a song in dramatic and interpretive form. Students will learn how to prepare for auditions and competitions (choral, solo, theatre role, etc.), and how to overcome stage fright and other challenges that are unique to live performance. I teach all levels of Singers, except very advanced. My emphasis is on teaching the best techniques possible for any style of singing. My emphasis is on the "Classics", because when you learn these techniques, you can sing anything!

I've been singing professionally & learning voice myself for over 25 years ~ I focus on breath control, body awareness, vocal ranges, manipulation of sounds, placement/delivery, using one's belting voice properly, performance, ear training, harmony, solfeggio, reading music if one is interested etc. I teach everything from Contemporary/Pop, R&B, & Soul to Jazz, to Punk Rock & Indie Rock to Country to Musical Theater ~ everything but full on Opera, but I did study Opera for 1 year. I love teaching Voice and helping people discover their own unique sound.

General singing lessons are for those who simply wish to improve their voice without necessarily committing to a particular style.

You will learn what I call the technical non-negotiables to great singing. I have broken down systematically what is exclusively necessary to singing at a high, yet achievable level in every given style.

Once this is established then what we are left with can be categorized as artistic choice and preference.

As a vocal coach, you will find that I work from the perspective of a technician. My work is only enhanced by my knowledge and specialization of vocal intonation, which has allowed me to make these distinctions. This is precisely why I am not limited (nor confused by) to any one style.
