Private Saxophone Teacher

My objective as a teacher is to ensure I am positioned to motivate students to develop their careers in music and also in critical thinking — to ensure students establish a connection with their audiences through live performances and meet the requirements of professional musicians in the current musical climate.

My approach to private lessons builds from two principles: creative thinking and application. To that end, I explicitly incorporate questions for the students in my lesson plan. I encourage students to ask questions and help them to solve the problems themselves.

About kenny

I believe in private lessons and I’ve been teaching since 2004 and this is what I learned from my previous students. To learn effectively and efficiently, you have to practice and find your way to get better every practice session. I will teach you how to become an artist, saxophonist, musician, an

My son who plays in high school honors band is taking alto sax lessons with Maureen for past few months. Maureen is an amazing teacher, very detail oriented focused. My son has learned advanced techniques and won few medals at state level with superior rating of 1. I would highly recommend Maureen, she is a fabulous saxophone teacher who is actively involved and renowned personality in music community with playing in many DC metro area concerts. My daughter enjoyed learning clarinet with Tyler. As another reviewer has noted, Tyler is a gentle and patient teacher. My daughter could be difficult during lessons and often got distracted, and Tyler was great at steering her back on track and engaging her through new music and exercises.
Katrin
Tyler was the piano teacher for our two daughters for almost 5 years. They were piano beginners aged 4 and 6 when we started. My daughters are more on the shy side, and Tyler ended up being the perfect teacher for them. He is gentle and patient but at the same time got them excited about learning the instrument and playing music of different genres. My daughters enjoyed the lessons very much and they were sad to see Tyler leave for New York. I can highly recommend Tyler as a teacher especially for shy beginners like my daughters were.
Paul
My son's comment was that Tyler was the best music teacher he ever had and he has had a lot. He misses him a lot.
