Hi!
I am an Assistant Band Director at a Middle School and an Elementary band director in Fairfax County. I'm looking to grow my percussion studio.
I teach classical percussion including mallets, snare and timpani. Teaching 4-mallets is my specialty. I have taught award winning marching bands and indoor drumlines for the last 13 years. Many of my students have made all-district band, all-state band and senior regional orchestra.
Private lessons are a great way for any student to better enjoy their experience in a school music program. Whether your student is having difficulty with their instrument, is an average player aspiring to become one of the best in the class, or is already quite accomplished and ready to reach full potential, private lessons will enhance their experience in band exponentially.

Garrett is a DJ, producer, drummer, educator, and business owner based in Los Angeles, and San Diego, CA. In addition to working with jazz ensembles and symphonies, he performs regularly with local pop/rock bands, and works as a freelance DJ under the moniker “Seth Vitál”. Garrett has a B.A. in Music from the University of California, San Diego, where he studied under two-time Grammy award-winning producer/arranger Kamau Kenyatta, and was awarded the university's 2017 Jazz Society Award. His performances have allowed him to open for acts such as Khalid, DJ Mustard, Schoolboy Q and Bad Suns.

In addition to performing, Garrett maintains private studios in North Hollywood and East San Diego County where he produces his own music/DJ mixes, composes for various high schools, and teaches DJing, drum set, and percussion to over 20 weekly private students. How you do that is dependent on the instrument, the mallet choice, the striking area, the touch, and many other factors. I want to help you with these so you can progress faster, learn how to think about these choices quicker and easier, so you can make BETTER music FASTER!

Experienced music teacher of 7 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I have played on Drum lines for close to 10 years. I have also been the assistant directer of CYO Emerald Knights Drumline and Director of the BSCS Drumline.
