About Marlisa
I am a potter who specializes in functional tableware. I teach in my studio and also at local art centers. I teach throwing on the potter's wheel and hand-building. My work has been exhibited in national juried shows.

I also am a textile artisan. My love is doll-making, in the Waldorf style. I teach knitting (Continental style), crochet, and sewing.

My other love is gardening. I grow tree and herbaceous peonies. My cottage style garden is planted for fragrance and naturalness. I emphasize growing perennials because their beauty increases each year.

I have had nothing but the best experience working with Marlisa. She is patient, she takes the time to verify that you've grasped a concept you're struggling with and works to find the best way to communicate with YOU. I don't think anyone would regret spending an hour or two learning and chatting with Marlisa. I feel so inspired and more confident each time I leave a session. If you're on the fence about trying this; don't hesitate!

Marlisa is a very kind, patient and knowledgeable teacher. I took my granddaughter to her for a pottery lesson and she was very happy with Marlisa's teaching, resulting in her being able to throw a bowl on the wheel that she can actually use. I would highly recommend Marlisa as a teacher for students of all ages!

Marlisa is an awesome teacher. I took a pottery class at Glen Echo years ago and was very disappointed, but with Marlisa's excellent teaching skills and enthusiasm for the art, I left her studio feeling like I wanted to buy a wheel and start throwing. I appreciate her hands-on approach and always felt taken care of attended to. Marlisa is a true artist and excellent teacher!!! I highly recommend her.

About Rhiannon
My name is Rhiannon and I am a third generation crafter. Originally I went to school for art history, all the while crafting. Eventually I had enough of studying other people's work and instead wanted to make my own and empower others to do the same.

I consider myself to be the "Swiss Army Knife" of crafters. I have delved into nearly every craft and love passing this knowledge onto my students. For these reasons I have a diverse range of crafts I can teach, including: knitting, crochet, embroidery, hairpin lace, needle felting, and shuttle tatting. In addition to my passion for a variety of crafts, I also love teaching a variety of skill levels, from students beginning their first stitch to someone who wants to redesign a pattern.

With a positive attitude and a willingness to learn I can teach you any of a variety of crafts.

Myself and a co-worker spent 3 lunch hours with Rhiannon learning the basics of crochet. Rhiannon taught us the various stitches and patiently worked with us until we were comfortable with each one. She also directed us to an online resource to support her instruction that we could refer to as needed. This was our first online lesson of any kind and we were extremely happy with what we learned and the convenience of learning it online. Thank you Rhiannon. :)

My first class with Mya Mya was excellent. I had taken a class prior to this and was not feeling confident about my abilities until I met Mya Mya. If you're thinking about sewing and need help. I would encourage you to meet with an instructor first one-on-one before taking a class or online training. The instructor and can help guide you better. I'm so glad I learned about this instructor. You will not be disappointed.

About Amy
I have been crocheting for over 15 years and knitting for over 5 years. My true passion is knitting but I teach both. I taught for Michael's craft stores for a little over a year and then decided to venture out on my own and teach privately until I am able to reach my ultimate goal of owning my own yarn store. My current students say I have a lot of patience and am a joy to learn with. I can teach anywhere from beginner lessons to advanced techniques such as cables, lace and socks.

Amy knows a LOT of details about a LOT of different techniques for Knitting! She has been incredibly easy to listen to & learn from as her voice is gentle, feminine & soothing to take in & she’s pretty to look at :) There is a cleanliness in spirit that I see, feel and take in during my time with her & that I appreciate very much. It’s a truly kind, fun and holistic experience learning from her. It’s like learning from a loving guardian or elder sister... it’s a sweet, easy & spiritual experience learning from Amy! I am very grateful! Thank you so very much.

About Olivia
I began studying astrology in 2010 after moving to a remote area for a change of scenery and received my certification from The School of Evolutionary Astrology in 2013.

On a personal level, I started looking into astrology because I felt my sign didn’t hit every angle of my being. When I read about other signs growing up, I always felt a part of me identified with each of them. I began my studies with the intention of discovering for myself if astrology was “for real” and it lead me to a treasure trove of self-discovery.

A common misconception about astrology is that it will tell you your future and it’s set in stone. In medieval times, when astronomers and astrologers were one in the same, astrology was only practiced with royalty to discern the potential of an heir. Those times were fragile for humanity day to day, and had a ten
dency to view cause and effect on a fatalistic scale.
Centuries later, the understanding of Astrology and its concepts have evolved. Particularly in Evolutionary Astrology, each soul has free will, there is no sealed fate. What it does show us is the potential of each soul. The planets provide the energy to produce the opportunities for the potential, the soul gets to choose to take it and if so, how it takes it.

It is my belief that astrology provides an empowering method of self-discovery. It is a central focus in my teaching to create an encouraging and safe atmosphere that allows students to look at dynamics in their lives and not only understand the root of it, but provide practical tools that help heal and lead to solutions. With this, I maintain a comfortable pace when working with more sensitive topics and areas of experience to prevent overwhelm.

Although astrology is a metaphysical and occult subject, my approach in teaching does not stray from “the real world”, so to speak. My students aren’t left in the fog deciphering whimsical metaphors that they can’t apply to their everyday life. They gain through each lesson a more comprehensive understanding to what they can utilize as a universal language. My rule of thumb is that if you can label opposing themes, hot vs. cold or wet vs. dry, then you can l learn astrology. If you find yourself connecting symbols throughout your day, you can learn astrology.
