I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I have been teaching professionally for 17 years
It is important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson.
I try to find out what student is interested in, and guide my instruction according to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.

Vocal lessons are geared toward the student's level of training and style desired.

There are so many colors to the human voice. Unlike most instruments, the human body does not show us what note we are playing or how the air is inhaled in to our stomach. So we end up feeling our way through, using our imagination. This is where the magic happens. In class and outside of it, muscle memory takes its natural course and we begin creating a unique and practical "navigation map" of your voice.
Whether you feel like letting out some steam, working on those high notes or designing your own sound; I am excited to meet you! I have studied (and still studying - learning is endless...) many different techniques and am very committed to sharing what I know with patience and passion.

As a former teacher of voice at the University of Southern California and having worked with singers of all styles and levels including the voices from the Met, LaScala and Liturgical Services singing I can help you in finding your voice and expressing the music you feel.

I can teach you in any style of singing and all styles of music. My specialty is Classical Music, but a healthy foundation is a must for all music and for all singing. I will teach you how to warm up your voice professionally so that you will never hurt yourself. How to develop the power to be heard at the back of a large theater without blowing out the flame of a candle in front of you. I can teach you the art of circular breathing which is beneficial not only to players of wind instruments but also to singers as well. There are a number of reasons someone may wish to take music lessons. Whatever the specific reason, striving to achieve one’s “artistic truth” is the goal. My holistic view of education is to help a student find his/her own individual “voice” as a singer and a creative artist. I believe the role of an educator is not to relay information in a detached context, what I call teaching “at” a student, but to lead that student in a discussion of the music, pulling information from the student in a collaborative effort between two or more individuals. It is my goal to facilitate an emotionally safe environment for students to take risks, make mistakes, listen critically, and articulate his/her thoughts. We work towards freedom of expression and letting go of fear. Fear is the single greatest enemy of any artist: If you're afraid of how your music will go, you won't be making art.
