Each lesson is tailored to fit each individual student. We will cover genres of music that is of interest to you, using music you enjoy most so learning the guitar will be fun. Even if you have experience playing guitar, I will be able to show you alternative strum patterns, picking patterns, useful techniques, tricks and short-cuts to make playing easier. This applies to whether you are learning acoustic, classical or electric guitar. I have a blast teaching and my students have fun learning!

As a teacher I am very patient with students and enjoy helping them reach their own musical goals. I emphasize knowing the basics and encourage students to study music theory and basic reading of standard notation. I always ask my students to bring in songs they want to learn as a way to motivate them to practice more.

*** Lesson Details ***
GUITAR: I expect my students to practice at least 5 days a week for at least a 1/2 hour per day. I use the Suzuki method for young students ages 8 to10. We continue learning basic folk songs by ear and then start reading standard notation and basic theory within 6 to 8 months along with classical guitar duets. For older students I use the Hal Leonard guitar method. After 3 months of lessons students can expect to know the basic open position chords and strum patterns to some basic songs as well as some famous guitar riffs and also be able to read some basic melodies in standard notation. Guitar is my principle instrument. There is nothing I can't teach you when it comes to this instrument.

If you wish to learn guitar as a performer, I am the coach for you. Unlike other coaches, I also offer a Master Class for those who wish to sing & learn an instrument. In this class you will learn more than the fundamentals. Besides, strum/picking techniques, bar chords, chord progressions & the music theory, the master class will cover, microphone technique's used while performing, Eye contact with audience and using other chord inversions that help this process. My regular classes are packed with key focus on the fundamentals. I offer packed sessions with the fun of progress. Parents tell me that I have a wonderful way with there kids and my adult students are thriving. I have a number of budding stars that are learning how to play in a band, how to perform as a soloist, or how to combine singing with learning the guitar. I've been playing guitar for about 10 years and have a lot of experience playing in metal bands, jazz bands and alternative bands. In addition I have access to both electric and acoustic guitars, and have a great home studio perfect for practicing.
