My approach is about getting you playing your favorite songs quickly, and understanding the musical concepts behind what you're playing. You'll learn the concepts and techniques to improve your playing, while learning that new smash hit you cant get out of your head!

I believe that learning music should be as fun and inspiring as it can be to play. We all have a vast wellspring of creative energy within us, and the goal of the relationship between the student and the teacher is to help nurture and develop that latent talent. For this reason, my approach to teaching music is highly individualized. I start out with the premise that the student has unique gifts and my job is to help them discover what those are, and develop and refine them in order to make beautiful and deeply satisfying music, through whatever instrument and in whatever style they are drawn towards.

Depending on one's starting level of experience, some basic exercises will be assigned to develop core skills, with increasing levels of technical challenge and complexity. Elements of music theory will be woven into practical lessons. I have been playing the guitar for 15 years. As a graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University, I have been teaching guitar and ukulele lessons as well as classes since the spring of 2017. I hold a bachelor's degree in music performance with my primary instrument being the guitar.
I can help you to acquire a solid foundation of music theory knowledge. You can help to better understand music theory concepts if they are paired with guitar techniques to supplement them.
If you are a complete beginner, do not be afraid! I will help you to learn at a pace which is comfortable but still effective for you. These lessons will be focused and designed to fit YOUR needs. Let's learn together :)

HI! My name is Andrew, i'm 31 years old and I am a passionate guitarist and educator. I have been Playing guitar for 11 years now and i'm looking forward to sharing some of my knowledge with you! My specialties include blues, funk, classic soul, neo-soul, and a bit of jazz. I also recently graduated from The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London for studying guitar performance. I have a very relaxed attitude towards teaching and try to make my students feel welcome while creating a pleasant learning environment.
