I started voice lessons with Celine back in September/October. I didn't know much about proper and healthy technique as well as proper breathing. Celine taught me all of that and not only that but how I should treat my body by eating healthy and working out.

Since the beginning my voice has become stronger. I am able to sustain longer phrases in singing, the use of dynamics and proper placement when singing. I can't believe how far I have become! I sang all my life but I was singing with the worst technique possible. Celine has helped me to find my true voice and soon it will all come together!

I take lessons with Celine once a week and I enjoy her enthusiasm and kindness even if I don't do my best. Thank you Celine for helping me reach my dream faster to become a great singer!

Broadway/Musical Theater has a rich and exciting history, evolving from opera to operetta, to major movie productions from the golden era of Hollywood in the 1940's/ 1950's to radical social and political themes from the 1960's (a la Hair) to present day Hamilton. We survey this history with songs spanning the Musical Theater genre, and focus on songs of student's choosing. Exploration of story-line, character study, and "song as monologue" are major considerations within lessons. Audition preparation can be part of the lessons as indicated by the student. In terms of the Broadway "sound", we use exercises that expand the voice in volume, range and emotional expression.

About Rachel

A graduate of Duke Ellington School for the Arts and the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Rachel Panay is a 6 time Billboard Club charting singer/songwriter in the Dance music genre. She recently returned to her musical theatre roots appearing as Rose in Theatre Lab's production of The Secret

Rachel has taught our son since first grade; he's now in third. She's tailored lessons to his musical taste (the Beatles) while providing a strong foundation on which to build. She's been very flexible and accommodating throughout the switch from in-person to remote lessons, and he really enjoys the time with her. Knowing that so many kids are motivated by short-term goals, she's planned even more recitals during this remote time than when they were solely in-person, and that's been a great motivator for our son to practice.

DO NOT BOOK WITH RACHEL PANAY RAZIEL
It is with deep regret that I have to report that Rachel was clearly INTOXICATED during her lessons with my children today (ages 14 & 11). We will not be using Take Lessons again. There is no way an app can sufficiently vet all these teachers. Please don’t put your children in danger and learn this lesson the hard way like we didi.

Rachel is a great teacher for my 12 year old child. Rachel builds her confidence and meets her exactly where she is at. I highly recommend her.

As a musician, I wear many hats: opera singer, voice teacher, choir director, cantor, accompanist, and vocal coach. I work with singers of all levels - I believe that everyone can learn to sing, and that my job as a voice teacher is to help each student uncover what is unique and special about his or her own voice. My foundational training is classical singing, and those principles are what I teach, but I also try to help students apply healthy singing to whatever style they wish to sing. Whether you are looking for basic vocal technique, specific audition prep, solfege and sight-singing, or performance coaching, let me know how I can best help you achieve your goals! I hope that all of my students develop not only their skills as singers and performers, but also along the way develop and nourish a love of music and music-making.

About Stephen

I’m an opera singer based in Austin, TX, a city I’ve called home for the past 9 years. In addition to both classic and contemporary opera, I perform a wide range of repertoire: musical theater, Gregorian chant, choral music, you name it! I hold a Bachelor of Music degree from Texas Tech Unive

"I have had a few voice teachers over the past couple of years and Stacey is by far my favorite. She is patient and dedicated to making her students better. She is very good at explaining the techniques that are vital to singing correctly - breathing, jaw placement, posture, etc. In my case, she has helped me immensely with my confidence in auditions. I have landed two roles since I have been studying with her! She's fun, funny, welcoming, super easy to work with and sing in front of! Take from her!"

"Molly is the best!! Book your appointment now!! She helped my son prepare for his elementary school audition of Annie. She was encouraging and patient, especially when my son was tired and frustrated. She helped us narrow down the song selection so that it would be similar to the part he was trying for....and guess what? He got the part!! Rooster!! We can't thank her enough and look forward to lessons with her again soon!! Thank you Molly!!"
