On electric guitar I enjoy teaching rock n roll. Anything from soft rock to Metal. Teaching electric guitar is my favorite instrument because I resonate the most with it. I can teach theory, ear training, scales, chords and how to pull it all together to make your own music. Let me know if you have a specific style or any questions.
I teach Skype Beginner, Intermediate and Advance guitar lessons and local students can come to my home where I have a music studio.
Please feel welcome to view current pictures of some of my students and my YouTube videos as well.
I teach music theory, all scales, chords, ear training, songs and more. Please contact me with a specific question about how or what i teach.
You will have a direct contact with me Monday-Saturday for any questions that may arise after our lesson during the week. I make extra practice videos, e-mail PDF files and my lessons are custom for every student.
My approach as a music teacher is to first teach the student to relax and have fun with their instrument. I use backing tracks to help the student feel a beat or groove to a song. This is very important. Theory, technic and ear training are important but useless if the student doesn't first feel and enjoy music. We all sing along and dance to our favorite songs but in many cases, the joy goes away when we begin to actually study music. I don't want to take the joy away. First we have fun. Playing is learning.
Hello everyone. My name is Mitch and I hope to be your music teacher soon! I have been teaching music since 2000, I have a degree in Music Education. Music is undoubtedly my number one passion and teaching it to others is most fulfilling. I have been in various bands and musical productions and I am currently holding the position of Assistant Director of Contemporary Music at the Church in which my family attends. I don't use your lesson time as my "show off time". I expect students to practice daily and attend lessons prepared and ready to build on the previous lesson. I cherish the long term relationships I have with my students, former students and parents. I hope to welcome you into that circle and help you build the skills necessary to color your life with music.
I have been taking electric guitar lessons for a few months. I learned a lot in those few short months. He has a lot of talent and is a great teacher.

I have been taking drum lessons with Mitch for over 2 years. He is a great teacher!
October 16, 2018
Mitch is very attentive to a student's level of learning and is patient with the student. But if a given lesson is quickly learned, he moves forward right away. This means to me he pays attention to what is going on and is flexible to help the student get the best use of their time.
I can teach acoustic or electric guitar, this is up to the student. I'm also prepared to teach any particular style that's preferred on either instrument.
I've been playing guitar for about 15 years now and I've played in just about every type of band. After playing in a metal band for about 5 years I switched over to a classic rock group for a couple years. In both of those groups I was lead guitar/lead vocals. Now for the last few years I've been playing lead guitar in a country/rock band called Faith Bardill for a vocalist who has won several awards including best female country artist and best teen artist. I enjoy playing any style of music and I'm very excited to help new students realize their potential. I'm prepared to teach from home in a comfortable room I've dedicated to teaching and studio work. I'm also happy to go to the student for their convenience or give lessons online. My personal passion is to make music my life. I want to give lessons, play shows and record my
way through the years. I have enormous enthusiasm when it comes to music and I bring that to the lessons I give.
I tried learning guitar a number of years ago. Garrett was great getting me started back into guitar. He quickly got me going with some simple chords and techniques. He has a strong understanding of guitar and makes it easy to understand. + he can play anything!
January 15, 2019
What can I say about Garrett. I have never met a better guitarist in my 20 years of playing. Taking lessons with him was one of the best decisions I ever made. I would pay him double. No matter the guitar style, Garrett seems to have played it for years and has real insight on any of the different styles from Blues, to Country, to Rock, to Classic Rock, to Metal. He helped me not just learn riffs or songs but scales and has bug in teaching me more advanced music theory as well. He truly is the perfect mix of good person and amazing guitarist. Don’t miss the chance to learn from one of the best no matter your skill level!

Mr. Sylvester is one of the greatest. He is not just an amazing guitarist, but he is also very kind. He treats people with so much respect. He speaks to me and my mom so nicely. He is very patient. He has a deep knowledge of music and knows how to get the most out of even the least talented people (like me!). He doesn't ever get mad if you make a mistake or forget to bring your music notes. We were so lucky to find Mr. Sylvester.

Mark is a talented musician who plays and teaches multiple stringed instruments. His lessons are always informative and supportive. They are driven by the student’s interest, so anything you want o learn— styles of music, how to do a particular technique, music theory— you can bring to class. And every now and then he organizes a recital— terrifying but great practice!
