ESL/ELL STUDENTS

Teaching non-English speaking students the basic AND advanced fundamentals of English. The seven parts of speech taught are nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and int

Tom works at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels as an adult education instructor providing English instruction to classes or individual students.

As an ESL teacher, developing a curriculum he takes an overall approach to English study that focuses on a specific aspect of language use, such as life skills, literacy, or vocational and workplace English competencies. Both approaches involve teaching his students basic English skills, such as listening, reading, writing and speaking.

The Pedagogical Foundations Of EnglishCentral

Hello, my name is Meagan D., and I recently moved to the Washington, DC area from Michigan. I attended Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI. I got my Bachelor's of Science Degree, and a Michigan's Provisional Teacher's Certificate. My major was Mathematics Teaching and Elementary Education. I have taught students from 2 years old to college students. I am certified to teach Kindergarten through 5th grade all subjects, 6th through 8th grade math, or Kindergarten through 8th grade all subjects self contained. I teacher assisted in Michigan with 5th grade, and started working at their after school program with 5th and 6th grade. I student taught Kindergarten in Michigan. I taught 5th grade in Tanzania, and student taught 4th grade in Mexico. This past year, I taught 4th grade math, reading, language arts, science, and religion.
I also taught 3rd grade religion as well as dance after school. I would love to teach you!

Meagan is very flexible and is a great teacher. She doesn't make the student feel self-conscious about answering wrong, She gently asks the student to explain how they came up with the answer and allows them to correct themselves. If the student doesn't realize their error during the explanation, she explains to the student wherein the equation they made an error. She also repeats the problem areas with the student until they have a full understanding of the process.

I sought Meagan out after my daughter came home with a failing grade in Algebra I. I am very happy with my selection, she is the perfect fit for my daughter. She is very flexible and I appreciate that she doesn't make my daughter feel like her lack of understanding of the subject matter makes her inadequate. I am going to continue hiring Meagan for the duration of the school year, my daughter really likes her and is learning far more than she is from her regular classroom environment.

It was my daughter's first contact with professional acting.
She has been talking about being an actress for quite a while now, so we decided to let her take a few lessons to see if she likes it.
Ollie was really comprehensive of our needs and made us see the big picture of that world... just what we needed, to start walking into that direction on the right path.

I want to share my love of writing with my students. The written word is still considered to be highly valued in the Unites States and it is essential in everyday life. I do teach with vocal exercises because without them no changes will be made and that's the whole point right to change your voice? However you do get to sing songs. Love the way Cathy relates to my 6 year old granddaughter...she is very hands on in a positive and upbeat manner and gets down to eye level when getting her point across. Has the child feel her jaw for example to learn the best position for a voice exercise. Then she often asks if the child understands what she is saying, asking for a return demonstration and verbal response of “yes’. And she reinforces success while repeating directions for mistakes...just a great teacher.
