Good habits and an excellent attitude make great cellists. It doesn't hurt to love music too. I love music and I love to share my passion with my students.
Having a teacher who is an experienced performer is an important quality in a teacher. I am a professional classical musician currently working as a freelance cellist in the Chicago area. I play with Chicago Philharmonic, the Northbrook Symphony, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Northwest Indiana Symphony, among others. Before coming to Chicago I played for 13 seasons with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.
I have taught privately for over 10 years including 2 years in Paris. My teaching is a reflection of my teacher, Phillippe Muller. I studied with Msr. Muller while studying at the Paris Conservatory. Msr. Muller is currently a Professor of Cello at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
Even though I have been teaching and performing on the cello for most of my life, it's not all there is to who I am. I am a chef (almost--12 weeks to go), a mom, a wife. I have a cute little Tibetan Terrier that loves visitors. My husband and I love hiking in beautiful places. Studying with m

I took many years of piano when I was younger, and after a long time away from it I decided to jump back in.
At the recommendation of my own piano teacher, I thought I might try my hand at teaching!
I am experienced teacher in general - I have been teaching dance for 12 years, and I have tutored students in many different subjects at all grade levels. I enjoy teaching and sharing what I know and enjoy with others.
Since I am new to teaching piano, I will be offering lessons at a much lower rate (for a limited time) than what I charge for dance lessons.
If you are new to piano, and want some help learning your way around the keys, and getting an idea of the building blocks of music, a few chords, how to read music, how to listen for and learn a melody by ear, a little technique and and some exercises for dexterity and ease, I can help you get started!
If you're not ready to commit or hire an expensive instructor just yet (note: experienced instructors who have studied ...

I teach classical broadway as late as Andrew Lloyd Webber, focusing on the ballad aspects and legit singing.

Also just a super warm and authentic person. Overall a great experience!
As an accomplished singer herself, she is able to identify challenging areas and help improve technique. I’m now attempting pieces with confidence that I never would have attempted previously. And, I find the sessions very relaxing and enjoyable. She inspired me to push myself further and feel like I’m getting great results! Well worth the investment.

Mr. Cooper is very patient with the student and stresses on learning the correct technique while playing the piano. He is very respectful and encouraging and sets goals for the student to achieve along the way. He pays attention to very small details and works with the student till they master each piece. I would recommend Mr. Cooper to anyone who is looking for a piano teacher!"
I started out as a complete beginner and was shy and lacked confidence to sing in front of other people. I've been taking voice lessons with Jessica for six months now and keep taking them because it's fun & I feel I've improved. Jessica has been honest & given me constructive feedback. She is focused on helping me during our lessons. It's fun to sing while she plays the guitar and she's also introduced me to music that I think is good to work with for my voice. Now I am much more comfortable than before with singing. I highly recommend Jessica."
Alyssa really helped her get through many of the issues she was having with a new instrument and new high school band.
We will go back to her again for sure!"
I enjoy seeing Ms. Chelsea every week. She makes me feel comfortable and relaxed while working on my vocal techniques. She explains everything . She does not make things confusing and we laugh. I have noticed a big change and feel more confident in myself. She is Awesome!!!"
