Singing techniques in a Classical/Operatic style voice, audition preparation, repertoire includes Art song and Opera Arias in German, French, Italian and English.

Having studied opera in college, I understand and will teach the correct breathing, posture, and technical skills required. I believe the techniques and skill set required for opera singing are useful for many other styles of singing as well. A classically trained student will find that other genres come more easily as a result of their training.

Lisa is a visionary teacher, professional musician and arts advocate. She is an active singer, actress, director, pianist, clinician, conductor and adjudicator. More importantly she is a mentor, an educator and encourager to thousands of performers. Lisa Kay has performed professionally for twenty years as a soloist in opera, oratorio, recital, musical theatre and jazz. She has taught in summer programs in Rome, Viterbo and throughout the US. She has served as music professor at several institutions including Colorado Christian University. She is a published playwright, a national drama critic and an acclaimed director and performer. She is passionate about the arts and empowering artists.

I teach singers of all genres (country, classical, pop, bluegrass, rock…) to sing with confidence and freedom!

I teach an open throat technique (appoggio) that allows the singer to sing with freedom, and access their entire range evenly. I also work with students to develop style, interpretation, languages, and acting ability.

You can expect to have fun while learn how to sing Opera. All the drama, acting, stage movement, make up will be part of your singing craft.

Hi! My name is Amy Gruber and I've been teaching voice since 1995! I am here for my students in everyway. If you have a goal, I will get you there. If you are unsure then I can guide you to something greater. My major instrument is voice, and I continuously study, hone, and polish my instrument to keep myself current, so I can be the best teacher I can be for my students. I am currently continuing my Opera studies with Julia Koci, a renowned Opera singer from Austria. You can catch her at the Volksoper if you are ever in Vienna!
I am a certified music teacher k-12 and have a BS in Music Ed with a concentration in vocal studies from Hofstra University and an MS in Foundations of Ed also from Hofstra. I sang professionally as well as taught general music, voice, and choral groups while employed by the Brentwood music Department on Long Island for several years before having kids. I teach all voice types and ages 8 and older. The vocal repertoire taught in my studio includes; classical, musical theater, opera, jazz, and folk song.

I have been trained in opera, and have competed in many competitions with opera arias. I have also performed in a few operas myself. Opera is for students who have already learned the fundamentals of signing, and are ready to move onto this specific style of singing.
