About Lily
Hey! My name is Lily! I just love sewing! I've been sewing for the past decade, I've sewn everything from dresses to sleepers. I really want to share the love of sewing with you. I hope you can love sewing as much as I. I look forward to spending time with you!

The way that I teach is to help the student develop their own style. I have students work on their own individual projects that they pick out. And, asking me about questions that they might have while the4y are doing their project.

However, if they would like there is an option for me to develop lessons for the student on certain sewing techniques that the student could learn. Although, be aware that learning how to sew takes time and that all the techniques of sewing cannot be done all at once.

Then, there is the third option that the lesson could be a mix of the stude
nt doing what they want (choosing their own project) and learning some pre-designed techniques.

Great first lesson. Kathleen contacted me in advance to find out what I’d like to work on and she was prepared with several options tonight. Her helpful tips on folding and diagram reading were just what I was looking for. We agreed on the next piece and I’m already looking forward to our next lesson. Thank you!

I was looking for a boost to my new hobby with origami, and have had two lessons so far with Kathleen. I couldn't be happier with the lesson experience; her approach is detailed, clear, easy to follow along with and relaxed. She was even folding upside down from her point of view so that I could see from across the table. I was really impressed. There's nothing like learning from a real person. Definitely looking forward to more lessons in the future.

This includes my time instructing a competitive and successful high school chess team as well as serving as a personal tutor for different people in their homes. Of the hours I have formally tutored, I have amassed a 5 star rating on a comparable website.

I have been coaching chess for 2-3 years. I have been passionately studying the game of chess for 13 years. I am currently a 1939 USCF player (Class A player). My highest rating was 1983. But I am committed to go to 2200+ USCF player (National Master player). I have won several chess tournaments as well.

I am currently coaching 7 students to go above and beyond their expectations. If you hire me as your coach, I will take you above and beyond your expectations in the game of chess. My coaching style is hands on, which means that I provide move by move feedback. My coaching philosophy is grounded in encouragement and meticulous game review. My one student that I have been coaching for 2 years went from never playing chess to a 1350 USCF chess rating.

I graduated from Kutztown University of PA in 2013 with a B.S. in Biology: Molecula
r/Micro/Cell with two Minors in Mathematics and Biochemistry. I have such a passion for math, science, and chess. And I try to live with that passion everyday and show that passion to people everyday.

My son was tutored by Matt in Biology. Matt's subject matter expertise and enthusiasm for the subject had a positive impact on my son's academic performance in 9th grade Biology.

Matt partners well with parents, is very responsive and flexible with scheduling and is an overall pleasure to work with.

You or your child will have a great experience in working with Matt.

Matthew is very knowledgeable of the game. He is easily approachable and has the ability to connect with students of all skill levels as well as multiple generations. My teenage son was comfortable with him immediately and he is not always receptive to learning if the setting feels awkward to him. As for my own experience I received valuable insight into my own games after reviewing score sheets from tournament games and isolating those ever present blunders that seem to lurking on every chess board just waiting to be discovered. Anyway I give a hearty two thumbs up to my millennial friend.

About John
Here goes...
I am a chess teacher, tutor, singer, and Shakespearean actor in NYC! I guess you could say I wear a lot of hats.

I graduated with honors in 2009 from New York University with a BFA in Drama. I've been professionally teaching since 2012, but I have always loved sharing the game of chess with anyone who wants to learn (just ask my friends).

Students can expect to face new challenges and to improve each and every week. I am happy to work with students of all different ages and experience levels. As a teacher in the New York Public School system, I know how to make chess simple and friendly enough for Kindergartners, Senior Citizens, and everyone in between! And as an active tournament player (current rating 2000), I can offer great insight into the needs of any skill level. I am thrilled to work with ambitious tournament playe
rs and those who just want to learn how to beat their friends :).

Chess is a wonderful, challenging game, but I truly believe that anyone can learn to play if they are motivated. Come work with me and discover your new obsession!

Hey there! I am a very creative, kind, and vibrant teacher! I love to teach anything I am passionate about, and have experience teaching in a foreign country as well! I have tutored in a variety of subjects, and always have students tell me how much fun they have in their lessons, and sometimes they even end up gaining a new appreciation for the subject I am teaching them! I am a firm believer in teaching with love and patience, and love to get to know my students and form a good relationship with them (especially if it is more than a one time lesson). My prices are flexible, and skill set is pretty wide! So excited to get to work with you!!

She was a great teacher! Could do all the moves with ease and was patient with those who couldn’t. She went slow enough for us to keep up and get a good result. She kept it fun but yet relaxing and enjoyable.

About Olivia
I began studying astrology in 2010 after moving to a remote area for a change of scenery and received my certification from The School of Evolutionary Astrology in 2013.

On a personal level, I started looking into astrology because I felt my sign didn’t hit every angle of my being. When I read about other signs growing up, I always felt a part of me identified with each of them. I began my studies with the intention of discovering for myself if astrology was “for real” and it lead me to a treasure trove of self-discovery.

A common misconception about astrology is that it will tell you your future and it’s set in stone. In medieval times, when astronomers and astrologers were one in the same, astrology was only practiced with royalty to discern the potential of an heir. Those times were fragile for humanity day to day, and had a ten
dency to view cause and effect on a fatalistic scale.
Centuries later, the understanding of Astrology and its concepts have evolved. Particularly in Evolutionary Astrology, each soul has free will, there is no sealed fate. What it does show us is the potential of each soul. The planets provide the energy to produce the opportunities for the potential, the soul gets to choose to take it and if so, how it takes it.

It is my belief that astrology provides an empowering method of self-discovery. It is a central focus in my teaching to create an encouraging and safe atmosphere that allows students to look at dynamics in their lives and not only understand the root of it, but provide practical tools that help heal and lead to solutions. With this, I maintain a comfortable pace when working with more sensitive topics and areas of experience to prevent overwhelm.

Although astrology is a metaphysical and occult subject, my approach in teaching does not stray from “the real world”, so to speak. My students aren’t left in the fog deciphering whimsical metaphors that they can’t apply to their everyday life. They gain through each lesson a more comprehensive understanding to what they can utilize as a universal language. My rule of thumb is that if you can label opposing themes, hot vs. cold or wet vs. dry, then you can l learn astrology. If you find yourself connecting symbols throughout your day, you can learn astrology.
