I focus on note reading and music theory, in addition to technical studies. I encourage chamber music and will often pair up students to play duets and trios.

About Mari

Welcome to my music studio! This will be a fun, incredible way to start or continue your music instruction. I have been a private violin and piano instructor since 1991. I took a break in 2005 while my kids were little. Now that they have grown up a bit, I am so excited to come back to this!

Mari was an awesome instructor, and very kind.

I absolutely loved learning from Mari for my piano lessons! As an adult learner, I felt like my brain doesn't work as fast as it used to, so learning a new instrument was difficult, but Mari completely caters each lesson to my learning speed and maximized my abilities. She takes into accounts the areas and types of music I wanted to learn and helped me to achieve being able to play that type of music. I also loved and appreciated that she works around my busy work schedule and accommodating lessons when plans change throughout the week. I would highly recommend Mari as a music teacher to anyone interested in learning a new instrument at all ages!

Students can start with me as a beginner or as an advanced student looking to learn new practice skills, new technique, skills, and bow strokes. Students work on scales, exercises for tone and coordination, vibrato, solos, sight reading, rhythm, audition music, and orchestral music. They get 2-6 opportunities to perform per year. I can teach a variety of music styles such as jazz, classical, romantic period music, 20th Century music, contemporary music, bluegrass, Celtic, Irish Fiddle, Scottish Fiddle, movie music, and popular music. I recommend many youth orchestras in the area that I encourage my students to join. Some of my students go to Italy in the summer with their orchestra. I can help you work on audition music for All Southern Youth Orchestra and All State Youth Orchestras and other Youth Orchestras. I go at the student's pace and also start out many beginners that have reached Suzuki Book 10 level.

I am interested in teaching people in the ways they learn best, using the best methods available. I keep up with brain and learning research and attempt to incorporate into my teaching new understandings of learning and how the brain processes music. Because each student is unique, with her own learning style, motivation, goals, and desires, each lesson is uniquely tailored to that student, while still including standard elements necessary for establishing an excellent technique, and an ever-increasing knowledge of music theory, history, literature, performance, and practicing skills.

I teach violin using traditional, Suzuki, Rolland, and other methods. I use traditional methods for piano lessons and use Faber, Bastien, and many other methods. My violin group classes are a unique blend of Suzuki and my own methodologies. I will consider any instructional books you have but can’t promise they will be used.

About Patricia

Music gives me great joy! From my first lessons as a child to orchestral performances at the Musikverein in Vienna, and whether I'm playing in my own home, at Disneyland, or for 6,000 at an Easter celebration in Lady Lakes, Florida, music experiences have been THE peak experiences of my life. In the past, Ms Brimberry taught both my daughers. When I decided to learn piano, I contacted her. My online classes with her has been an excellent educational experience. My preconceived ideas about learning piano were quickly dispelled as she constructed lessons to both my weaknesses and strengths. She corrected rhythmic errors by analyzing my learning style and then helped me to be precise in my technique and reading. She spent a great deal of time showing how to interpret what a composer intended. Ms. Brimberry was always prepared for my lessons, often bringing the world of music through biographies and history that made each lesson dynamic within the context of the composers era. Finally, she taught me how to practice; a skill that has saved me a great deal of time.

Lauren is an amazing violin instructor to our 11 year old son. She is always on time, has a great way with kids, and really brought out his confidence. I over heard him in the lesson saying “ohhh, that’s how you do it.” Lauren is a highly accomplished musician and outstanding teacher. We highly recommend her to anyone.

When I first started studying with Lauren in 2017, I was a freshman in high school and stuck in the fifth stand of my orchestra. Six months later, I moved up to being the concert master. Lauren is amazing. She brings out the best in my playing. She has a great ear for music, she is an amazing violinist, and the best teacher I have ever had. With Lauren I was able to progress from 3rd position to 7th position in a short time. She is very kind and patient, and never gets frustrated with me (unlike all my other teachers). She is the reason I have been able to excel at violin. Best. Teacher. Ever.

"Elizabeth is a phenomenal instructor! Both kind and patient, she is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to help me understand the nuances of technique or the background of a particular piece of music. I'm nowhere near a natural player, but her approach to structuring my lessons and practice activities fits my needs as a learner, especially considering that I am an adult student juggling a myriad of other responsibilities. Elizabeth is adept at tailoring her lessons and long-term approach to my growth as a player to my skills and challenges, so that I not only immensely enjoy the experience, but also feel the growth I am making each and every week. She's the best I've ever had!!"

"My daughter has been playing the violin for over six years and has had three teachers before Nikita. Nikita is by far the best instructor she has had. The other teachers taught my daughter to play the violin. Nikita is teaching her to perform. He is interested in every aspect of her playing, from playing the correct notes, to correct finger positioning and most especially relaxing and enjoying what she is playing.
My daughter has only taken four lessons from Nikita, but she already sounds better, is more relaxed and can see a difference in herself. She is playing with more confidence than she's ever had.
Nikita is incredibly patient and is excellent with explaining what he wants and expects and is very encouraging. I only wish we had found him sooner!"
