I have worked with students of many skill levels ranging from absolute beginners to some of the best high school musicians in the country. Although I specialize in jazz, I have just as much experience teaching classical trombonists. Our lessons will be fun, stress-free, and productive!

*BRAND NEW DISCOUNTED PRICES FOR SUMMER!*

With almost a decade of teaching experience, I provide a personalized approach to learning this wonderful instrument. Have a question? Please contact me! I am more than happy to answer any questions.

About PAUL
NEW SUMMER AVAILABILITY

Hi! My name is Paul. I graduated in 2016 from Arizona State University with my Master of Music in Performance. I just completed the second year of my Doctorate of Musical Arts program at Arizona State University.

I have almost a decade of teaching experience that ranges from private, one-on-one lessons to larger masterclasses. My private students have auditioned into numerous all-region and all-state ensembles. Most recently, I have provided various workshops and masterclasses for local, Phoenix-area schools.

My performance experience is quite varied. I was a tenured member of the Washington-Idaho Symphony on bass trombone for five years. I left to pursue my Masters degree from ASU. Other orchestral experience includes several Summer Pops concerts with the Great Falls Symphony, some featured artists such
as Kansas and Charlie Daniels. I have spent several years playing in jazz bands, Jazz I from the University of Idaho and Concert Jazz Band from ASU. In the spring of 2016, I performed with ASU's Concert Jazz Band at Highland Jazz Festival where we featured Wayne Bergeron and Andy Martin. Recent performances include Salt River Brass' " Made in America" program featuring trumpet soloist Rex Richardson, Phoenix Theatre's run of "Bullets Over Broadway," and performing with and conducting the Arizona State University Trombone Ensemble at the 2017 International Trombone Festival. In December 2017, I made my solo debut performing with Salt River Brass. I was recently accepted as a participant in the upcoming 2018 Pokorny Seminar where I will work with numerous orchestral low brass musicians including seminar namesake Gene Pokorny of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

I could tell Paul definitely knew all the tiny details about mastering the trombone since the first lesson. He recognized what I needed to improve upon in order to reach my goals in a timely manner, armed me with the tools to do so, and I have no doubt that I will achieve those goals as the lessons progress.

I am very flexible as a teacher and I want you to have the teaching style that you need to learn! Shoot me a message and lets start improving!

"We don't need anyone else who plays trombone, we need more people who play music."
-Shachar Israel - Assistant Principal Trombone - Cleveland Orchestra

About Nolan

Hi! I have a Bachelors in Music Education and have experience teaching many beginning students! I have 3 children and decided to give up regular teaching to be with them. I marched Drum and Bugle Corp and was taught a lot about Brass instruments during that time. I played a straight Baritone and Mellophone in different years. I believe that tone production is the most important area of study. It doesn’t matter what you can play if it doesn’t sound good. I can’t wait to help more students love to “play” on their instruments!

About Kim
Hello! I started my love of music at a young age with my family playing and singing at family functions. That turned into a wanting to learn how to play the flute and I went up through high school with that instrument. After high school I branched out more into vocal performance. After that I joined a traveling performance group. No not the circus! I joined Drum and Bugle Corp. They taught be how to play the Baritone and I marched a straight Baritone. I then learned the Mellophone and marched that after. Since I had experience with Drum Corp Marching I taught over 10 different marching programs over many different years. I graduated from College with my Bachelors in Music Education and was a music director until I had my children and decided to give up regular teaching. After all of the years I spent honing my craft I decided t
o continue giving lessons. I have the most experience with Flute, but can teach many other instruments: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone/euphonium, piano.
I have worked with many different age groups and levels of ability. I am happy to help you learn to have fun and "play" your instrument!
