Barry Harris, the great Jazz pianist, and educator says, “I have such a ball in my classes, and I learn so much from my students. They probably don’t realize that I come to school here, too. I’m just the oldest member of the class. I wish everyone could experience the blessing of learning new things all the time.”

The above statement describes how I feel when I am teaching. I have been playing and performing for over 20 years in many capacities, and still, music continues to teach me new things every time. Not only do I want to share that experience with you, but I also want to guide you into having that experience for yourself.

About Ian

I started on the violin when I was about 8 years old. I began with classical music, studying in the Suzuki method. I loved my time in the Suzuki method; I wasn’t always the best student; however, in hindsight, I am incredibly grateful for the experience with my teacher, the method, and the strong

If you want to get started with guitar, I'm the one you've been looking for. I'll get you started with basic theory, then I'll gradually move on to more advanced topics. I have a good background in this subject. I've actually taught this subject to a student who already had seven years experience; he didn't know how to put chords together in the right way. Guitar can be fun!

About Larry

First off, I want to mention something that potential Philadelphian students should be aware of. I can only go to certain sections of the city, and I can only give you lessons on weekday afternoons between 12-2pm. Sorry, no evening classes. I'll need time to travel between New Jersey and Pennsylvani

I've been teaching guitar for 5 years helping students develop a love for the instrument and learn more about music along the way. There are many styles I'm comfortable teaching from folk (fingerpicking or flatpicking), rock, blues and funk and I would love working on developing a unique style of your own. Within the first few lessons you'll have a solid base of strumming, picking and chord changes and even a few simple songs under your belt. Moving on from there I will craft lessons to move you toward a "goal song," making sure to cater your progress to your needs while keeping a focus on good technique. I enjoy working with students of all ages and experiences and I can't wait to meet you!

About Ryan

Ryan is a musician from Logan Square who plays a plethora of different instruments. He specializes in guitar, banjo, mandolin and ukulele, but also dabbles in accordion, piano, drums, harmonica and several others. Learning to play instruments is one of the true pleasures in his life and he hopes he

My name is Justin and I have been playing guitar for over 20 years. I am always learning new things about not only guitar playing, but music in general. Over the years I have been a regular guitarist at church gigs, played random shows, learned cover songs for band settings, jammed with friends for creative ideas and exploration, and have read, studied, and pushed myself to be a better musician and guitar player. I have taken lessons from local guitar players myself, and I am currently enrolled in Jazz guitar courses in school. I am also pretty strong in my understanding of music theory.

What I have to offer you is a better understanding of music, and better control of your instrument through a more fluent technique. If you are interested, I will do all I can to meet you where you are musically, and help you to get to where you want to be. And at the same time, I would like to help you better understand how the mechanics of music operate so that you can eventually map out your own ...

About Justin

Listening to Randy Rhoads got me interested in playing the guitar. The first solo of his that really grabbed me was the one he performed in "Over the Mountain." I thought at the time that no one could possibly play any better than that. But over the years I have been exposed to so many incredible pl

About Carlos

Carlos definitely earned a 5 star rating! Bought lessons for a friend as a gift after I watched a couple of his YouTube videos. Before and after bookong, he was communicative and flexible on scheduling. My friend just took her first lesson and could not contain her excitement! Said she learned more in 45 minutes than she had in for plus years. She plans to continue learning from him. Thanks Carlos!

Coming from piano, the guitar has always seemed daunting to me. Prior to my lessons with Carlos, I had tried to teach myself songs/chords without much luck. Fortunately for me, Carlos turned out to be an extremely patient, friendly and competent teacher - I immediately knew I’d be progressing quickly with him! His qualifications speak for themselves, but I can’t recommend Carlos enough.

I always looked forward to her lessons because she taught me her lesson and then she showed me how to play a song of my choice. She was very helpful and great and answering all my questions. "Prior to meeting William, I took guitar lessons from another guitar teacher and my parents were noticing that after a few months of lessons, I was not improving from when I started. This is when I met William. From the get go, William requested that I bring a notebook, folders and my own pick which was vastly different from my last teacher who did not go by the book and never asked me to bring my own equipment.
Every lesson I had with William was structured, planned and never did I have a lesson where William was not prepared. In fact, the lessons in which we could not do much were my fault, not Williams due to me not practicing enough or forgetting my equipment. The lessons William teach are incredibly engaging as he does not go strictly by the book and is willing to cater the curriculum towards what a student is interested in. Although I am no longer taking classes with William due to schooling, it is because of Williams great teaching and remarkable persona that to this day I can still recall the lessons I learned.
Curriculum aside, William is a fantastic person who not only is funny and engaging, but has both the skill and love for teaching music. On a final note, one of the best aspects of taking lessons with Williams is that he genuinely cares about his students. There were many times were we reserved some time at the end of a lesson to talk about life or struggles that were hindering me in both music and in life. As a former student and friend of William, I cannot recommend a better music teacher than him, although I will say that if you like to slack and are not truly invested in music, than Williams might not be for you."

"Take Lessons From This Guy!

I was fortunate to meet Dennis and partake in six months of intensive weekly sessions which were no-nonsense. My instrument of choice is the acoustic and electric guitar.

Dennis adds a shade of color to the audible realm of musical expression that invites all practitioners to give ear to Dennis' command of the guitar. Ask him what he's been working on lately and he will show you something; it's more than enough to inspire you to keep learning and discover your own musical voice.

Dennis was humble in sharing his credentials and is a continuous student of learning himself. He clearly shows no bias and imparts his knowledge to anyone willing to learn.

Due to relocation, we could no longer meet up in person for lessons. But now that Dennis is geared up to provide teaching services online, I can still effectively take lessons regardless of location."
