When it comes to violin I use both book and audio. I want to help my students learn to not only read the music but to also hear and feel it. I have been teaching this way for the last few years and found that my students have a deeper understanding of the music by learning the see with their ears. Each student is tasked with coming up with goals that they want to reach, goals their parents would like for them to reach and from there a personalized path for learning is created and followed.
I picked up music when I was very young and have never looked back. I started with the piano and then moved on to the violin, of which I competed regularly in up until high school. In high school I switched the viola and found it to me even more amazing. During high school I competed again in music

One thing I had always feared having to play some day was the opening solo to Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. A former teacher had been unable to help me with it. So, when a band I was playing with scheduled the piece and told me to get ready to play the solo, I was traumatized and contacted Mr. Rappaport for help. He worked with me and not only got me playing the opening glissando, but helped me to have a better understanding of the other jazzy spots in the piece. So now I can say I’ve performed that piece about 20 times, and the fear is gone! Thanks, Mr. Rappaport!
Regardless of your level of playing, I think you will find Mr. Rappaport to be an outstanding teacher!"
First Guitar Instructor ever & deservedly gets 5 Stars!!!"
- I also take lessons from him- I've got a music background but had no previous experience with the guitar before and Mr Mandel was able to adapt his teaching style to accommodate that nicely.
-I highly recommend him!"
Over the past month I chose Tanisha as my instructor and I am very fortunate to have such a wonderful teacher who cares about my improvement. She knows exactly how far to push a student. The first day I went to class I was a bit nervous since it was a whole new experience but Tanisha made me feel VERY comfortable, she's very nice and honest.
Sheâs also very supportive and knows how to make you improve your weaknesses. She provided me with the lyrics and even chose a great song that would benefit me as a beginner. I really appreciate her teaching me and giving me her honest opinion. She really cares about her students and I would highly recommend her to anymore!! I really look up to Tanisha, sheâs a very talented musician. I always look forward rehersal !"
He kept her engaged the whole time and she really enjoyed what she was learning. She can't wait for her next lesson with him!"
