Lesson Details
Each lesson begins with a warmup consisting of scales, rhythmic exercises or short excerpts from repertoire we are working on. Students will learn notation, rhythm, music theory and musicianship, applying this knowledge to repertoire we are working on during lessons. I recognize that each student has different goals and I will focus on achieving these goals during your lessons. I like to encourage creativity by allowing students the opportunity to compose their own short melodies or put a different interpretation on something already learned. Each lesson will end with a summary of what was done that day and any questions will be answered.

Pasquale is a very patient and dedicated teacher. My son did a great job on his solo performance at school because of Pasquale's teaching and guidance. I just received an email from my son's band teacher telling me that his playing is improving and he is doing a much better job. Thanks Mr. Gallo!

Mr. Gallo is an excellent instructor. He worked with my son to get to know where he was as a student and then created instruction based on that. He also was able to pinpoint what areas my son needed to work on to become a better musician. We are very happy with his methods and plan to continue with Mr. Gallo as my son continues to develop and learn his instrument.

I have a wealth of experience as a trumpeter and music teacher, and hold three degrees in music: DMA from Univ. of Georgia, MM from UT-Austin, and BM from N. Dakota State Univ. I am trained mostly in and play primarily "classical" trumpet, but have experience performing and teaching jazz and pop/commercial styles. Working with kids and adults on music is enjoyable and fulfilling, and I strive to help students as much as possible.

About Chris
My name is Chris, and I have been playing trumpet for over twenty years. I grew up in the TX public schools and was a two time TMEA All-State Musician. I hold three degrees in music from accredited universities: DMA at UGA, MM at UT-Austin, BM at NDSU.
I enjoy teaching and helping others, and have a patient, kind approach to working with people. Music is a wonderful gift that we can all share in, and I am happy to pass on what I have gained from my musical experiences.

Hi! I have a Bachelors in Music Education and have experience teaching many beginning students! I have 3 children and decided to give up regular teaching to be with them. I believe that tone production is the most important area of study. It doesn’t matter what you can play if it doesn’t sound good. I can’t wait to help more students love to “play” on their instruments!

About Kim
Hello! I started my love of music at a young age with my family playing and singing at family functions. That turned into a wanting to learn how to play the flute and I went up through high school with that instrument. After high school I branched out more into vocal performance. After that I joined a traveling performance group. No not the circus! I joined Drum and Bugle Corp. They taught be how to play the Baritone and I marched a straight Baritone. I then learned the Mellophone and marched that after. Since I had experience with Drum Corp Marching I taught over 10 different marching programs over many different years. I graduated from College with my Bachelors in Music Education and was a music director until I had my children and decided to give up regular teaching. After all of the years I spent honing my craft I decided t
o continue giving lessons. I have the most experience with Flute, but can teach many other instruments: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone/euphonium, piano.
I have worked with many different age groups and levels of ability. I am happy to help you learn to have fun and "play" your instrument!

Summer is a perfect time for your or your student to begin learning a new instrument! I introduce students to the basics of trumpet playing, establishing good habits and proper playing technique that'll sustain them for a lifetime of music making.

In a fun and constructive environment I push my students to always strive for progress, designing weekly goal-logs to help them read music and improve on their instrument.

About Robert
Hello music makers! Do you want to know the big secret about French Horn? It's actually not the terrifying beast of a brass instrument that everyone makes it out to be. When you apply the proper playing technique and a confident mind set from Day 1, the Horn can be a fun and exciting instrument, let me prove it to you.

I have taught countless hours of private lessons and am passionate about helping others improve their music skills whether you're a beginner just learning to noodle, or a seasoned veteran looking to improve their technique. I graduated from Chapman University with a B.A. in Music in 2016 and have had the opportunity to play along side and learn from some of LA's finest professional musicians. Let me pass on to you what they've taught me.

Problem's with range, sight-reading, tone, or you just don't know how to get better at trumpet? I have my master's in trumpet performance from UTA and am starting to build a healthy studio at the middle/high school level and I'm looking to branch out, all ages welcome though. I have 3 years experience and am classically focused. Lessons are catered to the needs/goals of the student. My biggest strength is pedagogy. If you have a serious issue in your playing or don't know how to improve, you've come to the right man.

About Matthew
I am a classically trained trumpet player that has build his studio of students at the middle/high school level in Arlington and Mansfield ISD, and I am the brass marching tech at Lamar high school. I received my bachelor's in music education from The University of North Texas and my master's in trumpet performance from The University of Texas at Arlington. I currently play in the Crossroads Christian Church band, have played in concerts with the Arlington Community Band, and am looking to play professionally in orchestras around the metroplex.

The biggest plus I give my students is fixing the technical issues in their playing so that it is possible for them to pursue the playing goals of their choice. Many players who are passionate about music simply cannot pursue their dream because they are hindered by severe problems in range
, tone, sight-reading, endurance, finger technique, musicality, etc. I myself was not the most naturally gifted player out there and I had to really consider how the instrument worked in order to progress. Today, those issues are not problem to me now. There are many fine trumpet players out there who are great musicians but ineffective teachers of fundamentals as they simply never experienced the kinds of problems in their playing that many students unfortunately have. As a student, I too had many teachers like this. They were wonderful people, but not very helpful.

To sum it up, I can show you how to fix the problems in your playing so that you can make the music you want to make.

I consider myself a very well-rounded trumpeter. I studied classically from 2006-2014 before moving out of town for college, where I studied Jazz and lead trumpet under the tutelage of internationally acclaimed trumpeter, Jumaane Smith (2014-2018). As a result of my balanced upbringing on the horn, my skill set includes those necessary to be a successful, versatile player; which in today's world, is a must-have.

Special skills include:
- Extreme Upper Register (Double High C)
- Big Band/Commercial Lead
- Section/Principal Playing (any setting; quintet-to-orchestra; pop/rock section to jazz orchestra)
- some improv

I'm excited to work with you all!

Best,
Sam

About Sam
A native of West Hartford, CT, Sam Merrill is a 2014 graduate of William H. Hall High School. During his time at Hall, he was a part of the school’s esteemed jazz program, where he played lead trumpet in John Mastroianni’s Concert Jazz Band. Hall’s show, “Pops ‘n Jazz” allowed Sam to work with musicians like trumpeters Tony Kadleck, Michael Mossman, Scott Wendholt, and Jeff Holmes, saxophonist Joel Frahm, pianist Joyce DiCamillo, and many others. Throughout middle and high school, Sam studied privately with Nancy Brown, a renowned trumpeter in the tristate area who helped Sam build a strong foundation on the instrument.

Upon graduating high school, Sam moved to Danbury, CT, where he pursued and obtained a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies at Western Connecticut State University. At WCSU, he studies privately with Dave Scott, and Jumaan
e Smith (lead trumpet player for Michael Bublé and Harry Connick, Jr.). He also held an eight-semester tenure of the lead trumpet chair in the school’s esteemed Jazz Orchestra under the direction of GRAMMY nominated jazz saxophonist Jimmy Greene, and guitarist Jamie Begian; both unbelievable talents and inspirations. Thanks to WCSU’s annual Jazz Festival, Sam has been fortunate enough to share the stage with the likes of pianist Kenny Barron, tenor saxophonist Joe Lovano, and most recently, vibraphonist Stefon Harris.

Over the years, Sam was also fortunate enough to build a relationship with Los Angeles studio legend Wayne Bergeron, who has helped further develop his abilities on the trumpet.
A May 2018 graduate of WCSU, Sam just touched down in Nashville, TN, hoping to continue a career as a trumpeter, teacher, composer, and arranger.

Visit me online at SWMerrillMusic.com! I look forward to working with you.

About Cyrus
I am a professional trumpet player of many styles and my experience in music has taken me across the world. I currently play in multiple small jazz groups, and big bands, and run two of my own groups that play styles such as Jazz, Pop, Funk, R&B, and Soul. Due to my musical knowledge, courage, and versatility, I have been invited to play overseas and at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, and the many venues occupied by Jazz at Lincoln Center.

I teach students of all ages and skill levels.
I wish for you to learn musical versatility and the ability to catch on to music quickly, the things that many don’t teach. Through my years of playing I have gained knowledge and advice from the biggest names in the music industry about many topics covering the actual playing of the instrument to playing in a band and obtaining gigs.

No
t only will we learn about music, but also powerful life lessons and great qualities we should develop not just as musicians, but human beings. I look forward to helping you reach your goals and become a better person/musician!
