No one can infuse you with the skills necessary to become proficient with any instrument. They can teach you basics and even advanced techniques, but to make them yours, you must implement what you have been taught and practice, practice, practice.
Loran's strength with and gift to me is that he is my coach. He is amazingly good at being my coach. Loran reassures me that what I have do so far is good, encourages me to be better, and motivates me to continue striving.
As a sixty-something who was basically starting over with respect to the piano, Loran is my guru.

Not only Mya is the best Italian teacher I've had (she's very detailed oriented and helps me tremendously with my pronunciation) but she's also an experienced and skilled music teacher. After only a few classes, I was able to play decent music with my violin!"

I've been playing guitar for 10 years now and before I started taking lessons from him, I never knew how much I didn't know. Every lesson is fun and engaging and definitely well worth the rate. "I play in a rock band that wanted to add some Sinatra type jazz songs to our repertoire. I was tasked to play bass with which I had very little experience. I decided to take some lessons with Gary to learn a little jazz theory and technique. He was a wonderful teacher. He focused in on exactly what I needed quickly and pointed me toward resources that I could use to improve. Despite my limited abilities, Gary was always patient and displayed good humor. When I needed him to write a bass line for me quickly so that I could take it on vacation, he made the time to make sure that I had what I needed. I enjoyed our lessons and recommend him highly. Gary is a teacher who truly cares about his students."

No more writing out the chords for praise and worship music. So knowledgeable. You need to stop think about it and call him up and schedule your first lesson. Shon rocks!!"
