From the get go, Juan has been a hit with Nick. Juan is always positive, but he quickly hones in on areas where Nick is struggling and gives Nick new ways to overcome the problem.
Juan works very hard. He goes way above and beyond expectations. First of all, most of his lessons go beyond the 45 minutes for which we pay. But Juan's work with Nick in person is only a fraction of the work he does to help Nick learn. After every lesson, Juan drafts a thorough e-mail describing what happened in the lesson, and what Nick should be working on during the next week. He attaches files to the e-mail to help Nick with his practice. Then, on top of all that, Juan also takes the time to prepare short teaching videos specific to songs on which Nick is working. Nick can then play along with the videos on his own time.
I wholeheartedly recommend that you hire Juan to learn guitar."

I have experience teaching young students and adults in Spain and several years now in Texas. I have a wonderful baby grand piano at home that we c
I also love teaching music theory. Music theory is the knowledge that let us learn and understand how harmony, melody and rhythm intertwine in a musical piece. Knowing music theory can even help you expand your artistic skills and be able to write songs or improvise.
Come and let me help you learn how to play the piano, you will enjoy it! Fill your life with music!
I speak Spanish as a native because I was raised for many years in Spain. Therefore, I can teach grammar, writing and perfect pronunciation.
If you are asking yourself if it is the same language than Central and Southern American Spanish, yes. It is the same language. The only difference that we have is in vocabulary or some expressions. An example would be how British vocabulary and American vocabulary differ. In any case, it is the same exact language.
If you want to learn piano, music or Spanish, I can help you achieve your goals, it is worth it!!
Riley employs the latest in teaching curriculum and uses software like Garage Band, Transcribe, Guitar Pro, Logic , Sibelius and Pro Tools to ensure students learn quickly and enjoy the process!
Due to his gigging schedule, regular student lessons are occasionally rescheduled for in the field "research" in the form of live shows. Unlike college professors, this "research" is used to rigorously test information in the "line of fire." This means students learn the latest techniques that work under real world conditions.

Riley helped me pick a guitar, gave me a book, and play along recordings. He had me playing classic chords in about two lessons. I can now read guitar music and have come up with some of my own tunes. I wasnt a very good student at first, but I showed up for my lessons. Just that took me a long way until I actually wanted to practice and really started to enjoy my guitar.
I was missing something in my life - all I did was work, eat, and sleep. I hadn't considered music as an outlet. My wife just signed me up one night and then told me I was going to learn something new. I was kind of mad at her at first (and hence my resistance to practicing), but I'm really glad she did that for me - and I thank her every time I play guitar.
Riley is great - he has a ton of patience with me. Considering that he went to one of the best guitar schools in the country (MIT/GIT), and can pretty much play wherever he wants, this really shows how much he loves to teach. Riley can play the obscure tune, pop, metal, classical guitar (he's got me on Beethoven now), and he even played yngvei with serious proficiency. The man has mastered the guitar and wants to teach. He is a working musician, and has had gigs every week that I've known him. He understands the music business, so he can give sound advice if you want a music career. So far as lessons go, it's just a matter of practicing what he tells you. There is no guitar, amp, or pick that can make you sound better. But Riley can.
I wish I (or my wife) had signed me up a long time ago. Best money I spend each month. Anyway, I better get back to practicing.

Drum students can expect to improve week to week in their technique. Every musician has a sound; I teach students to apply foundational techniques in order to unlock that individual sound. I can help any student to play with freedom, confidence, and expression.
As a professional musician I frequently travel mostly in Texas to perform and record. I've also performed throughout the US and overseas with Casey James (American Idol) , Phillip Lassiter ( Prince, Kirk Franklin), Josh Weathers and many others. My current band is the Ray Johnston Band. I love to mentor students who want to become effective, dynamic leaders.

Why? Because I love the interaction with people, the camaraderie of making music together, the reward of everyone reaching for their potential and accomplishing things they might not achieve on their own!
My career in music has taken a many forms, such as Tour/Music Director for an international touring group called Celebrant Singers, Worship Arts Associate Pastor at Peoples Church in Fresno, California, and Pastor of Performing Arts at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas. I've also taught private lessons in public school (Northwest ISD and Carrollton-Farmer's Branch ISD) and in after-school string enrichment programs.
Regular comments from people I have worked with are:
“You inspire me to be a better perfo
“Patience is your weapon. The peace that surrounds you, then flows to us, allows us to stay positive and focused!”
“Your sweet spirit and gentle encouragement have created such a safe atmosphere.”
“I grew so much personally and professionally.”
“Some of my favorite practice times were in the rehearsal room!”
We will work hard in our lessons; learning an instrument takes commitment. At the same time, you'll grow and refine your skills as a musician. The effort you put in will be reflected in how you develop.
Music assignments (including region, all-state, and solo competition pieces) are designed to develop technique, teach basic music theory, and introduce musical literature characteristic of the cello.

I am a treasure trove of information about instruments. Consultation is included in the price and this includes everything from selecting a new instruments to basic set up and repair.

My voice students will learn to relax into their singing and to strengthen their voice week to week. Each student receives a personalized plan of daily exercises based on their needs and weekly performance. I also offer audition coaching for those in the musical theatre community. For kids and beginners we start with basic breath control and diction. For more advanced students we work on improvisation
My instrumental students will begin by learning ear training and basic structure from there I make it about you and what you want to learn. I am a big believer in genre bending instruments. I for instance play jazz and blues mandolin. If you're wondering why you have never heard of this its because you can count the number of culturally relevant jazz and blues mandolinists on one hand. There are also reasonably few people who teach this as it is something so rarely done. If you have latched on to a particular genre of music I'd love to help you explore it.
Acting students are encouraged to dabble in all parts of theatre and film as many roles require you to be a jack of many trades. Character development and emoting convincingly is only part of the game.

What do you love about playing the piano? Here, New Paltz, NY teacher Cheryl E. shares her top 10 list... do you agree? I have to stop myself sometimes, and call my parents to thank them for the piano lessons they made me endure when I was a kid.
