I teach acoustic and electronic drums for all levels

About Ryan
Hey There! Summer is here! Let's play some music!!

My name is Ryan B. I play and teach guitar, bass and drums, and piano and would love to teach you or help you improve your abilities! I have been playing all four instruments for 25 years, and I have a personal, laid-back style that helps connect with each student.

I have been with TakeLessons for over five years now, and am truly blessed to have worked with so many great students.I will teach you what YOU want to play, regardless of style or genre you like in music. I design my lessons around YOU, and what YOU want to learn!

Let's talk guitar! Guitar is the ultimate instrument to learn! It is versatile and portable and you can learn quickly, regardless of your favorite style. I teach acoustic and electric guitar. I cover basics, such as chords, scales and solo work. I
cover a wide range of artists such as: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. Regardless of your favorite band or style, I can help you accomplish your goals!

Piano is one of the most important instruments to learn, especially for children. The benefits are endless. For piano, I teach beginner through intermediate students. Piano is a popular choice because it has a very friendly layout with the keyboard. I use a proven 6 level method to take you from Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to Ode to Joy! I cover how to read sheet music and cover a wide variety of musical styles!

Do you like the deep, powerful sound of the bass guitar? Well, I cover that too! The bass is a FUN instrument that is very friendly to learn. If you ever want to join a band, the bass is essential instrument, because it goes well with the drums. I cover a wide range of styles from blues, funk, rock and jazz! Go for it!

As a kid did you set up pots and pans or pillows and hit them with spoons like I did? Well, then the drums may be for you! You can learn drums with a pair of sticks! Drums are a total BLAST to play, and if you are not one who wishes to read sheet music,then the drums are perfect for you! I cover a TON of different styles, and if you have a favorite drummer, you can learn to play like him or her relatively quickly!

Need academic help? Well I can help with that too! I tutor in most subjects, including: Math, Science, Reading, Writing Skills and ACT and SAT prep

Here is a breakdown of specific areas of subjects I teach and tutor with:

Math: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry
Science: Biology, Chemistry and Physics

Very good with young children

My son is 4 years old and has only had two sessions with Eli however, he does a very good job of communicating with him on his level and keeping his focus. He also has given him practice exercises which seem to do the trick.

Learn the basics of rhythm and beginner drumming.

How to play various drum beats, fills, stick technique.

Students enjoy learning their favorite songs.

About Paul
***My goal as a teacher***

I try to teach what the students are interested in and make it fun and interesting so that they learn the lessons and their favorite songs. Every student is different and needs to be taught in a way that makes learning easy and fun for them.

I have a passion for all people and all ages and am blessed to be able to teach from the very young, (ages 2-5 Toddlermusik lessons) to teens and adults.....all the way to senior citizens. I've had many older students all the way up to a 93 year old gentleman who is taking singing lessons and asked me to put music to his lyrics. We have recorded over 50 songs together.

***Background***

I started playing trumpet in 5th grade and knew that music was for me. I also liked playing with drums and piano also because they seemed exciting. I've competed in WSMA (Wi
sconsin School Music Assoc.) for many years which taught me a lot about performing for judges, being relaxed, and the importance of preparation.

I started playing the guitar and bass guitar when I was 13 and have never stopped practicing and performing since. I also have done a lot of writing, recording, producing, and have a Pro Tools Studio for students to use.

***College and Teaching***

I began teaching music lessons in college and enjoyed it very much. I received my B.A. in Music from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. There I was very much involved with guitar, piano, voice, trumpet, and being in bands and writing music. After receiving my B.A. I also took 3 years of Education classes at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. I write, produce, and perform my music along with performing with bands around the Midwest.

***Life in Music***

After receiving my B.A. in Music, I continued teaching and opened up my home studio. After a year and a half I had enough students that I was able to quit my factory job and teach music full time. I've been teaching, performing, and writing music ever since.

***Performing and more***

I have been on stage performing music since I was 11. In school band, marching band, competing in music competitions, and in bands touring the Midwest.

I have recorded many CDs with bands and on my own. My most ambitious project was a CD of my original music called, "Girls". I've performed my music and promoted it by being interviewed on Milwaukee radio stations along with internet music sites such as CD Baby. It is very exciting talking on live radio about my music and my passion. It is also even more exciting, and scary, playing my music live on the radio, lol.

***Instruments Taught***

I have been teaching for over 2 decades. Students take lessons for:
* guitar (electric / acoustic)
* piano
* violin
* voice
* drums
* trumpet
* saxophone
* harmonica
* music theory / ear training
* studio recording / songwriting

I also give kindermusik lessons to 2-5 year old all the way up to senior citizens 70-93. I play parties, concerts, and Nursing Home performances.

I am experienced as an online (Skype) instructor, and I have taught online lessons worldwide. I've witnessed great results from my online students (both national and international).

I hope I can help you with all of your musical goals and get you going in a positive musical direction.

I meet Paul about three months ago, While not a complete beginner, I had tried to teach myself thru out the years and picked up a lot of bad habits. Paul helped me to see and fix my habits. Paul is a very qualified teacher, of many instruments, drums, keyboards, guitar, and others. I'm 59 years old, Paul doesn't mind my age, doesn't treat me like I'm too old to learn new stuff. And is more than willing to see me thru complete guitar instruction. Thanks Paul...

I take pride in my students and their passion for music! To me, learning how to play music is almost identical to speaking, and I use that duality in a unique approach to help my students grow. Above all it's about having fun! I need to not only be your drum instructor, but also your music teacher, your English teacher, your math teacher, and your personal trainer! All of these subjects have an influence in your musicianship and will help you have a greater understanding of music in general.

About Andy
Hello everyone! I am a drum teacher and performer from the Chicagoland/Northwest Indiana area and am new to takelessons.com. I am a member of the Vic Firth Education Team, the Percussive Arts Society and the Jazz Education Network, and take my students very seriously. I have learned from many great musicians and top teachers including Tom Hipskind, Frank Donaldson, Ruben Alvarez, Chris Coleman, Peter Erskine, and several others. Above all, I want my students to have fun and I feel that I bring a unique approach to help any student grow into the musician they would like to be. Currently, I am teaching about 20 students a week, and gig out 3-5 times a week, but I am looking to expand my business. Any student under age 6 needs to have a free consultation/meeting to see how well they can hold interest through the full lesson.

My teaching style is very flexible & hands on. My goal is to make beautiful music and I do this by taking technical exercises and giving them musical meaning. This means I focus on the ideas of time, vocabulary & dynamic playings, but within this still teaching essential technical exercises in order to create a well-rounded musician.

About Ross
I have a Bachelors of Music degree for Professional Music (drum set performance & music production) from Berklee College of Music . Whilst at Berklee I studied under some of the top modern drummers including Dave Dicenso (Josh Groban, Hiromi), James Murphy (Blue Man Group) & Terri Lyne Carrington (Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Esperanza Spalding).

I am a producer & drummer with a diverse musical background ranging from traditional jazz (voted Young Scottish Jazz Musican of the Year 2012) to modern pop music. My performance experience spans internationally performing on stages in USA, Finland, UK, France & Estonia. As well as performing I'm also skilled in using Ableton & Pro Tools to both produce music and use these DAW's as live performance tool's.

I teach drums and bass guitar to budding contemporary musicians ways succeed just about any performance situation. Whether on stage with a metal band, or playing smooth jams at a local coffee shop it’s the rhythm sections job to facilitate what we musicians ,oh so fondly, call “the groove”. If you want boring lessons that teach how to play everything in your text book I’m not your guy. But if you want to Find and feel the groove in any situation. Then look no farther.

Let me tell you a little bit about my expierience.
My name is Tré Kimbrough. I was 6 years old when my grandfather put a bass in my tiny hands. I never looked back. I was in band and orchestra starting from the 6th grade and all the way up through highschool. I’m currently studying music education with a double minor in commercial music and music performance.
So it’s safe to say I know my stuff, but that’s just my classical education.
I teach contemporary music.

I’ll help you with your own song writing
I’ll show you how to work around difficult pieces
I cater to YOUR needs.
If you’re a “learn by doing” kind of person. We can jam and bounce ideas off of one another and improve that way. If you want a more rigorous structured kind of lesson I have books galore. Don’t read music? No problem! I’ll teach you if you want to learn but I can just go tablature for all my bass players out there
I can help you with any genre from jazz to BLack metal to indie rock and anything in between

I have been professionally teaching for over 10 years. I love to make my Drum lessons as fun as can be by teaching my students their favorite songs and help them put together drum covers! For the older and more advanced students I help get them into bands, and book gigs so they can enjoy the experience of being a professional live drummer. I love to help guide my students to their musical goals and aspirations. I teach all levels of NYSSMA both for drum set and snare drum, reading music, rudiments, all styles of music, and much much more.

About Jonathan
I have been professionally playing drums for almost 15 years and teaching professionally for 10. I have toured the country opening up for major label bands and artists. I have played drums for numerous bands and artists including Grammy winning and nominated artists for Audiomack's Trap Symphony. I have also played drums for a nationally aired commercial for Champagne.

I currently teach a number of students from ages 7-25, and I teach all levels from beginner to advanced. For the older students I love to help get them into bands and open jams so they can experience playing live in front of a crowd and with other musicians.

I love teaching and playing all styles of music from Jazz, Metal, Rock, Latin, Rap, Reggae, etc. When I'm not teaching I am traveling with various bands around the country and playing on major music festivals.

You
can expect to improve your drumming skills each lesson you take and also learn your favorite songs from your favorite bands.

Ive been playing drums since I was 12 years old. And over the years that I have been playing, I have studied and explored all different types of music, styles, grove, and culture. When studying with me, I show my students the root and culture of everything we play, as well as techniques, groove, and chops!

About Daniel
I've been working in the field of music for a number of years. After graduating from the Berklee College of Music, I have worked in Boston and around the United States and Canada as a performer in the percussive arts.

I focus my teaching on what the student wants to learn. Of course we will go over technique, grove, chops and much more, but the most important thing is that I figure out how all that fits into my students sound.

Music has been an enormous part of my life, and I wish to share both my knowledge and experiences with others. My mission is to give my students the same enjoyment that I have received from playing music.
