After graduating from the Juilliard School of Music I played with the New Jersey Symphony for 3 years and then moved to Switzerland where I was Principal cellist with the Beil Orchestra. I have spent 30 years teaching cello with good success. I enjoying helping students getting better. I teach the rudiments of the bow arm, bow grip and how to change the direction of the bow.

About Don
I graduated from Juilliard (BA) and played 3 years with the New Jersey Symphony after which I moved to Europe where I was Principal cellist with a Swiss Orchestra ( Biel ). I teach the Leonard Rose bow arm technique. I believe he had the best bow arm in the business.

I work with the bow arm first with beginners and advanced players to get a better bow grip, bow stroke and bow change. The rudiments are important!

My lessons can cover everything from basic to advanced cello playing techniques. Also musical expressions, theory and more passion toward this unique and wonderful instrument!

I hold a DMA degree in cello performance from Michigan State University. I have been teaching private cello lessons for more than 10 years. My students are aged from 5 to 65 years old.

About Chi-Hui
I am a professional cellist. I started teaching both private piano and cello lessons since 15 years ago, and I still have great passion toward teaching. When I teach music, I want students to learn to express their emotions through music. Essentially, I wish music education would help people to find that having music around is one of the most wonderful thing in the world.

I hold a DMA degree in cello performance from Michigan State University. I started playing piano at the age of 5. My minor is piano performance until finishing my undergraduate studies in Taiwan. I started teaching private music lessons since then. When I finished my undergraduate studies, I became a certificated teacher in music. Since I moved to the US to study, I have also been teaching private piano lessons in Boston. My students are aged from 3 to 65 years old.

Thank you for your time and attention to my profile. I hope to have a chance to share my love in music with you.

Gary had his first lesson and got over the jitters of being "the first time" as well as the app which made us nervous "Yes dad especially!" being I was used to old fashion face to face lessons back in the dinasour era.

Thanks Jonathan for the great lesson and introduction to this program.

I look forward to more future lessons.

Jonathan is an excellent instructor. My lessons were scheduled in the evenings and he accommodated my busy work schedule. He presented the lessons clearly; he adapted my lesson to my learning style and never forced me into just 1 style of learning. He also gave me a lesson manual and discussed alternative ways of practicing at home. Joanathan is extremely knowledgeable, I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn violin.

I believe it is extremely important to combine a solid technical foundation with a thoughtful approach to musicality. I constantly strive to help students understand the different roles of the cello in musical settings and the incredible versatility of the instrument. I am passionate about teaching and performing alike and am an active cellist throughout the New York City area, recently having completed my masters degree at Manhattan School of Music.

About Jacob
I recently completed my masters in cello performance at Manhattan School of Music. I teach privately throughout the tri-state area and I am also a teacher with the Harmony Program where I teach in larger classroom settings throughout the boroughs. This past February I was a guest artist and teacher at the VerArte String Academy in Arequipa, Peru. I have attended numerous music festivals such as Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, CA, the Banff Centre in Canada and most recently I was a fellow at the Alba Music Festival in Alba, Italy. I am also passionate about orchestral and chamber music.

As a teacher, I hope to give students a strong technical foundation on the cello while also helping them to understand and appreciate the musical versatility of the instrument. I believe it is extremely important to combine technical and mu
sical skills from the earliest musical studies. I am enthusiastic about teaching students of all ages and varying musical goals.

In my lessons, I plan to develop a connection to my students, allow for room to grow and improve as cellists, and to elicit proper playing/performing techniques. Lessons are individualized for every student, as students aren't all equal.

About Carly
Hello, my name is Carly. I'm currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in music education at the University of Louisville. Throughout the past couple of semesters I've been learning many different methods for teaching, privately and publicly. I have a student of my own, and would love to expand my studio and take in more cellists. I've been playing cello about 10 years and love to share my passion with others. The most effective way of learning about anything is by actually doing it!
