Basic Italian vocabulary, grammar and diction.

About Bridget
I have been a professional voice, music theory and piano teacher for the last ten years, and have loved every minute of it. I am originally from Canada, and went to the University of Windsor to study vocal performance. I was given an opportunity to the study principals of classical singing and musical theater. From there, I began to work as a featured classical soloist and choral singer throughout Canada. I came to New York to continue my studies, and earned a Master of Music degree in Classical Voice from the Manhattan School of Music.

I believe that singing lessons should be a lot of fun. With good technique, my students and I can team up to accomplish anything from singing classical songs and even some opera arias to popular songs and musical theater. It is my goal to help you discover your own personal voice, and build confidence
in your individual gifts. My students have gone on to study voice in college and university, perform in musical theater, sing in rock bands, children and adult choirs and even win a competition or two. I love hearing my students perform, and feel that an opportunity to sing in front of others builds confidence and ability. I take pride in arranging recitals for my students who would like this opportunity.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons with always begin with warm ups and technique. We'll also focus on an important principal topic, such as breath and support, vowel placement or expression. We'll use some exercises that I have already, or perhaps a new one just for your needs (once I get to know your voice) to help you achieve our goals. We'll then work on 1-2 songs. You'll probably have picked one, and I may have picked one. The concept that we worked on in our technique session will be applied directly to the songs you are working on. You can learn so many different things in each song, we may practice your songs, using a different goal in several different lessons.
All of my students get a chance to perform in occasional "vocal class" settings, where you can sing your favorite songs for one another, in a fun, laid back environment. All students are welcome to participate in an annual recital for their family and friends too! Piano lessons are designed to suit your needs. We can work on the basics for classical playing, read chords, jazz improv and more.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have my own music studio set up in my apartment. On teaching days, my living room can be a comfortable waiting room for parents/guardians. You are all most welcome to relax, have a cup of tea or coffee and listen to our lessons. I do ask that you do not sit inside the studio (at least not after the first lesson) as this can be distracting for your child. My studio is equipped with a music stand, upright piano, work sheets for theory, pencils and crayons. I also have a full Broadway and classical music library that students can borrow from, CD/DVD's that can be borrowed, and a New Grove Reference set.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I bring some music, until we assess the student's needs, then they may buy some books, while I provide the rest. I bring theory worksheets, stickers, pencils etc. If a student would like to sing/play a particular song (Broadway/pop etc) I may have it in my music library. If I do not, the student will need to purchase the music they would like to sing. The student would need a keyboard/piano in their home should I travel. I have a piano in my home.

*** Specialties ***
Classical singing, Musical Theater, Jazz, music for young children, pop singing, audition preparation, beginning music for adults.

Giulia is fantastic! She listened to my needs and started getting me going in the right direction right away. She's clearly passionate about music and is equally enthusiastic about teaching. I've learned a lot in a short period of time, and I feel more confident and "at home " singing!

Giulia, quite simply, is the best. Very patient, especially with someone trying to speak Italian with a Southern accent. Her lessons proceed in a very linear and logical way, aiding retention. She also delivers excellent fundamental rules of thumb that help a lot when encountering new material. And all of this is delivered in a superior style that combines equal parts gentle prompting and sound teaching techniques with a soupçon of Florentine humor and zest. My highest rating!

I was born and raise in Italy, moved to the US few years ago.
I have been an Italian teacher for many years.
I can teach you from the basic to an advanced level

About Simona
I was born and raised in Italy. When I moved to the States in 2005, I barely spoke English.
That's why I decided to start teaching Italian. I know how difficult it is to go to a foreign country and not be able to buy something as simple as bread.

I will send you links, we will read together, watch videos, talk to each other. No need to buy any book with me, I will send you everything.

Are you ready to learn? Because I am happy to teach you.

I am a native Italian speaker who has lived in Italy until I moved to the US for my undergraduate degree. I have been living in the US for the past 10 years and returning to visit my family and friends in Italy several times a year.
I believe learning Italian with me will be fun and effective because aside from my first language which is Italian, I speak several different languages and I know what learning a foreign language entails.

About Natasa
I am a native Italian speaker that moved to Southern California a few years ago for my University degree and decided to stay and build a life here. I love living in the US but I also miss my country and my family and I enjoy connecting with people that want to learn or improve their knowledge of the Italian language.
I also have a 2 year old daughter to whom I speak only Italian and it has been a fun process so watch her learn and now speak to me in my own language.
I customize my teaching sessions based on the student's goals and current language proficiency to maximize their time and efforts and get them speaking Italian step by step.

I provide fun/customized lessons based on the student's goals. I believe that desire to learn a language is the only way that makes a student want to learn, and therefore I try to minimize English speaking during the lessons. I also give homework exercises for the students to do between lessons. Unless requested, my lessons are intermixed with grammar, conversation, customs/traditions. My goal is to make certain that each student finds Italian as exciting as I do, and wishes to continue the learning process, and become comfortable with me and the Italian language.

About Anna (Carlini)
I was born in Italy and came to the U.S. with my family. I was educated in the U.S. and returned to Italy to live and work for the U.S. Navy. There I met and married my husband. We returned to the U.S. and had two beautiful children. I have been teaching Italian in the Lake Tahoe area for nine years now, and have every intention of continuing to do so on a different platform then a standard classroom. I find that students learn faster and better when they are in their own setting and comfortable.

My goal is to make certain each student from beginner to advanced walks away knowing Italian more then when he/she started, and are happy with me and with the results.
I want to make sure that each student feels comfortable in conversing in Italian, and that he/she truly believes that learning Italian is possible.
I provide lessons fr
om beginner to advanced to all that wish to learn or improve their Italian. Each lesson is based on each student's knowledge base and the goal that they wish to achieve. Knowledge in any given subject is like gold.

Cancelling or rescheduling your class: If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson it is possible, but I would require 24 hrs. notice prior to your scheduled lesson time.

Anna is a fantastic instructor! Lessons included grammatical break downs, vocabulary, current and historical Italian events, and more. The classes were informative, adaptive to the students needs, and fun. It was always a pleasantly interactive setting where I was speaking with a good friend, and it just happened to be in Italian.

Anna is an enthusiastic and hardworking teacher who always sought to personalize her instruction, based not only on my level but on special topics of interest that I wanted to explore. Our sessions together were always fun and productive. I believe that listening to and speaking with a native born teacher is essential!

Anna is excellent whether you are a beginner or advanced Italian speaker! She knows just how to pace the class, and always modified it so that it was perfectly fit for me. She was so patient!! I never felt uncomfortable or rushed to learn, and she always seemed to have so many different ways to teach me the language; whether it was sentence structure, verb conjugation, new work pronunciation - it didn't matter, she was so creative with so many different ways to learn it all.
