Lessons will cover scales, theory, chords, jazz and blues progression as well as Crafting your tone for your amplifier, finger picking and performance techniques.
I started playing the guitar when I was in elementary and took classical lessons until I was a teenager.I really enjoy the art of practice and the journey of patience. The process of learning has helped me carve out and cultivate my style of music. It's opened up a lot of doors for me in my life. I've had the honor to play with a lot of great performers and have been lucky enough to tour the U.S. and Canada with festivals and showcases such as Vans Warped Tour, South By Southwest and the Halifax Pop Explosion.I've been the opening act for Carolyn Wonderland, Maria Taylor, Tsunami Bomb, Tilly and the Wall, Basia Bulat, Rise Against, Strike Anywhere. My teaching style varies with each student, but the one constant is my ability to make each and every client I encounter completely fall in LOVE with music. It's my super power.

I have been playing the guitar for over 11 years of my life, and have been involved in music for as long as I could remember. My history includes learning from famous Houstonian guitarist Nick Rawson, playing live with multiple bands, managing my own musical project, and teaching dozens of students for the past few years. I look forward to being your guide on this incredible journey.
My mission is to help inspire and help bring out the artist that is dormant in each person. The philosophical approach that we champion is to not only provide the tools necessary to create complete musicians, but to connect and ignite the passion within.

Experienced guitar instructor with over 7 years teaching. Degree in Guitar Performance with an emphasis in jazz and classical guitar and Music Theory from the prestigious Samford School of Music.
Music is a universal language. It is the one thing in this world that connects us all. My desire is to shepherd that passion that I hold so dearly into the next generation of musicians. Whether you want to learn the soaring riffs of guitar greats like Jimmy Page or Brian May, the melodic grooves of Eric Clapton, John Mayer, or Joe Bonamassa, or the classical stylings of Bach, Mozart, or Vivaldi, I promise you'll be surprising yourself with how quickly you'll pick up guitar.
Maybe you're looking for more formal training. In addition to learning guitar, all my students will be diving deep into music theory, sight reading, and the history behind it all. I believe it is essential to the success of a musician to know the whys and whats behind everything they're playing.
I have performed in small cafes to large concert halls playing a variety of music from classical and jazz to today's top radio hits. After working with some of the biggest names in christian music like Vertical Worship, Kristian Stanfill, Lincoln Brewster, and All Sons & Daughters, I am now on
I have had around one hundred students go through my curriculum since I began teaching in 2010. I have a passion for teaching and seeing people succeed at the instrument that I love so much. I can teach someone how to play today's top hits just as easily as I can teach them how to play Beethoven.
In addition to just playing music, I love writing and producing music as well. I am a professionally trained audio engineer and Ableton Live trainer. Getting in the studio is my escape from the world.
My ultimate goal is to see the passion I have for music carried on in as many people as possible. Contact me today!

Is it really necessary to learn guitar scales? If you'd rather just focus on chords and songs, you're not alone. But here, Austin, TX teacher Samuel B. shares why practicing your scales will ultimately make you a better guitar player down the line... I'm a 25-year veteran of playing the guitar.
