About Eugene
Greetings and Salutations! I want to let you know, whether you're a music student or a fellow lover of music, that you have great untapped potential for music! More so than most people would tell you, because music is a powerful, life giving, uplifting gift that comes to all those that love and enjoy it.

If you have a desire to pursue music in any shape or fashion. I congratulate you! You open to yourself a brand new world filled with fun, excitement and great opportunities.

My Philosophy:

There is great music potential waiting to be untapped in yourself. I value greatly the time I spend with every student and wish them to become the very best at the instrument they wish to pursue.

There is indescribable expression to be found in music. A wide range of emotions can be conveyed along with untold stories just waiting to
be opened up. I will help foster a student's ability to see music for what it really is and help them strive for whatever musician they wish to become, whether it be for personal fulfillment, just for fun and recreation, or even in the pursuit of becoming an effective classical musician.

My Education:

My mother took me took a classical concert when I was six and I sat in the front of the stringed section. After the concert I made my decision that would shape the rest of my life, I wanted to become like those musicians.

I eventually graduated from a local music school in the following years in piano and violin and immediately went to enter the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. I was among the 10 out of 40 applicants that were eventually chosen, along with being the youngest of them as well.

After four years of study, I graduated and received my Bachelor's Degree in Music. I then went on to study for another year and received my Master's Degree in Piano.

My Other Experience:

I was Church Music Director in Kiev for Living Water Church from 2002 - 2010. I directed the adult choir, directed and led church worship services, accompanied various musicians and managed all aspects of church music responsibilities, including budgeting, rehearsals, planning and library management.

I also have been a private music teacher for several years teaching adults and young students. I planned lessons with them and established their repertoire.

I am also fluent in the Russian language and have extensive computer literacy.

Notable Recitals

(Winter and Spring recitals throughout 2005 to 2010)

I pay close attention to the fundamentals of music especially throughout the early lessons. These include reading notes, measuring tempo and rhythm, sight reading, hand positioning, posture, and technique.

I believe in positive reinforcement for all my students. Building a kind and friendly atmosphere is paramount for encouraging students, especially children, to continue pursuing music. Everyone I believe has hidden music potential, and I believe the key to unlocking this is through inspiration. Music is a grand adventure of excitement and discovery for everyone.

I am very kind and honest with my students and am never too strict with them, but I do require and greatly encourage regularly that they make habitual practice a vital part of their musical education. As the old saying goes, "Practice makes Perfect." There is great truth to that saying especially when learning a musical instrument.

Excellent Teacher

I am an older student and I started to learn to play the piano more than a year ago under a different teacher. I started with Eugene about 4 months ago. I was struggling with the piano previously. But after just 2 lessons with Eugene, I found myself playing confidently. Eugene explains so clearly and everything makes sense to me now. I enjoy practicing everyday now. He is excellent teacher, patient, and very professional. He is always on time.

I am pretty easy going. I want you to feel comfortable and at ease, but we do need to focus and can have fun doing it. :)
I utilize various methods for each instrument, which is determined by the students learning style and ability; needs, so this can change as time goes on (not sticking to one particular publishers materials). I have done (and continue to do) extensive research into materials available for each instrument I teach, and supplement with my own, to utilize the best out there for "YOU" for the best possible progress. While ensuring an extremely well-rounded musical education, so you can progress at the best possible rate. Since each student's potential is different, each will progress differently. Twenty five years of experience working with students of all levels and ages has shaped me into the teacher I am today. Although I do tailor my sessions to suit the individual student, here are some expectations you can have of me.
Beginning students up to age 11 typically begin with the Bastien method. This curriculum is great at introducing interval recognition. I supplement this with fun pieces from Alfred, where students can strengthen sight reading skills. Flashcards are also used as reinforcement.
Older kids and adults will begin with Alfred's adult course and progress quickly into independent playing.

For all ages - After the student has reached a level of more independent playing, the student/parent will help select the direction in which we progress. Classical music, composition, and popular music are just a few of the possibilities!

All lesson books and materials are provided by me and are included in the cost of lessons. Students are welcome to provide additional ...

Music should be appreciated and enjoyed. Lessons should be fun without sacrificing quality. This is the approach I offer to students. I focus on teaching independence through music theory and sight reading. My schedule only allows for weekly lessons. Requests for every other week cannot be accepted.

I have been teaching this subject for over 16 years. The main curriculum for beginners is Alfred's Basic Piano Library. There are three beginner levels (beginner, late, adult) and one will be selected after the first meeting. For non-beginning students, the course of study will be developed based on past experience, current abilities, and goals. It is not necessary to know how to read music at the first lesson for beginners. However, learning to read is a part of subsequent lessons. Music is not learned "by ear." A certain amount of theory will be a part of every lesson just as technique and repertoire. Students should come to the first lesson prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study.

About Troy
Composer Troy W. graduated from the New England Conservatory, earning his Bachelors, Masters (cum laude) and Graduate Diploma while studying with mentor Malcolm Peyton. After spending a year studying with Lukas Foss in Boston, Mr. W. moved to Houston in 2001 where he continued graduate studies at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music.

During his time as a teacher with the Michael P. Hammond Preparatory Program at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, Troy taught classes in music fundamentals and music theory for pre-college students. He has also served on the faculty of the Summer Institute for Piano teaching courses in Form & Analysis for pre-college students.

Troy also has maintained a private studio, tutoring and teaching private lessons in composition, ear training, voice, piano, literature, and history for over ten
years. Students who have studied with him come from a wide range of backgrounds with different goals. Those who have continued with musical studies in college have consistently placed out of at least the first two semesters of music theory and achieved advanced placement in their chosen fields of study. Those who chose a different path continue to benefit from the education and training they received from taking music lessons.

*** Lesson Details ***
There is no "standard formula" to lessons. Each student has their own unique background, needs, and goals. Lessons tend to be somewhat casual but are structured in such a way as to meet the unique requirements of the student.

To accomplish your goals, there are a few requirements and basic expectations that the student and parent must meet.
The first is practice. Students are expected to practice daily for at least the length of their lesson time. This, above all else, is essential to progress. It is also expected that a parent will attend lessons for students who are too young to drive themselves here. It's important for a parent to guide the student's practice time (particularly for younger students) to ensure that the most is gained from it. This is why I ask that a parent observe lessons.
Each student or parent should bring to each lesson a notebook, pencils (with erasers). The notebook will be used to record notes about each lesson, homework, practice advice, etc. Pencils (not pens...nobody's perfect!) are used by composers to record their creations and performers to mark their music. Both of these essential practices are subject to changing thought and must be open to change. So no ink, please!

Performers: It is not necessary to know how to read music at the first lesson for beginners. However, learning to read is required for subsequent lessons and will be a large focus for all non-readers. Lessons are not learned "by ear." A certain amount of theory will be a part of every lesson just as technique and repertoire. Concerning repertoire, it will be selected based on the student's learning needs but also with their input. The main emphasis on performance lessons, however, will be technique and reading. Students should come to the first lesson prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study.
Note: Voice students must be at least 16 years of age.

Composers: Just as with performers, it is not necessary to know how to read music at the first lesson. However, learning to read is required for subsequent lessons. Many young composers have great ideas but can only hear them in their heads or play them on an instrument. Lessons will allow you to obtain the skills to write them down with greater speed, accuracy, and clarity. More advance students will also include exploring a wider range of harmonic languages, advanced notation, instrumentation, orchestration, and aural skills. Students should come to the first lesson with examples of their work, either written, notated, or recorded in a digital format. They should be prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
• To reschedule a lesson, more than one day notice is required.

• Make up lessons must be scheduled before the next regular lesson.

• A make up lesson cannot be scheduled in place of a regular lesson.

• If, for any reason, two 30-minute lessons are scheduled one right after the other, they will be charged as two 30-minute lessons, not one 60 minute lesson which is a different rate.

• If, for any reason, two 45-minute lessons are scheduled one right after the other, they will be charged as two 45-minute lessons, not one 90 minute lesson which is a different rate.

• the studio space is also inhabited by two lovely cats. Do consider this when signing up for lessons.

Yamaha DGX-650 weighted 88 keys full sized keyboard

I take a lot of pride in teaching each one of my students. I will work several hours preparing, practicing and finding helpful ways to instruct each child. Every student is an individual, with certain skills and abilities and my job is to find out how to unlock these abilities, so these students will be able to perform at their highest level. I research, practice and prepare for each lesson. Every student I teach is extremely important to me and I want the very best for them in their musical talent. I have students from early childhood to Musically advanced students preparing for college auditions. I love the excitement of my students preparing for the NFMC Gold Cup Competition, National Guild Auditions, TMTA festivals and competitions, as well as the TMTA Theory exams. I make sure my students are prepared and ready, so they have a wonderful experience and enjoy the pleasure of knowing they did well.

I have been playing piano for the past eight years and have been teaching students for only a year so far. Students have said they enjoy working with me because I meet the necessities of the student. I have a 88 Key digital piano with studio headphones so they get the best sound from the piano which contains weighted keys and pedals so the piano feels like an acoustic grand. I specialize in whatever needs the student requires: technical, reading music, chords, ear training etc.

About Rene
I'm 18 years old, currently a senior at Cypress Woods High-School who has been a participant in music since the age of 10. Music to me is something very important, so important that I love it when I'm able to share the experience with others. I believe that's what we need, some sort of medium to remind us who we are as people, when we die our sound will still remain on Earth. I have astronomical dreams of becoming a producer and if I can somehow gain financial help by also helping others with music that would be a fair trade-off. I'm someone who will make learning an instrument fun, no one should have to leave the experience of learning something because of the instructor. You're child can explain his/her goals and I will do by best to help in achieving those goals while still keeping in mind the technical aspect of practicing.

I very much like but not take it seriously with an American way of learning skills by just having fun lessons without committed practice. I trust in every child’s sense of understanding and smart motivation.
Russian school of teaching piano is traditionally the best due to centuries of polishing teaching skills by greatest musicians and teachers. We strive to master both technique and artistry. However, in reality, to achieve this might be a challenge. A fun makes it better. I use a combined American and Russian approach. To help students keep progressing, balancing between hard work and fun attitude, between technical skills and artistically emotional performance is my philosophy and passion.

About Alty
My name is Ms. Alty, I am a professional pianist, Piano teacher, and educator in a great state of Texas, have been a teacher for 15 years. I teach all of the levels of Piano, from early beginners to advanced. My educational background is Russian Classical School of Piano, which is recognized as one of the Best Schools in the World. I have a Diploma of Piano Teacher and Concertmeister.
I love to see how my students grow in their practice and getting more and more excitement playing piano and enjoying the Classical Music. I look at every student as an intellectual person first and foremost. I believe that everyone has different personalities and characteristics. The more I can learn about the piano student the more I can tailor the method and lessons to fit every student perfectly.

I've had the opportunity to work with people as young as three and as old as 62. But as far as piano goes I've had mostly students in the Pre-K and early Elementary age range. My piano lessons are fun, engaging and comprehensive. I don't use one method, but have studied many methods, developed my own and customize lessons to best fit the student. My goal isn't just to impart information about music or technique, my goal is to help my students develop within themselves a living musicality that will be with them throughout their whole lives, no matter what they choose to do with their practice.

About Andrew
I've been practicing and studying music for nearly 12 years. Conceptual performance, free improvisation and Sonic sculpture for over 5. For me, music isn't just about playing an instrument. A musical practice is an opportunity for incredible self growth. Excercise for our minds and awareness.

I've worked with students ranging from age 3 to age 62 in the year or so I've been tutoring. I've taught piano mostly ,but am more technically proficient with guitar(electic/acoustic/classical).

I'm a songwriter and recording/performing artist, my style is very ecclectic and inspired by anything from classical, jazz, avant garde, to pop and folk music. I'm confident and versatile. Im comfortable playing or even performing with most instruments. It's taken alot of practice, reasearch, experimentation, and collaboration but over time musc has give
n my experience life and enriched my life and those around me.

I believe in the cultivation of a living musicality.

My approach emphasises the importance of process, exploration and discovery, as well as the study and analysis of traditional concepts. I propose, active listening to be the simplest form of composition. And as musicians an active ear is central, not only in practice, but generally, for creative evolution and innovation.

I've found the most effective methods effectively balance theory and practice.

I believe the biggest inhibitor to growth, musical or otherwise, is a lack of confidence. A lack that comes from too much pressure to produce idealized results-- fear of mistakes...

I embrace the developmental process,
I work with every student to make each lesson plan efficient, meaningful and inspiring.
