I can say without a doubt that Troy was the most influential teacher I've ever had, and it's likely that I would have never continued down the path of music had I not had these lessons. Troy was patient, insightful, and always knew how to focus me and push me to develop as an artist. Teachers with Troy's ability and knowledge are extremely rare."
And they're not alone!

I did all my formal studies, worked on the technique and graduated with honors at the University of Arts. I have worked as a solo performer, accompanist, and arranger. I also have composed -- mostly songwriting and pieces for solo guitar. Since my days in mid-level instruction, I have had students of all ages and saw great results in all of them who I taught as a freelancer and as a teacher in some institutions.
Share my passion with me and get as much knowledge as you can get.
I have taught jazz bands, theory, private lessons, and music appreciation courses in addition to teaching band classes.

Composing and arranging is a passion I have in addition to teaching. In 2013 and 2016, TJEA selected a jazz etude I had written to be used in the Texas All-Region/State auditions throughout the state of Texas. My composing and arranging can be heard on the several albums and am also a composer/arranger for orchestra, jazz bands, and small groups.
I am a member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA), Texas Jazz Educators Association (TJEA), and Jazz Education Network (JEN).
I have been teaching flute for 13 years. I have taught all levels and all ages. My experience range from children with no experience at all to adults who were preparing for orchestral auditions.
I love teaching flute. My lessons are organised in different sections depending on your needs: from the basics of breathing, posture and support to more advanced skills like vibrato, articulation, proper technique or musicality and phrasing.
Everything I teach I make it fun in a relaxed and in a very engaging atmosphere. I adapt my lessons to your needs.
I can teach classical music but I can teach also popular music. I do not teach jazz or improvisation. I can teach you in Spanish or English.
