As an award winning composer, my favorite thing to teach is songwriting. These lessons will make sure you have a foundation of theory strong enough to allow you to understand the structure of music so you are not restricted by the technical aspects, with a heavy focus on the interpretation and emotions in music, letting the student focus on creating their own work in their own style, and be happy with what they make.

About Joshua
Joshua has been a musician for over twelve years and been a teacher for five. He is an award winning composer, critical thinker, and an honest teacher. Joshua has a high standards for his students and himself. Joshua has studied Suzuki method under Dr. Paula Bird for four years and has taught over 100 students. He performed his official Suzuki training under Dr. Laurie Scott. Joshua also teaches at the Texas State String Project under the direction of Dr. Ames Asbell and Dr. Karla Hamelin. He has done so since it's inception.

Joshua is an award winning composer and has composed over 80 pieces, ranging in style from classical symphony to electronic dance. He has also arranged hundreds of works for violin and piano.

*** Lesson Details ***
I'm a relaxed person with a strict teaching style. I have two critical expectations for my stud
ents.

1: I expect my students to practice everyday, with time depending on age. (10 minutes a day for 5 year old's, 20 minutes for 10 year old's, etc.) No exceptions. Lessons are a place for me to teach you, not a place to watch you practice.

2: I expect parents to participate in every lesson. You are the teacher 6 days a week, I'm only get to teach them one.

If everyone understands my expectations, students will grow and learn quickly, and have a great time doing it!

I develop a lesson plan depending on each students strengths, weaknesses, talents, and personality. No one student is identical to the next, so none will be taught the same, but everyone will follow a similar pattern.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano lessons with full keyboard. Stands, couches, and a small library of sheet music.

*** Specialties ***
Suzuki style instruction for violin technique. For songwriting and performance I focus on the analysis of music to find a middle ground of emotional expression and theory. Once that middle ground is found we explore what music means to the student, and how they can use it as a tool of expression.

I've been playing the violin self-taught for about two years because my first experience with a violin teacher went horribly. So after two years I figured I'd try again.
I was on Reverb Lessons for 6 months, and it was a complete nightmare. The most highly rated teacher they provided didn't seem like he was teaching me anything at all. Most of our lesson were music theory, which was helpful, but I would only play the violin the last 5 mins of the two hour lessons. He kept telling me, "i didn't have it in me to be a violinist" and he told me to play piano instead. Well it turned out he didn't even play the violin!
Completely despondent, I was getting angry that I
might not progress in the violin (which I was madly in love with) but dispite my bitterness I decided to try to find a teacher again.

I've only had three lesson with Josh and I can't articulate how much better I've gotten. He's calm and collective, and gives me exactly the advice I need in order to get better. He's an attentive listener, and responds accordingly. I enjoy his lessons; they are the perfect balance of stern and nurturing. I'm excited to see how I progress as the lessons continue, and I'm thankful that I FINALLY found a good violin instructor

I've been writing songs since I picked up a guitar at 12 years old. I've studied writing styles as well as musical styles to bring both emotion and logic to the art of songwriting. My goal is to teach you how to bring write a song that is solely yours and how to create melody and lyrics with passion!

About Kimberly
Hello! My name is Kimberly and I teach:
-Guitar
-Piano
-Vocals
-Acting
-Ukulele

As a participant in All State choir in high school, the only female in the U-46 district to make District 9 state Jazz choir, and the recipient of over 20 awards for singing, I'm at a place where I can use my experiences to help you start your journey!
I've been singing and playing my instruments for all of my life. My talents have taken me across the United States and back, even singing the National Anthem on Fox for the World's Strongest Man competition.
Having a passion for music, I picked up piano and guitar at a young age and studied both for years, finding new ways of combining the two with voice and also being able to play them separately or simply use them for songwriting.
Whether you're interested in playing piano, guitar, singing, or d
oing a combination, we will find your music genre where your passion lies and take it to new levels. I can coach you on your stage performance or even help prepare you for choral/band concerts in school.
For my adult students I can help take your gift to new levels, making it easier for you to perform with confidence and do what you've always wanted to do musically.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are customized to the student's age, instrument, and level of interest. I combine early education practices with activities that go beyond just trial and error on instruments and give student's a chance to turn lessons into a fun game. With my methods students also develop a level of confidence that enables them to begin performing for friends and family. I have seen many young vocalists into elite choral groups through their schools and cities. One of my specialties is preparing students for auditions and 9/10 times they make it into the group they were auditioning for or won the solo in their group!

This is one of my favorite aspects of music- song creativity & arrangement! I can teach many styles of songwriting- rock, pop, blues, jazz, country, classical, etc. Whatever the student is interested to understand the concepts and theories to writing a good song.

About David
A fun, friendly, and professional Music Instructor at your service for Voice, Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums, & Ukulele! I have a BA degree from Florida Atlantic University in Music Performance for Classical/Flamenco/Jazz/Blues guitar and I've also performed on the Piano/Keyboards for a couple different bands too. Love to play & teach pretty much all styles of music! It is always a pure joy & truly rewarding to see my music students grow and flourish in their musical abilities. I have been enjoying doing this now for 20+ years- all ages & levels. I am also in a multi-dimensional rock project and a recording artist with my band Vision.

I believe it's important to learn the rudiments of music to build a good foundation (scales, chord vocabulary, theory, song-composition, performing techniques), but I also base the lessons on whatever th
e interests and strengths are for the student. For example, if you enjoy jazz more than classical we'll focus more on what you are particularly passionate about. I have also been a part of School of Rock Programs in which we provided performances for the students a la Jack Black. Please contact Takelessons to let the musical journey begin...

Contrary to popular belief, creativity is teachable. If you understand the inner workings of music, then you'll be better equipped to write effective songs.

About Chris
My name is Chris B. and I've been playing music for most of my life.

The best lesson that I've personally learned is that a musician is never done learning. Once you start believing that you know everything there is to know about your instrument then you've stopped growing musically. Personally, I've also learned that I enjoy sharing my knowledge of music with others and exposing students to new techniques and concepts.

I strongly believe that these traits are the most important aspects of teaching music to others. No matter how advanced my playing skills might progress, I’ll always be able to relate to any type of student because I’m still learning something new everyday!

If you have something to say, I can help you say it musically. In songwriting classes you will learn how to write a song you can be proud of. These classes are tailored to the individual artist, and can be added in to the curriculum of any singing or vocal training class.

About Reina
******NOTE: Register for summer lessons today! Improve your singing voice. Learn to write songs. Grow your range. Confidently prepare for auditions. All while learning in a comfortable environment, on your schedule, without travel time to and from your lesson!!!

Lessons available Sunday - Thursday.

Hi, I'm Reina and I'm obsessed with the voice instrument! I have over 20 years of music experience, as a vocalist and performer. I've been teaching voice lessons since 2005.

Below is a list of FAQ's - if you have further questions beyond what is listed feel free to contact me through the Ask a Question feature on my profile.

Where can I take voice lessons?
Currently lessons are available online.

What will I learn in my lessons?
You will learn how to care for, and properly play your instrument. We will start with basic exercise
s and drills, and move into more advanced techniques as you progress in your skill sets.

What if I'm a beginner?
Totally fine! I teach all levels beginning through professional. The voice is an instrument just like any other instrument and must be learned in the same manner, from the beginning!

Can I try the first class Free?
No, but you will get a FREE lesson on your birthday (must have taken lessons for 6-months) and for each friend you refer that purchases a 5-pack of lessons.

What is your teaching style?
I am more than your voice teacher. I am your coach, your friend, your, mentor and peer. You are your voice, and in order for me to properly teach, you have to trust me. We will build a rapport as you grow your instrument in confidence, strength and flexibility.

Are there added bonuses to taking singing lessons?!
Yes! Proper breathing is a guaranteed ab workout, singing can improve your speaking voice, and you'll have a better sense of self understanding by learning how to better control your instrument. Not to mention all the unplanned karaoke you can take part in!

A little more about the teacher:
I've been a singer since as long as I can remember. I never wanted anything else. I started as a beginner by imitating my favorite artists. I performed a lot as a child, and stopped performing for a while in my teen years due to stage fright and the such. During that time I started songwriting and recording, I studied music in college, graduated and started performing again as a solo artist. I joined a few bands, they all broke up. I licked my wounds and now I'm a happy, recording, performing, songwriting, teaching, voice-over, and producing vocalist.

My approach to songwriting is through a process called Kaizen. Kaizen is a philosophy of constant improvement, one step at a time.

I believe that to write their best songs one must live their best life.

My lessons are very catered to the student's needs. I can teach the theory and techniques of song structure, lyric, melody, harmony, rhythm, groove, sound selection, music production, vocal intonation, audio recording, and music production. I can also speak conceptually to help deepen concept, improve cohesiveness, or simply advise on inspiration and creativity.

I specialize in Pop, Electronic, Indie, and Hip-Hop.

About Dan
I am a songwriter of 10 years and a music producer of 5.

I value honest art of all types. Music holds the highest place in my heart for its ability to conjure emotion and to express the inexpressible.

I graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising and a minor in Entrepreneurship and am currently a student at Icon Collective.

I am a member of ASCAP and SACM songwriter societies and I would love to help you communicate your ideas and experiences through melodic ideas. Rhetoric figures, rhymes, phrasing, smart analogies and more tools will become second nature for your songwriting craft.

About Rodolfo
Vocal Coaching & Wellbeing Singing

I have been teaching singing for 10+ years. I've enhanced singing lessons into a complete program of vocal mastery/songwriting with a blend of wellbeing techniques.

I am an active music artist, music production collage graduate, "The voice" ex-participant and vocal producer with vast experience in online music marketing.

Today's music industry requires to be prepared and aware of its fundamentals. Voice mastery, digital distribution and streaming, producing, audio recording, royalties, interpretation, social media, songwriting, copyright, are all random pieces of a puzzle you must put together in order to succeed.

I've been making music for over 22 years and I've felt the pain of figuring out this puzzle by myself. I've been copyright stolen, false magic lesson invested, lousy contract scamme
d, paying to perform, falling short of budget, trading soul for fame and many other beauties of this industry in my journey to try to make a living out of expressing myself.

My goal today is to use my experience to shorten the learning curve of others. My scope is on keeping you focused on your craft and introducing you to technologic tools that will allow you to keep expressing yourself purely and make it a sustainable lifestyle or an empowering hobby by seeing progress and results.

Stay focused on your dreams
