I have over 5 years experience in math tutoring at all levels. I can help your student improve his or her math skills!

About Ryan
Hey There! Let's play some music!!

My name is Ryan B. I play and teach guitar, bass and drums, and piano and would love to teach you or help you improve your abilities! I have been playing all four instruments for 25 years, and I have a personal, laid-back style that helps connect with each student.

I have been with TakeLessons for over five years now, and am truly blessed to have worked with so many great students.I will teach you what YOU want to play, regardless of style or genre you like in music. I design my lessons around YOU, and what YOU want to learn!

Let's talk guitar! Guitar is the ultimate instrument to learn! It is versatile and portable and you can learn quickly, regardless of your favorite style. I teach acoustic and electric guitar. I cover basics, such as chords, scales and solo work. I cover a wide ran
ge of artists such as: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. Regardless of your favorite band or style, I can help you accomplish your goals!

Piano is one of the most important instruments to learn, especially for children. The benefits are endless. For piano, I teach beginner through intermediate students. Piano is a popular choice because it has a very friendly layout with the keyboard. I use a proven 6 level method to take you from Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to Ode to Joy! I cover how to read sheet music and cover a wide variety of musical styles!

Do you like the deep, powerful sound of the bass guitar? Well, I cover that too! The bass is a FUN instrument that is very friendly to learn. If you ever want to join a band, the bass is essential instrument, because it goes well with the drums. I cover a wide range of styles from blues, funk, rock and jazz! Go for it!

As a kid did you set up pots and pans or pillows and hit them with spoons like I did? Well, then the drums may be for you! You can learn drums with a pair of sticks! Drums are a total BLAST to play, and if you are not one who wishes to read sheet music, then the drums are perfect for you! I cover a TON of different styles, and if you have a favorite drummer, you can learn to play like him or her relatively quickly!

Need academic help? Well I can help with that too! I tutor in most subjects, including: Math, Science, Reading, Writing Skills and ACT and SAT prep

Ryan's style is relaxed and friendly. He walked carefully and deliberately through the material in the first lesson, but not so slow that it was boring.

Working through the basics can be the most essential and rewarding foundation for one's math education. Let me help aid that process to ensure a solid knowledge base that will carry on through school and beyond!

About Erin
I carry an enthusiasm for knowledge and "nerdy" subjects like mathematics and science! I believe in the power of positive reinforcement and aim to foster not only knowledge, but also confidence. Lessons are individualized for the student and their goal grade/test score. I am passionate about education and the development of growing minds, and it shows in my sessions.

My assistance doesn't stop just because the lesson is over. I make myself available to students (via email) for as-needed homework and study-related questions.

I have nearly 10 years experience working as an educator.
I am honored to work with students throughout the year, for long-term results, but am also happy to assist with short-term needs such as midterm/final exam preparation.

Also available for:
College admissions consulting -- Let me help your family nav
igate this complex process. I can assist with choosing programs and schools, tailoring applications to each recipient school, and generally putting together the strongest possible application packet.

Erin was very caring, articulate, thorough and responsive. She tested my daughter's knowledge by assigning her problems to do prior to their sessions. As a result, she was able to get 100% on all of her home/class work.

Meagan is very flexible and is a great teacher. She doesn't make the student feel self-conscious about answering wrong, She gently asks the student to explain how they came up with the answer and allows them to correct themselves. If the student doesn't realize their error during the explanation, she explains to the student wherein the equation they made an error. She also repeats the problem areas with the student until they have a full understanding of the process.

I sought Meagan out after my daughter came home with a failing grade in Algebra I. I am very happy with my selection, she is the perfect fit for my daughter. She is very flexible and I appreciate that she doesn't make my daughter feel like her lack of understanding of the subject matter makes her inadequate. I am going to continue hiring Meagan for the duration of the school year, my daughter really likes her and is learning far more than she is from her regular classroom environment.

I have tutored many math students, at varying levels, over the past seven years. In pursuit of my B.A. degree, I took above the required math credits. I have completed the following college math courses, all with an A: Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Statistics, and Pre-Calculus. I will help students understand math by showing the steps. Also, I will help them understand what to study, so they can solve the math equations on their own. Understanding elementary math forms the foundation for all higher math; thus, I am dedicated to firming this foundation for the student.

About Maria
I, Maria J., graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors College distinction from the University of South Florida, in 2014. I have seven years’ worth of tutoring experience. I have tutored students, at differing abilities and intensities, in Algebra, English, and Latin. I view learning as an accumulative experience. In my sessions, I would have two goals: one, to explain concepts and, two, to provide moments for the students to use this acquired knowledge. I believe that variability in information presentation is important to the overall success of learning. Therefore, I use various methods to convey the same information. My second goal follows closely: I would offer opportunities for students to use what they have learned. Giving them occasion to find the answer before I intercede, helps students realize where their strengths and shortcomings
are. Through a careful balance of teaching and homework, the student’s ability will increase.

I'm knowledgeable and patient. I believe it is important to build on the student's confidence as well as their skills, because panic hurts performance almost as bad as being unprepared.

I have a Masters and a degree in Economics from Southern Illinois University. My undergrad minor was Mathematics. I am a professional economist with a heavy background in math and statistics. I've been active in this discipline for over 30 years in a wide variety of industries. I was also in the Air Force.

I have good rapport with young children, and tutor from Kindergarten to adult. It would be helpful to know what textbook your child is using so I could work from the same text (which I would either purchase or rent online).

About Mark
I have a BS in Economics (minor Math) and an MS in Economics both from Southern lllinois University at Edwardsville. I also have taken all of the coursework for a PhD in Economics from St. Louis University. I also have 30+ years of experience in Business Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics. I've taught Intro to Business Forecasting (undergrad level), and Introduction to Competitive Intelligence (Graduate Level).

I'm a Veteran of the US Air Force, with a highest rank of Staff Sergeant.

For Chess lessons, I've been a competitive chess player since 1974, and a Life Member of the US Chess Federation since 1974 as well. My current rating is 1790, which places me in the top 5% of competitive players in Texas and the top 10% in the United States. I'm also a certified local chess coach and a certified local tournament director for th
e US Chess Federation and have originated and run chess clubs in many different locations, depending on my travels.

With me, math becomes simple. I use real world examples to demonstrate the different ways to approach a problem. I fully understand that math is not something that comes naturally to everyone. I enjoy helping a student progress to the point of fully understanding a subject. I will teach you in a way that really helps you understand rather than get by!

About Vance
I am currently a student at Colorado State University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I have been tutoring my peers and younger students for the past two years. I really enjoy helping someone learn a new concept. There is nothing more exciting than seeing one of the students I help succeed in their courses!

I like basic math. Without basic math, we cannot do the more advanced math like Algebra. Basic math is an absolute necessity to function in society. I really hope to help students learn the concepts that they need to be successful.

About Jamarius
I am a graduate of Alabama State University and have a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics. I have years of experience helping students in the ASU mathematics lab. I also have experience tutoring high school students as part of the ASPIRE Mentoring Program and I have tutored elementary and middle school students as well. Topics that I have tutored include basic math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and calculus.

While tutoring at ASU, I have modified my tutoring style to provide better service. What happens is that during the first few sessions, I get to know each person and some things about the course that they are taking such as the syllabus content, the type of grade the person wants in the course, the number of points each assignment is worth, and the date of the next major test. I then try to hold tutoring sessions in accordance w
ith this information. During a session, I go over homework, explain concepts that may be misunderstood, go over topics that I think are especially important, and sometimes give practice problems. I do a lot of visual explanations for concepts. Periodically, I would ask about the grade that was made on a recent test and modify my tutoring style if necessary. My goal is to help everyone that I tutor strengthen their mathematical skills.

Usually, I tutor by appointment and each session usually lasts for about 1 hour. In order to reschedule or cancel an appointment, I request a 24-hour notice. I am willing to meet in a public place or online.

I also make videos that cover math concepts in order to make it a little easier for students to get the information that they need to be successful. If you would like for me to make a video, please let me know!

Please contact me and we can get started.

Been tutoring elementary through college level students for 5+ years now. Very relaxed teacher that follows that core belief that anyone should and can learn whatever they desire or need. Specialized in Dual Credit related courses the last two years (Histories, Comps, Bios, etc), but have taught anywhere and anything you can think of in high school as well. If you want a more affordable tutor that is willing to work with you on that personal level that I believe we all need sometimes, then message me what you may want help in and I will let you know what I can do!

About David
Tutoring now for 5+ years. Received many credidations, scholarships, and awards for my work offering teaching aid and tutoring in my district. Took some time off from tutoring at the middle/high school level to focus more on undergraduate tutoring and Dual Credit advising for younger high schoolers unsure of how to go about the process of getting into and managing college life. Now looking to go back to my roots while still staying open to my newer skill sets as well. I have tutored and teachers aided for nearly any class you may imagine. Young enough to be cost efficient and personal with my lessons, but experienced enough to know what I am doing and to get you where you need to be. Message me if you have something you think I may be able to help with and I will let you know!
