I am a music teacher that understand the secrets of music when it comes to improvise and use any scale on different chords on the guitar or other instruments. I will teach how to apply this knowledge on sonwriting or any other objective you could have about music. When I try to explain this wonderful information to my students, I teach it all as simpple as possible so my students can understand it with no problems and start applying that wonderful information in music.

About Gerardo
I am a seasoned musician that has been performing since 2004 in the Dallas area in guitar, bass, and piano. I am classically trained and was the final student by Costa Rica's finest guitar player and teacher. From there I attended and graduated from Universidad de Costa Rica where I studied Jazz and classical guitar. I continued my education in the USA in Audio Engineering and have since recorded 3 of my own albums and have produced for many other musicians.

I have been teaching music lessons since 1998 and have had over 400 students throughout my career. My specialties are rock, blues, jazz, classical, Latin rhythms, country, and funk. I love sharing my passion with anyone who wants to learn the art of music that I have given so much of my life to mastering.

My lessons are tailed to each student individually. Whether they want to
learn from sight reading to ear training, my experience has given me enough to be able to work within any style, with all different learning types. I have a great repertoire of music and can teach even the most popular songs on the radio today. I can teach in both English and Spanish.

The sky is the limit and I look forward to starting lessons with you.

About Art
Art has been playing guitar for 15 Years and has been a professional musician his entire adult life. After graduating from the world famous Musicians Institute in Los Angeles Art taught hundreds of students from complete beginners to touring pros and has played on several national commercials/tv themes and played countless gigs in nearly every time zone from Seattle to New York to Sydney.

Currently Art is the guitar player in the half texan half australian rock outfit Dellacoma who just finished up 15 months of nearly non stop touring and just released their first album on Shock Records. Now off the road for a signifigant amount of time, Art has resumed teaching full time and is resuming enrolling students. Art has been a guitar teacher for over 6 years and has taught (and played) everything from taylor swift to metallica to james brown. He believes every student learns at their own pace and does not believe in a "one size fits all approach" for learning the guitar. He tailor makes every curriculum for the student and can help every individual achieve their goal whether its strumming around the campfire or wanting to dazzle crowds with technical wizardry.

*** Lesson Details ***
Students taking lessons from me can expect a balanced music lesson. A combination of practical skill based things such as technique, scales, theory but also learning your favorite songs from your favorite bands or artists. I bring conservatory based training mixed with real life world experience to students from my training at the Musicians Institute and the hundreds of gigs and recording sessions. I have a very laid back approach and believe that music lessons are healthiest and most fun activities a human being can engage in. I use a wide variety of curriculums based on the students skill levels and wants and needs. Whether you're an absolute beginner intermediate or advanced or you want to learn acoustic pop, funk or heavy metal i've performed it, recorded it and taught it. After a few months of lessons with me students can expect to be playing along to there favorite songs, able to improvise over chord progressions and developed some technique and sense of rhythm.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The lessons are taught in the living room with all equipment. Seating is available. Parking is on the street.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide copies of material as well as my own supplies from paper and pen to cabes tuners and amp. I expect the student to have a quiet space {assuming an in home lesson} to teach in as well as guitar, amp, and picks. I also provide the music stand and metronome.

Teaching Style
I believe first and foremost in supporting and developing what musically inspires a student’s decision to study and play music. In order to fully develop control, musicality and understanding of the music language, it is important to focus on several components including music theory (scale and harmonic structure/function and rhythm), style, ear-training, reading and performance skills.

Expectations of Students
Like any aspect of life, consistency and patience are two very important qualities to posses when working towards a goal. The duration of each practice session is proportional to the level of the student. Learning how to practice efficiently with your instrument is key for adherence and success in obtaining your goals.

Well...I've been playing since the 3rd grade and teaching since my mid twenties. I have had many students go on to do very well.

In Nashville I played acoustic guitar in the studio almost every day for 15 years....and lots of electric guitar too.

lead - rhythm - acous - elec - finger picking - distorted - clean - blues - rock - country - jazz too

About Billy
I teach my students how to understand how music is put together so they can learn even more on their own.

I read, write, and play all styles and I focus on teaching the student fundamentals that work in all styles of music ....AND I get them going on the style they are interested in - pop, rock, country, folk, etc.

I have spent my entire life in the music industry and I can show you how to use what I teach to apply to the real world. I have also been a successful songwriter and I can work with students to learn about song structure and song writing.

I am also good at preparing students for college music classes.

*** Lesson Details ***
I like to break it down into small steps and accomplish them, then move on to the next.

Each person learns differently and I am good at connecting with how you learn - then we can use a boo
k or CD or not according to your needs.

I have several books to choose from as well as CDs and other tools. BUT .....some things are learned best through 1 on 1 instruction and explanation without a book.

I like to see progress every week and I usually do.

*** Studio Equipment ***
recording studio w/ seating for parents

*** Travel Equipment ***
Student needs instrument only to start and discuss from there.
I have many tuners, metronomes, props, books, etc

*** Specialties ***
I teach using modern popular songs as vehicles but back up examples with theory and some reading and ear training.
I usually get quick results and my students can understand the music as well as play it.

Nothing can beat seeing an experienced person playing the guitar, except being able to ask that person questions and get answers. One on one private lessons are what I offer in a comfortable, relaxed environment. I can show you exactly how to make all the moves for playing correctly. This makes progress exponentially faster. We also get into theory, which is WHY you are playing the notes you play in songs. You want lead guitar? You've got it here. I teach all styles, old and new.

About Michael
My name is Mike E. I am a resident of Lake Highlands. I played by ear for eleven years before starting training on music and how to teach by Mr. Terrill Gardner. Terrill took me through music from the Rolling Stones all the way through "Modern Method for Guitar" books I, II, and III from Berklee College in Boston. He was my mentor and taught me a method that he spent thirty years perfecting. It works, guaranteed. He also taught me on bass guitar and banjo. I can help you.

Lessons are customized to meet the needs of the individual, with the primary focus on playing songs as soon as possible. I am talking about playing along with the pros, not reading notes for months and playing "Mary Had a Little Lamb." I have combined my "by ear" knowledge with Terrill's training to provide a unique approach to music, chords, music theory, ear trainin
g, and more. Even piano lessons start with learning chords. Chords are what the musicians play behind the vocals.

Give me thirty minutes of your time and I will show you why students keep coming back to me, even after stopping for a while.

*** Lesson Details ***
Note Reading provided on request only.

Beginner Guitar - We start with simple chords and eight easy one-verse songs. These teach chords, timing, hand technique, ear training, song construction, and the start of music theory.

Intermediate to Advanced Guitar - all of the above plus tablature, different styles, advanced chord theory, performance, lead guitar, and more.

Beginning Piano - We start with simple chords and go straight into the songs the students like. These teach chords, timing, hand technique, ear training, song construction, and the start of music theory. I can teach you every major chord on piano in one sentence.

Bass Guitar - We start with learning the location of notes on the neck and move immediately into major chords so you can start playing with songs. The chords are divided into their single notes, but viewed as chords because that is what the other musicians are playing during the vocals.

Banjo - I teach from the book "I Can Teach Myself Banjo" but you really need a teacher/mentor to show you all the things that seeing and being able to ask questions covers that just can't be covered in a book.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano, amplifiers, cords, computer, free WiFi, all in a spacious room with a window for parents to view the teacher and student. Parents have a large, comfortable waiting area. Restrooms and water fountain provided.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in mentoring, being a friend as well as a teacher. I have never gotten mad at a student and never will.

I have written three books on chord theory, "Chordmaster Chord Theory for Keyboard," "Chordmaster for Beginner Piano Students," and "Chordmaster Chord Theory for Guitar." You can learn more about these online.

Along with basic Guitar Theory, students can expect to learn a unique and customized lesson plan that caters to there beginning skill level and helps them obtain there overall goals.

I am an active musician and can provide a vast amount of knowledge on everything from making a living playing music to starting your own band.

About Clay
I started playing guitar when I was 14 years old, and I continued to pursue music as a serious profession when I attended McLennan College for Commercial Songwriting. Now I am currently teaching guitar and basic drums for a music school, while also performing in a live Top 40 cover band. I consider myself a serious songwriter as well, and I have been writing and recording my own tracks for 8 years.

I encourage my students to bring in music they are interested in learning because learning how to play guitar or drums is more than just theory and techniques. Music is meant to be fun! I also personalize each lesson for every student based on what they are looking to learn and improve. Every student learns at a different pace and there is no rush to get where they want to be -- patience is just as important as practice.

Most students desire three things from an instructor - patience, flexibility, and a thorough knowledge of their subject. I offer all three! i have had many students come to me who have tried learning on their own, from the internet, or from other local instructors, but have become frustrated. After a few lessons, my students have a well defined "road map", practice schedules, and a great start to achieving their goals. I look forward to helping you soon!!

About Dennis
Two of my major passions? Playing guitar and teaching others to play. I view playing as a lifelong challenge and have never stopped learning. I have been playing for 40+ years and teaching for 15 years. I go easy on theory initially - especially with younger students - and try to gear the lessons to what a students wants to learn and play.

I play and teach all types of music - blues, country, pop, rock, you name it - and have trained and taught in other fields throughout my career, so I know what it takes to connect with a student. I look forward to helping you today!
