Are you tired of the same old strategy to deal with battling your fear of speaking in public? Is shyness something you've dealt with your entire life but you've become successful in spite of it? Still wet knuckling every meeting and phone call? Are you watching yourself while you're speaking instead of being present during your presentation or cringing as you watch yourself speak or freak out quietly while the board watched your instructional speech on YouTube? Learn the skills actors use and tools to manage performance anxiety.
It's time you break through your fear once and for all to be able to have some peace while you do your work. Once you understand how you will be able to speak to groups large or small, on camera and off.
I can collaborate with you to practice these skills and you'll feel safe to do it.
I cannot wait to meet you and to work with you. I have been working with speakers from inception to completion in the private and corporate sector for many years and have ...

About Kathryn
Kathryn K - There is no better gift than ART! But your lessons now! I am so happy to be offering acting, singing performance, audition prep, scene study, script analysis and speaking lessons at a discounted rate for Take Lessons actors, singers and those who need help with presentation work. I have worked with some of the most incredibly talented people through TL and am so grateful for this expansive outreach. I am here to help you delve into your creativity, work and passion in a supportive way. I am a member of our Performers Unions, SagAftra and ActorsEquity and have been for many years.
My students range from those beginning, yet committed to exploring wholeheartedly, the craft of acting, singing performance, songwriting and even screenwriting and those working professionally on an ongoing basis in the Industry. I also teach presen
tation skills and speaking executives, lawyers, announcers, as well as many other individuals.
My students have booked various roles in shows in the Hulu Hit Chance, HBO's, Thirteen Reasons Why, WestWorld, Looking, Woody Allen's, Blue Jasmine, Touching Home, Generations, productions including Theatreworks, Pride and Prejudice, Berkeley Repertory's, Hand to God, and there are many more in each of these categories and countless commercials. (Nationals and Regionals) Most have landed agents. Many have joined SAGAFTRA and Actors Equity. They work.
My base technique is Method Acting. I am open to other techniques and studied at HB Studio in NYC.
When you study acting / singing performance w/ me you'll also learn about the BUSINESS OF SHOW BUSINESS.
We work on Method technique, audition technique, monologues, scene work, and on camera technique. We study all aspects of acting and singing performance in order to prepare you for where you want to be as an artist.
Auditions!!
They are definitely the most difficult and nerve wracking part of being an actor or singer, right? Booking work means your audition has to be as good as opening night.
Auditioning is about preparation and preparation takes consistent support. Look, showbiz is not a business about being alone. Artists thrive when working together. We are a collaborative bunch and collaborating to make sure you're ready and organized for your auditions makes sense.
Stop trying to muscle through this necessary step alone. No one who works consistently does that! They ask for help. ASK FOR HELP!!
Solidify your acting choices so you don't have to worry about them the day before your audition. Know your prep so you can internally drop into it when the casting director says, "Whenever you're ready."
Have your music material and performance choices prepared ahead of time.
BE AHEAD OF SCHEDULE.
Work with me when your agent sends you your sides so you show up READY. Know your lines. It's OK if your struggling with memorization.
Let's figure out How YOU memorize.
Let me coach you for online audition submissions.
If we are working virtually I will coach while you are taping yourself to submit your online audition. It works!
Let me collaborate with on script analysis in order for you to you understand your material before you audition.
Take your work seriously so you bring your most intelligent and inspiring work to the audition rooms.
You'll be bringing the agents, casting directors, directors, producers and writers the inspiration they crave regarding their beloved projects. Do that and you're gonna book.
I know you can work and I can't wait to make it happen with you.

Gil Gross, Host The Gil Gross Show –Radio, ABC "I have loved Kathryn's music from the day I first heard her sing, but even being a fan of her recordings did not prepare me for seeing her perform live. She is a great live performer holding her audience willing captives to each turn of a melody and the drama of every lyric. She more than sings. She inhabits a song and involves each member of the audience in its drama, joy or sorrow. There are performers for whom a performance is a night out. When Kathryn performs it’s a lifetime shared with us in a single evening. If you want to merely hear some tunes, there are many people who will do. If you want a real experience in music, there is Kathryn.
Kathryn's latest show is being created with director David Ford (Marsh Theatre) and Kevin Gerzevitz and her concerts features a who’s who list of world-renowned musicians: Gerzevitz and Grammy-Nominated Bassist, Michael Manring; Album of the Year Winner, Trumpeter, Jeff Oster; Master Percussionist, Joe Venegoni; Guitar Virtuoso, Tom Lattanand; Critically Acclaimed Pianist, Kelly Park; Celebrated Flutist, Barbara Else; and from the Steve Winwood Band, Brazilian-born Drummer, Celso Alberti.

Kathryn is an amazing teacher! I've been working with her for nearly a year now. At first I was hesitant doing classes online, but I don't regret taking the leap. I've definitely improved my acting skills in the months we've been working together; she gives great feedback and really cares about her students, not ONLY in the way of their acting skills. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to get into acting. I started out knowing nothing and I can say 100% that what I know now is largely in part of Kathryn!

I always try and surround myself with people who give me confidence and make me better. Kathryn does both of those. She doesn't view you as a dollar sign but as an artist. She's the coach that sends you "Happy Birthday" and "Get Well Soon" texts because she genuinely cares.

I've been with her for over a year already and have no plans of stopping. Thank you so much, Kathryn. :)

For most of us drummers and rhythmatists we cannot go an hour without banging something or tapping or humming or moving.. if this describes you or your child then Im the guy who would be delighted to foster your development in your lifelong pursuit of the ultimate beat. I cannot give you God given talent , but I can take what talent god has given you and accentuate the positive. Work with you on fundamentals, technique, timbre, timing, tuning, sight reading..the list goes on..Its a lifelong pursuit..How long you choose to pursue it is up to you.. Im here to be your mentor.

Im pretty laid back with teaching discipline. Either you got it or you dont. I cannot push you or force you into practicing.. You must inherently love music and love rhythm and love drumming or percussion. If I am working with you on Kit drumming you will be starting out with the basics unless you have experience. I normally do an assessment to determine where you are at.. If I am teaching you hand percussion or African or Asian based drums then its strictly an aural based learning experience. No books just memorization. Kit drumming will require either you have your own Drum kit if I am coming to your house or of you travel to my studio I will have 1 drum kit to share , but you must have your own sticks. I do employ books in Drum Kit lessons. I will give you the names of the books based on what I think your level is and we can go from there..

Music is a complex yet beautiful language. Once you are immersed in the culture of the beat your journey thus begins. And journeys like these last a lifetime. I hope I can be a part of your experience.

Many Blessings

One Love

Everyone can overcome the fear of talking to others by knowing their strengths and using them effectively! Learn how to build confidence, speak in public without fear. training includes proper use of voice in different registers.

About James
I worked for Eddie Van Halen for five years in the 1990's in the Beverly Hills area of Los Angeles and was instrumental in providing help with development of the Peavey Wolfgang and Wolfgang Special Guitar by providing feedback on the prototypes Eddie was designing at the time. I learned a lot from Eddie and his brother Alex about music and the music industry. (All you have to do is pay attention! ) I have played in bands from Hollywood to Toronto and back both as a singer songwriter and guitarist. I bring the Musicians Institute way to the table and get things up and running quickly. I help students get it under their fingers fast and get it right the first time.

I believe in sharing the happiness of making music with anyone who loves music and the guitar in particular. I do my very best to get you playing the songs you love in Pop,
Rock, Jazz and Folk Music of your choice. Today's modern new guitars are easy to play and you will enjoy learning Guitar right away. That is how it should be.
When you study there is a basic understanding of Guitar to be learned that allows an ease of use for anyone for years to come. This will help you reach your goal and improve each week. My students learn to practice in a way that feels comfortable and makes sense. This takes all the stress out of learning and gives everyone something to smile about and look forward to each week.

The good feeling of playing along with friends and taking a solo is within every students grasp. I will show you the way there. And with a solid and straightforward approach to the theory as it applies directly to the guitar you will feel confident and unafraid of any music endeavor. We'll cover harmony and fingerboard theory and give you a road map of the guitar neck that makes it a pleasure to play. You learn the basics and much more than you thought possible retaining 90 percent of what you learn!

Having been a student myself I was deeply involved in music since age 12 and played in bands and duos for over 15 years . I can help you to be a well rounded player and performer with a smile, a laugh and a joy for music whether your in a band or a budding solo artist.

*** Lesson Details ***
Most students want to play the Guitar to play their favorite songs and I'm the same way. Music is something we carry with us in our hearts and minds. Students will learn what they wish to learn and work at a pace that is comfortable to them. Whether you are a student, “weekend warrior” or a parent whose child has expressed an interest in Guitar anyone can learn all there is to know about Harmony and Theory for the Guitar and how to play their favorite songs.

We cover theory in an easy and straightforward no nonsense way in the first half of each lesson and then apply it to the song you wish to learn. This creates an atmosphere where you understand and feel at home with the Guitar. You get an understanding right away and because it is immediately fun it allows you to feel comfortable at any level. Music is fun, and songs are the creative expression of what we feel. Combining theory and the freedom to play and sing songs allows us to express ourselves through music.
After 6 months students will have a solid foundation in theory, and a road map of the guitar fretboard enabling them to advance to an intermediate level if they are ready to do so. Students will know enough that music as it relates to the Guitar, which is the world’s most popular instrument in contemporary music, is not a mystery but is a welcome friend. And they will be able to play songs by popular artists and advance at a pace that is satisfying and enjoyable.

I have been coaching in this subject for over 6 years. There is no specific curriculum as each student will come to lessons with their own unique skills, needs, and goals. Lessons are tailored to those specifics. Lessons focus on vocal production technique (enunciation, breathing, projection, inflection, etc.), stage presence, and interpretation. These areas are usually worked on using texts provided by the student. Additional material may be used as needed. Students should come to the first lesson prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study.

About Troy
Composer Troy W. graduated from the New England Conservatory, earning his Bachelors, Masters (cum laude) and Graduate Diploma while studying with mentor Malcolm Peyton. After spending a year studying with Lukas Foss in Boston, Mr. W. moved to Houston in 2001 where he continued graduate studies at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music.

During his time as a teacher with the Michael P. Hammond Preparatory Program at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, Troy taught classes in music fundamentals and music theory for pre-college students. He has also served on the faculty of the Summer Institute for Piano teaching courses in Form & Analysis for pre-college students.

Troy also has maintained a private studio, tutoring and teaching private lessons in composition, ear training, voice, piano, literature, and history for over ten
years. Students who have studied with him come from a wide range of backgrounds with different goals. Those who have continued with musical studies in college have consistently placed out of at least the first two semesters of music theory and achieved advanced placement in their chosen fields of study. Those who chose a different path continue to benefit from the education and training they received from taking music lessons.

*** Lesson Details ***
There is no "standard formula" to lessons. Each student has their own unique background, needs, and goals. Lessons tend to be somewhat casual but are structured in such a way as to meet the unique requirements of the student.

To accomplish your goals, there are a few requirements and basic expectations that the student and parent must meet.
The first is practice. Students are expected to practice daily for at least the length of their lesson time. This, above all else, is essential to progress. It is also expected that a parent will attend lessons for students who are too young to drive themselves here. It's important for a parent to guide the student's practice time (particularly for younger students) to ensure that the most is gained from it. This is why I ask that a parent observe lessons.
Each student or parent should bring to each lesson a notebook, pencils (with erasers). The notebook will be used to record notes about each lesson, homework, practice advice, etc. Pencils (not pens...nobody's perfect!) are used by composers to record their creations and performers to mark their music. Both of these essential practices are subject to changing thought and must be open to change. So no ink, please!

Performers: It is not necessary to know how to read music at the first lesson for beginners. However, learning to read is required for subsequent lessons and will be a large focus for all non-readers. Lessons are not learned "by ear." A certain amount of theory will be a part of every lesson just as technique and repertoire. Concerning repertoire, it will be selected based on the student's learning needs but also with their input. The main emphasis on performance lessons, however, will be technique and reading. Students should come to the first lesson prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study.
Note: Voice students must be at least 16 years of age.

Composers: Just as with performers, it is not necessary to know how to read music at the first lesson. However, learning to read is required for subsequent lessons. Many young composers have great ideas but can only hear them in their heads or play them on an instrument. Lessons will allow you to obtain the skills to write them down with greater speed, accuracy, and clarity. More advance students will also include exploring a wider range of harmonic languages, advanced notation, instrumentation, orchestration, and aural skills. Students should come to the first lesson with examples of their work, either written, notated, or recorded in a digital format. They should be prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
• To reschedule a lesson, more than one day notice is required.

• Make up lessons must be scheduled before the next regular lesson.

• A make up lesson cannot be scheduled in place of a regular lesson.

• If, for any reason, two 30-minute lessons are scheduled one right after the other, they will be charged as two 30-minute lessons, not one 60 minute lesson which is a different rate.

• If, for any reason, two 45-minute lessons are scheduled one right after the other, they will be charged as two 45-minute lessons, not one 90 minute lesson which is a different rate.

• the studio space is also inhabited by two lovely cats. Do consider this when signing up for lessons.

About Anita
I have a BA in Theatre from the University of Tulsa. I have been teaching Acting, Competitive Speech, Creative Writing, Slam Poetry, Stage Makeup, Scenic Painting, and Technical Theatre since 2007 to both private students and to students in the Public School System. I have been the Performing Arts Coordinator & Stage Makeup Teacher in Jenks for the last four years. I was Drama Teacher, Competitive Speech Coach and Technical Director at Central Fine & Performing Arts Magnet in Tulsa, OK for six years before that. I served on many Committees during my tenure there such as the Magnet Advisory Committee, Tulsa Public School's Fine Arts Committee, and the Diversity Event Planning Committee. I developed a Technical Theatre Crew at Central where students were instrumental in all aspects of design, stage management, and crew over seventy-five
shows in a five year period. I proudly led my students to obtaining the 1st Place OSSAA Regional Technical Crew Award for the school year 2009-2010.

I have coached many State Qualifiers in Speech and Debate Competitions as well as Rotary Club Competitions, Jack & Jill Foundations Competitions, Omega Psi Competitions, Louder Than a Bomb Slam Poetry Contest, and Tulsa County's "I Have a Dream" Speech Competition.

I have had the pleasure to work with students with disabilities and have seen great results in performance with students having Asperger's Syndrome.

I am also an Inspirational Speaker, Standup Comedian and Actress. I enjoy performing at churches for a variety of functions and acting at local Theatres and for film.

In addition, my husband and I teach Line Dance Classes through Jenks Community Education. We also teach Line Dance as private lessons, Team Building Sessions and Wedding Dance preparation.

Over the years I have been very involved in my community. I have been an Adjunct Instructor at Tulsa Community College where I co-teach Line Dance with my husband. I also assist with the children and youth at my church and volunteer for various charitable functions each year.

I love Denise! Denise is patient and kind which is wonderful as a teacher. She creates a safe space, but she's also constructive with her criticisms and how to improve. She's also nurturing which I think is an excellent quality to have as a dance teacher as she's respectful of all dancers of other levels/experience. She loves to fun during class too! I love attending class because not only do I learn how to become a better dancer, but she makes it fun too.
