I am a musician and music educator specializing in brass and bass guitar. I hold a Bachelor of Music from Stephen F. Austin State University as well as a Music EC-12 Teacher Certification. I can teach trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and jazz bass guitar.
I thoroughly enjoy listen and watch my students grow as individuals and musicians. Learning a musical instrument teaches a person many things that will have them be successful such as hard work, patience, and delayed gratification. Having my students learn these skills is essential in today's world.
About Marcos
First and foremost I am a musician and music educator. I enjoy performing, arranging, composing, and of course passing my knowledge to future generations. I have a very diverse taste in music. Some of my favorite artists/composers include Platina Jazz, Gustav Holst, Karl King, Charles Mingus, and o

Tuba:
The largest and lowest-pitched musical instrument in the brass family. Like all brass instruments, sound is produced by moving air past the lips, causing them to vibrate or "buzz" into a large cupped mouthpiece. I begin teaching from the beginning with the very basics of breathing, embouchure, fingerings, reading, notes, rhythms, songs, scales, theory and improvisation.

I have been playing the tuba for over 20 years! During this time, I competed in the Leonard Falcone Tuba and Euphonium Festival solo competition and the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference solo and quartet competitions several times. I also won a brass scholarship competition--the Paul I. Willwerth Brass Scholarship Competition--during my undergraduate studies, and have taken the time to solidify what is of the utmost importance to me as a musician, which is--not surprisingly--to make music!
Now I get to play tuba every day, both for fun and to earn a living. With lots of hard work, if this is something you want to do it is certainly possible!
About Daniel
Whether you are just looking to learn a new skill or make a living as a professional, I am passionate about helping my students to find their path in life as music makers. To me, this means bringing the music off the page, and finding/playing what has not been written in ink. Music is about more th
