German Lessons in Florence. Amazing Teachers.

My emphasis is on a dialogue-driven media-enriched, and comparative introduction for the language to draw out a common ground and familiarize possibly daunting differences. I use a customized curriculum addressing frequently requested topics, as family, travel, outdoor, seasons, and custom themes for an optimal lesson experience.
For example, students have favorably reviewed my unique usage of audio monitoring software during online lessons to help approximate accent issues between different languages. Students obtain a repository of audio files to complement each lesson. My multimedia approach that coordinates sound, visual, and online resource, as Easy German and Google Earth, turns German into a good choice for a second or additional language.
I grew up bilingual English and German, attending an international school from a very young age. I attended, also, a German public secondary school, where I earned a diploma, and I completed German credits at the college level. Therefore, ...

I have a Master’s degree in German Philology and have been teaching German for over 15 years. I have also taught at the Humboldt Institute and Goethe Institute in Germany.
During my years teaching, I taught a variety of students with varying levels of knowledge. I have experience with beginner students who are just learning the language to advanced students applying for high level careers in Germany. I always create a fun, friendly environment for my students and have encouraged many students to continue their studies in German language. I also achieved a 100% rate for students studying and passing language tests.

I have been teaching German and Art professionally for15 years .

German is a spoken language, so being able to speak it well is important. I work on building vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing. For students who are planning to travel in German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria & Switzerland) we can also work on survival: basic words & phrases for travelers, and listening/understanding when spoken to.

I grew up at the Northern tip of the Black Forest in Southwestern Germany and have spent most of my childhood vacations at my grandparents' in the Eifel region, close to the border with Luxemburg. Therefore, I got to grow up with standard German and two quite distinct dialects of German.

Once I started teaching German to refugees and did an internship in a university German class I started to become aware of the intricacies of German grammar and vocabulary and saw it with new eyes. Frankly, I may not be able to explain ALL grammatical phenomena, but it will be my pleasure to explore and expand my knowledge of German with you.

We can discuss what life in the German-speaking world is like, explore German literature and music, and along the way have a look at the grammar, vocabulary and prosody you may need to talk about those things.

I am an experienced native speaking German tutor who has been teaching students of all ages and levels. I am a certified Montessori Teacher. I believe in gently guiding, supporting, encouraging but also challenging my students. I love to share many fun facts , i.e. hilarious literal translations, as well as cultural and historical background of Germany. This will give my student a well balanced foundation, he /she will really experience the language, get a “real feel” for it! I customize my curriculum to my students needs, wishes and goals. After a few lessons my students can speak easy sentences and phrases in German already, they will understand even more and will use their newly acquired skills continuously. I strongly stress speaking in my native language to my students from an early point on. It is very important to me to make the language learning a pleasant and enjoyable experience! There shall be lots of laughter! However diligent work and great effort is necessary
