Gretchen Conrad is a trained classical vocalist and emerging composer. In 2014, she graduated from Cornish College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Music. She is a founding member of Fine Rain Falling, an all-female a cappella ensemble, and a member of the St. James Women's Schola in Seattle, WA. She teaches beginner and intermediate piano lessons for children and voice lessons for all ages and adults. She recently moved back to the San Antonio, Texas area.
My lessons are highly personalized as I believe that there is no one path for every student. In addition to learning pieces from the lesson book, I also incorporate theory and history for perfect performance practice. Using these methods, my students develop into well rounded musicians that are able to tackle new and challenging pieces.

The Ukulele is such a fun instrument to play. It's a small instrument with a big sound. There is actually 4 different sizes you can choose from: Soprano, Concert, Tenor, and Baritone. The first 3 have the same string arrangement which is
G, C, E, A, and the Baritone is D, G, B, E, which is the same tuning as the first 4 strings on a guitar. Soprano is the smallest and the Baritone is the largest. If you want the true Hawaiian sound you need the Soprano. If you have really big hands or thick fingers you might want to go with the Concert or Tenor size so it will be easier to play.
They are very affordable instruments. The one I have is a Fender U Uke it was around 109.00. It's easier then guitar because you don't have to press down as hard on the strings.
Some of my favorite Ukulele players and bands that incorporate it are Jack Johnson, Brian May from Queen, Beach Boys, Elvis, Israel Iz, and many more.
I teach beginner to intermediate level for single and group lessons.
Music is my passion. I've been playing music since I was a child but didn't get serious with it until I was 14, that's when I got my first electric guitar.
