About Mark

I am a lifelong lover of music and education. I will use my 41years of performance experience to show students how to play guitar, bass, or sing, but more importantly, how to enjoy those things! I believe music is, first and foremost a source of joy, and my lessons are designed to bring that abo

Unfortunately, yesterday was my last lesson with Mark, as I am moving to Guam. I would definitely not be giving up my weekly lesson with him if that weren't the case! I've learned so much in the short couple months taking lessons from him. I would recommend him to anyone of any skill level. Very helpful and kind. :)

I'm a student at UC Berkeley majoring in Economics & Mathematics. I have experience teaching all levels of math from lower-elementary school to calculus. I have also taught in the classroom as a Breakthrough teaching fellow, where I taught summer pre-algebra classes for 7th graders.
I know that math can be hard and my goal is to share my passion for the subject, build a solid math foundation, and increase students' self-confidence. I believe that mistakes are okay, and it's the process, not the result that matters!

About Meghana

I'm Meghana! I'm a student at UC Berkeley planning to major in economics and mathematics. I hope to eventually pursue a career as a high school teacher. My tutoring philosophy is to emphasize a growth mindset: I want to teach students that making mistakes is not just okay, but essential to learning

What do you call a letter who's not afraid of anything?! ...
A 'G'!

Hello!
My name is Myreah, but you may call me Mya. I'm no teacher. I'm no instructor. I'm no professor. Nope, too serious! I'm just a silly wife and mom of eight who homeschooled three of her sons and got them moved from special education to regular ed classes in less than a month... They are now back to attending school in a physical setting. I have an autistic son who is in first grade, thriving, and at the head of his class. I also have twin sons who are in 3rd grade. They have special physical and mental challenges due to being delivered via an emergency C-Section three months before their due date. Despite their challenges and struggles since birth, they are now eight-years-old and doing really well in school. Their teachers have no concerns. I took my boys who still could not read or count in first grade--they could not even tell me any words that started with specific sounds or letters when prompted due to

She was super encouraging. My daughter almost likes her more than me and she improved in her school work soooo much. Money well spent.

I'm a senior undergrad English major with experience in creative, academic, and journalistic writing. Along with maintaining a 4.0 gpa throughout my time at college, I've also spent three years working at my school's newspaper where I have worked with new writers in helping them to develop their skills.

About Elijah

I'm a senior English major hoping to enter into journalism upon graduating from college. I've spent the last 3 and a half years at college drastically improving my writing skills. When I came in, I struggled to achieve high marks, revising essays six, seven, or eight times before I'd submit them. I

"I'd like to write a quick testimonial about the tutor I found here on Takelessons. Joshua has worked with my 1st grade brother for about 8 weeks and he has made impressive progress in both his reading and math skills. He has also helped discover my brothers learning condition, dyslexia, but it seems like Joshua has had no problem with that. My brother has enjoyed working with him and is demonstrating new learning, this delights me. Joshua has also developed a fun relationship with my other brothers too. I could not more strongly recommend Joshua to tutor any student."
