About Edward

Hi, I'm Alex. I'm a piano teacher in the Houston area. I like playing piano because I love making pretty sounds.

Edward's a very patient teacher and accomplished pianist. I've played the piano a bit on my own, but he gave me a detailed orientation into the theoretical side and technical side of piano. He gives me a large plate of work every week, and expects me to do this work. My progress isn't immediate, but it's going smoothly and it IS progress. I would suggest Edward for both begginers berly learning and for experienced players trying to learn more. Don't be shy with him. He can be a bit qwerky, but there is a method to his madness.
Todd Blackmon
I have studied under Alex for some time now and I think he is the best instructor in the Houston area. I would highly recommend him because of his teaching style and is also one of the best players around. 10/10 Edward displays an extremely professional attitude about everything he does and has shown himself to be dedicated to becoming an outstanding musician and teacher. He is also a very accomplished Piano, Trumpet & improviser, a very sensitive player and a very musical individual.
Nick
I haven’t taken lessons from Edward, but we have played together since high school band. I’ve seen him play in concerts as a soloist and he is very musical on both piano and trumpet. We also played a trumpet solo with piano accompaniment that he wrote and it was a list of fun. He’s a great guy to work with and is very understanding of any problems you’re having as a musician. I’d definitely recommend Edward as a lesson teacher for both trumpet and piano.

Shannon has worked with me for years, as my nutrition/fitness/strength trainer and my private music instructor! I love her! She is so patient, kind and knowledgeable. She cares and only wants to help me be better at everything I do! And she is always there to help even between sessions. She's all in!

Sharon takes time to listen to you and cares about you as a person as much as a student.
She has been knowledgeable on any instrument I have done lessons on (flute, clarinet, alto sax, cello, and violin).
Sandra
Shannon has been my triathlon coach and conditioning trainer for 3 years and I couldn't be more pleased. My racing times continue to improve, as I continue to aim for longer races. I just completed my first Half Ironman (70.3 miles)! I have never been injured in her care. She really knows what she's doing.

I've been playing saxophone for 28 years, and professionally for over 20. My journey has taken me from beginner in school band to one of the largest music schools at the university level. I've played in a multitude of professional settings including clubs, festivals, tours, and recording studios. I'm classically trained but specialize in improvisational music, jazz, latin, and funk. Over the years I have been fortunate to play with and learn from some true masters. I can teach you the techniques necessary to perform at the highest levels and have fun doing it. Whether you want improve you sound, learn to sight read, learn songs, or play over chord changes at a jam session I'm confident I can help.

About James

I'm originally from the Dallas Fort worth area of Texas. I started playing in the sixth grade and immediately fell in love with all things saxophone. In the seventh grade I began private saxophone lessons and I became addicted. In high school music was the single most preoccupation of my days. I wou

Was skeptical of virtual lessons, but Alex is making it work. He's been great with my son, quick to respond, answering all our emails, texts and kept my wife and I in the loop. Very pleased so far.

I really enjoyed my experience taking voice lessons from Alex! I learned something new every lesson and was given the opportunity to sing some of my favorite songs along with some that were less familiar. Alex helped me with many audition pieces and made sure I was prepared and confident before going into every audition. He made every lesson fun and I would definitely recommend taking lessons from him!

Testu was an excellent teacher. He was patient, kind, encouraging and very knowledgeable. He helped me to prepare for auditions, develop a practice routine and find more enjoyment in playing!

I have known Tetsuya for many years now having gone to high school with him. It was incredibly inspiring to watch him not only perform, but also teach my brother trumpet as well. He was an incredibly patient and kind teacher and helped my brother improve not only on his technical skills and passion for music, but also his confidence in his abilities to play the instrument. He is a kind-hearted, compassionate and patient person and this translates into his music and his teaching.
Tomo
Tetsuya is not only a talented musician, as many people already know, but he is also an incredibly kind and patient teacher. He taught my son not only about technique and musicianship but also the love and fun that can be had through music. He knew the level that my son was at and guided him through his learning and this allowed my son to continuously improve. My son was incredibly luckily to have Tetsuya as his first teacher.

"Mya is an awesome instructor! She helped my mom sew a quilt for her great-granddaughter and then wanted to sew another for her new great-grandson but was overwhelmed and unsure how to get started. Mya was nice enough to come over and guide her through the completion. Mya is intuitive and understands right away how to explain the different quilting techniques and sewing machine use. This has brought my mother immense pleasure especially since her limited mobility and pandemic have limited her activities greatly. I will be forever grateful."

"Meeting with Danial was great. He was able to assess what I was as a chess player and give me plenty of homework to work on between now and any future lesson. So far, this is exactly what I was looking for. It is someone that can lead and guide me towards being better at chess and give me the correct steps to move forward in my understanding of the game.

In just a single lesson and then 2 hours of immediate application of what he taught, I was able to raise my tactics rating over 100 points! Considering that was the benefit of a single lesson, I cannot imagine how much better I can be after I am able to practice more on what we discussed and as I continue on my chess journey.

Highly recommend his style of teaching and think he would make a fantastic teacher for anyone ages 5 to 85. Definitely a kind, patient, and knowledgeable teacher.

Looking forward to my next lessons!"

"Dipankar, is an excellent chess instructor. He currently teaches my 8 yr old daughter, and 12 yr old son. They are two completely different types of students however Dipankar has adapted to their individual personality types and the way that they learn. Dipankar is very knowledgeable and well equipped to teach young players and improve their skills. Dipankar has patience, and more importantly teaches them good habits that will help them far beyond chess. My children enjoy lessons with Dipankar they laugh and learn."

Sewing at Home: 3 Easy Sewing Projects for Children

The energy that my first time sewing students bring to the very first class is wonderful. They are so excited about the creative possibilities that learning to sew will bring them.
